Evening all!

I'm starting this thread now as I have to leave early for work tomorrow. and I know how keen you'll all be to weigh-in first thing, so won't want to wait until I can get round to getting it up and running Grin

Here's the link to the lovely shiny new Spreadsheet of Fabulousness ]] for which many thanks, SayrraT.

Your name should be on it, but if it isn't, just add it at the bottom. Don't try and re-alphabetise the list - Sayrra or Wombattoo will do that later.

And don't touch the blue cells!!!

I'm done for the day but yes I'm gonna take up those water drinking tips. I have a bottle I use a lot so will take it to work with a whiteboard marker - steal one from the kids' room when they are sleeping ;)

Final meal report
Breakfast - Greek yoghurt and coffee (no cream left)
Lunch - Salad, avocado and brie
Second half of lunch - Salad, Brie and a few M&S chorizo/crackling crisps
Dinner - 20% mince bolognese (onion, tomatoes and garlic etc) with cheddar, broccoli and courgettes fried in butter
Snacks - two cups of tea

37g of carbs, 82g fat, 72g protein. Not my best day considering the lack of fruit. Big gym workout too. Work tomo which I find easier to regulate.

Patapouf · 22/05/2017 20:22

I managed to gain 3 lbs overnight, which serves me right for saying I hadn't done too much damage in between BCs!!

B: yoghurt/cream with vanilla powder
L: chicken tikka skewers with creamy dressing
D: sirloin, buttery fried mushrooms, baby leaf salad and a couple of cherry toms with mayo
S: I think I've probably eaten 3 babybels today, but it's better than the crunchy I would have gone for yesterday. Obviously my lunch was not substantial enough.
3.5 l of water done, although I don't think I need this much anymore, but I was thirsty. Went to the gym but I reckon it just made me hungrier!

BIWI · 22/05/2017 20:25

Top tip - if you replace your onion with the same quantity of shallot, you'll more than halve the carbs.

Onions are 7.9g carbs per 100g, whereas shallots are only 3.3g

(Get the echalion or banana shallots, as they're much easier to peel than the fiddly little round ones!)

Well, in the name of science my dehydrator is working away Grin

I've tried the thinly sliced stiff you can get, then sliced a sausage a bit thicker and tried that too. I shall report back tomorrow night when they're done Smile

I hypothesise that long low cooking will crisp them up more and mean they can be stored in a Kilmer jar in the cupboard rather than in the fridge. It's cured meat anyway so it should be fine?

My whole house is going to stink of chorizo thanks to you lot Grin

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 20:28

I really need to proof read Hmm

CodLiverOil556 · 22/05/2017 20:49

Had a good day that has gone to plan. Feel very weird eating fat and oil but will no doubt get used to it. Managed 3.75 litres of water and have been peeing for Britain Grin

BIWI · 22/05/2017 20:52

Dinner chez BIWI - chicken breast wrapped in pancetta, stuffed with cheddar, mozzarella and wholegrain mustard, served with broccoli roasted in olive oil with red chilli, and cauliflower, braised in olive oil with shallots, cumin and lemon juice.

OP posts:
explodingkittens · 22/05/2017 21:00

BIWI that sounds lovely Smile

Mine was chicken thighs roasted in oil and butter with lemon and garlic, accompanied by leeks fried in with bacon, with cream. I did add a few petit pois that needed using up but I reckon there probably only 10 in each serving! Also some savoy cabbage with butter. I roasted some baby new potatoes for everyone else to have with it but tbh it was really filling without.

I may have a full fat Greek yoghurt with some flaxseed later.

Pretty good day all in all, although probably not enough water...

dementedma · 22/05/2017 21:10

How do I do cauliflower rice without a microwave?
All your recipes sound quite complicated. What easy options are there for someone short of time and cash?

Iwishicouldfly456 · 22/05/2017 21:15

Evening All, my first BC despite dipping in and out of threads since my last born 2.5 years ago. Have spent the last 15 years more or less following WW or SW. I'm a carb addict it's all or nothing so time to go for nothing. Here's my bash at day 1
B: FF Greek Yoghurt
L: Boiled eggs, Feta, FF Coleslaw which I suspect may be too carby, and leaves
D: Baked salmon darns, low carb veg fried in butter with FF mayo
3.5 l water

After years of low fat I am very scared of overdoing it but think I may need to up it. I love butter so this woe delights me
Need to get olive oil and oily salad dressing tomorrow though methinks.

Gonna try your dinner this week too BIWI sounds yummy

Yorkshirebornandbred · 22/05/2017 21:21

Dinner was roasted belly pork with cauliflower with a sprinkling of grated cheese and lots of butter. So far I've managed 1.7 litres of water... really struggling to drink so much but will keep on.

ChesterDrawers · 22/05/2017 21:23

Checking in after a good-ish day. Plenty of water but not enough food in general or fat, not helped by missing breakfast. Stomach feeling very bloated and gurgly at the minute but hoping that will ease off overnight.

Demented you can fry cauli rice in butter, oil or coconut oil, depending on what you're having with it. No need for a microwave at all.

ChesterDrawers · 22/05/2017 21:25

Also, keep going with the water people, it does get easier. I've been drinking 3l a day for a few years now and really notice it if I don't. And I don't wee as much as you'd think either, that wears off as your body gets used to it. I always have a litre bottle with me wherever I go and sip or swig whenever I think about it.

BIWI · 22/05/2017 21:28

@dementedma

I never use the microwave for cauliflower rice! I blitz it in the processor to get it to the size of couscous, and then I stir fry it, with shallots, garlic, ginger and any other veg I fancy!

And our dinner this evening took only 30 minutes from start to finish, so not that time-consuming!

Hi
I forgot to weigh this morning so I will do that tomorrow.
I have been eating a keto diet for about 2 weeks now and spotted the bootcamp. What a good idea.
I lost 6 stone a few years ago on Atkins and then Dukan. It all went back on.
I am about to lose 16 stone or so of husband and suspect this will help me look after myself better and won't need the carbs for that carb high to feel better. (Divorce nearly over)
I will be moving abroad at the end of summer with DC and Ddog and will need to do job interviews. So don't want to be doing that while this big...
Have lost 12lb since 3 May.
b - coffee with cream
l - leftover pork burger cooked in coconut oil with curry powder and grated courgette in with watercress and rocket and mayo
d - poached chicken breast with courgette and kale cooked in butter with garlic
have had some cheese and haven't got all water down me today....

nekobus · 22/05/2017 21:40

Goodness this thread is filling up fast! I've nearly caught up but wanted to post before I go to bed!

Checking in for day one. Lovely to see lots of names I recognise 😊

I've put my starting weight in the spreadsheet which includes a plaster cast on my leg 😂 hoping for a whoosh when it comes off in about 10 days...

Today:
B - olives and a babybel (wasn't hungry but need to eat with my painkillers)
L - courgetti with bacon, onions and a little pesto, lots of cheddar
D - chicken thigh, salad leaves and dressing
S - one babybel one peperami
At least 3L of water and tea with soya milk, one creamy coffee

wombattoo · 22/05/2017 21:41

Hello everyone
This is a very busy thread.
Sayrra - can you add a few more rows to the spreadsheet please?
I have updated the s/s
GetReady JuniorMint and Livelong I will update you all tomorrow when there is room Smile

HemanOrSheRa · 22/05/2017 21:51

How about making some herb butters dementedma. You can freeze them into sausage shapes. Then fry or bake chicken, pork, fish and then slice off some butter to melt over. Or you can melt it over steamed veg. Or both.

I've whizzed up a whole cauliflower into rice and frozen it in a bag. I just take out what I need so that prep is done. It keeps well so good if you find a bargain in a greengrocers or yellow stickered cauliflower in the supermarket.

I saw an easy prep video on the goodfood website which could be adapted . I'll see if I can find it.....

HemanOrSheRa · 22/05/2017 21:56

Here it is. I hope! You'd obviously have to adjust the veg and up the fat (and leave off the carby stuff). There is no reason why you couldn't use chicken thighs. www.bbcgoodfood.com/videos/hacks/easiest-ever-meal-prep

Mandelinka · 22/05/2017 21:57

I would love to join in please, have been LC on/off for about 5 years, started with Dukan, and followed with 5:2 etc after my pregnancy
I enjoy cooking and reading cook books (Lean in 15, The Hensley sisters etc)
I need to loose about stone and half and have 8 weeks before my annual trip to see my family.
Not sure how to add my name to the list.
Anyway, looking fwd to follow everybody's progress 👊🏼
Tomorrow's food:

Bfast: leftover egg, cucumber and carrot sticks
Lunch: home made soup (celery, sweet potatoe, spinach, spud, edamame beans and lit of chilli)
Dinner: roasted cauliflower and red pepper, tuna

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 22:00

None of the meals I cook in the evening take longer than 30 mins from prep to plate, haven't got time to faff about. For example tonight I roughly chopped the cauliflower and threw some kale on it, drizzled over olive oil and salt then massaged it with my hands and whacked it in the oven.

While that was roasting, melted butter and olive oil in a pan, stuck the fish in and flipped it after about 5 mins.

About 2 mins before the fish was finished cooking I put the sauce in the microwave and pinged it.

Job done! Grin

JiminnyCricket · 22/05/2017 22:06

Mandelinka

Your soup sounds lovely but very high in carbs for this WOE, potato and sweet potato!

Your whole menu is lacking fat, this is t a low fat WOE, you should be getting ~70% total calories from fat. At the moment, almost all your calories (not very many of them) are coming from carbs and protein.

Protein spikes insulin as well so that needs to be moderate too :)

Mandelinka · 22/05/2017 22:07

Forgotten to add I've been lurking and reading the old Bootcamp threads but was always too late to join!

SayrraT · 22/05/2017 22:09

More rows added but I can't re-alphabetise on my phone.

HemanOrSheRa · 22/05/2017 22:11

Jiminny could you post your lemon butter sauce recipe please? Smile. Your dinner looked lovely.
