So our last week! Here's the Spreadsheet for its penultimate outing

One more week could see another couple of pounds off.

Fingers crossed, and good luck! Flowers

I've been hovering around these numbers for 6 weeks now without making much progress despite being on track with food 90% of the time

Trouble is, @Hesdeadjim, that 10% off plan is really not going to help you!

Why not do the three day Uber Bootcamp to get yourself back on track, and hopefully get the weight loss going again? (It's on the spreadsheet, including 3 days' worth of menus, with recipes and shopping lists)

Hi can I please join? Started today Smile

Would love some advice on my menu -

B - omelette cooked in olive oil
L - chorizo, halloumi, olives, avo, rocket
D - roast beef and veg

Hesdeadjim · 24/04/2017 12:16

Yeah my off plan-ness is things like protein shakes instead of creamy coffees etc. Lunch is actual food this week Blush

Is that hummus chickpea hummus? I'd ditch that. Even if your total carbs are low, sometimes things like that do. Like dark chocolate seems to stall me but i only ever have a square or two and 90% choc at that so the total carb count isn't high.

I'd replace the hummus with more veg. For the fibre.

Evening all, I'd like to join in time for your next boot camp pls :)

Long story which I won't bore you with but have given up sugar, wheat and all grains for the sake of my health. This is day 77 of an initial 100. I love this woe so much I'm going to continue.

When I last weighed myself I'd lost 15lb (but I was a full 6st overweight) so still got plenty to go. I'm only 5' 1" but luckily pretty solid - no one ever believes how much I weigh!

I've been recording on MFP and aim for around 25 carbs a day. Since the first few days of adjustment (and feeling grim) I've stuck pretty much to that, only the odd day up to 40g (twice I think).

What's motivated me is anger - I've steadily got bigger and bigger despite following all the 'correct' dietary advice for the last 40 years. (Plus being made to feel weak willed and useless because of it) and the level of pain I live with steadily decreasing and becoming more manageable. My gp could only keep offering me more and more painkillers and I had to put a stop to it somehow.

Researching this woe, reading lots of books and various sites and forum have proved a mine of information. I started with 'from pig to twig' and went from there. I love the 'ditch the carbs' website and have picked up some great tips from here too.

Lovely to 'meet' you all, I hope I'll be here for a long time!

BIWI · 24/04/2017 18:23

Welcome @bellalurgy! Well done so far. The next Bootcamp doesn't start till around mid-May, but we're all chatting here until then, so just jump in and join us

@Hesdeadjim - that list of meals looks fine to me, and they all sound lovely! My only comment, assuming that those menus are going to be 100% Bootcamp compliant Wink is to keep an eye on the dairy. But see how you go with that week first.

I've been quite meticulous in my low carbing (since the butternut incident) but I suspect I'm eating too much. I thinking I'm compensating for the lack of bread by eating too many pepperamis Blush

Bibs2014 · 24/04/2017 19:08

Please can someone read my thread a few posts up and comment? Smile

bellalurgy · 24/04/2017 19:18

Hi bibs, I'm new on here but I'll give it a go :)

You don't state quantities of anything so a bit difficult to assess and you also don't say what/how much you drink.

If this were me I would be cooking my 2 egg omelette in butter and having cheese/spinach maybe

Your lunch looks good but are you losing weight? If not, maybe too much processed meat?

Dinner roast beef and veg - what veg? butter on veg to up the fat content? was it a fatty cut?

I guess what I'm saying is, is your diet enabling you to reach your goals? If not, you probably need to say what your goals are, itemise your food a bit more thoroughly and then see where you are. HTH but if not, I'm sure someone else will be along soon x

Hesdeadjim · 24/04/2017 19:40

Bibs2014 all fine except dinner, needs more fat! Couple of teaspoons of butter on the veggies will do the trick :)

Thanks guys and good point about the dairy, if I don't see much movement this week I'll ditch that for eggs in the morning Smile

Hesdeadjim · 24/04/2017 20:23

Dinner Grin

It's gone now Blush

Had some random lemon butter sauce in (5g carb per 100g) so had that with it to up
The fat content as the fish is lean.

Bibs

B - omelette cooked in olive oil
All fine and low carb - but might be tastier if you fried it in butter!

L - chorizo, halloumi, olives, avo, rocket
Sounds lovely! Just beware that chorizo is processed, and we're trying to keep processed foods to a minimum

D - roast beef and veg
Not so easy to comment here without knowing what veg! And how much fat did you use?

Don't forget you have to keep your water intake up as well!

I'm one of those weird people that doesnt like butter Smile

It was gorgeous! See pic!

D - roast beef and veg
Not so easy to comment here without knowing what veg! And how much fat did you use?

The roast beef had fat on it which melted into the juices. I did it in the slow cooker. I stir fried cabbage in olive oil to go with it. It was yum!

Don't forget you have to keep your water intake up as well!

Will do!

Thx BIWI!

Thanks Bella and Jim for your answers. It's my first day so still learning.

BIWI · 24/04/2017 20:53

How can you not like butter?! Shock

OP posts:
Bibs2014 · 24/04/2017 20:55

BIWI - I know! Shock

ragz134 · 24/04/2017 22:03

Shortbread was from IbreatheI'mhungry website, hers had lemon zest which looks lovely. I didn't have any. There are some recipes which use an egg as well, which I may try next time.
HesdeadJim - I had a 6 week up/down/stall/up/down/up nonsense too. Am almost back to my lowest weight so far now (today's was lowest recorded on BC spreadsheet though :) ), but it has taken ages. I will post my graph, it's appalling! I'm probably 90% on plan too. Clearly not good enough :(
Still, I have lost 7.8lb on BC and I am still here, not only at the end but beyond! That in itself is a huge success for me, I have been LC since the beginning of January with a few weekends off, this is the longest I have stuck at any way of eating. Massive thanks to all of you, I may not post a lot but I read often and think of you all and your journeys.

ragz134 · 24/04/2017 22:10

This is my weight over the last two months!

Our last week - Spring Low Carb Bootcamp
Bibs2014 · 24/04/2017 22:21

What can I drink in Costa? They do coconut milk now...

PissPotPourri · 24/04/2017 22:31

Ragz how did you manage that last massive loss?! Did you have a heavy carb week or something to go up then get right back on it to go back down? Whatever you did, well done you for keeping on keeping on. It's will power like yours that inspires me, ie continuing even when the scales aren't doing what they should. Because ultimately we are human and will have the odd spell of losing track. It's the getting back on that shows strength.

ragz134 · 24/04/2017 23:08

Bibs 2014 black coffee?
Pisspotpourri thank you. I did gain over easter so that came off pretty quick, the whole month though was very up and down and to be honest most of it was off plan. But this WOE is habit now so when I decide to get back on I do it. I also do 16:8 fasting most days as I skip breakfast 6 days a week.

ragz134 · 24/04/2017 23:10

I also tend to stick weight wise around TOTM so that messes it up too. I find tracking it daily keeps me going as I know how much I fluctuate but it will go down again. If I weighed weekly I think I'd be discouraged.

CaptainBraandPants · 25/04/2017 06:58

dust I don't know much about flax, although it gets called a "superfood" a lot. Grin I figure that I don't smoke, rarely drink, trying to get to a healthy weight and try to exercise regularly, so I'm not going to worry too much about all the other things that can kill you. Well done on the loose trousers and good article about not weighing, wish I could do it.
Welcome Bibs and Bella.
Hesdead that week's food sounds lovely and although there is the odd thing in there I would be concerned about, if your portion sizes and macros are correct, then they are nicely HFLC, so I wouldn't worry about it.
Bibs Don't like butter. Shock They have cream in costa, so I have creamy coffees. If I am going elsewhere, I take my own cream with me or have black. A little bit of coconut milk would probably be ok, but I wouldn't have a coconut milk latte as it would be too carby.
ragz Thanks for the recipe. Well done on getting to the end - and beyond of BC. This is the first time I've managed it as well. Grin
Weight loss isn't linear, we all know that logically, but seeing it in reality can be harder. So well done for KOKO.
Over the last 4-6 weeks, my weight seems to stay the same for about 2 weeks, have a drop, then stay the same again.
I did lose 0.8lbs when I weighed yesterday, but I've been hovering around that for a week or so. I will persevere and I know I am being impatient.

Had a lovely beef stroganoff with cauli rice yesterday.
Today will be:
B: creamy coffee x2 or 3
L : leftovers from Sunday of roast chicken, mashed cauli, leeks, broccoli
D: out at knitting group, but may have something like smoked salmon and scrabbled eggs (without the bread) that the cafe does.
Also want to go for a run when I get home.

Hesdeadjim · 25/04/2017 07:08

ragz I know exactly what you mean about it being habitual. I've never been on any diet or WOE that's quite so instinctive after the first couple of weeks.

We've all been on this WOE for 10 weeks which just goes to show that it's got sticking power long term. If you can do something for 10 weeks there's no reason why we can't keep going forever.

The biggest change for me is my relationship and attitude to food. Before bootcamp food was my entire life.y day would look like this:
Breakfast: cornflakes or porridge
Hungry by 10am so fruit to
Snack
Clock watch until exactly 12pm then race to grab something to eat, usually more than I should because I was so hungry!
Afternoon snack about 2:30, usually popcorn if I'm trying to be good but if not, almost anything
By the time I left work I'd be ravenous so I'd stop at the petrol station for a tube of pringles and hobnobs or at KFC and have a full meal on the way home 😳

Then I'd have dinner half an hour after I got home

Then supper or evening snacks

.... Hmm

Now it's a struggle to remember I need to have 3 meals and on more than 1 occasion I've not bothered to have dinner in the evening Blush food just isn't on my radar like it used to be.

I can happily go 12 hours on a creamy coffee no problem.
