So our last week! Here's the Spreadsheet for its penultimate outing

One more week could see another couple of pounds off.

Fingers crossed, and good luck! Flowers

I've had horrible comments before out running unfortunately. When you're running at 18st it's a spectacle it seems Hmm

CaptainBraandPants · 22/04/2017 08:48

Welcome back mrwalken. I hope you feel better soon and well done on not gaining weight. Flowers
Hesdead I have a theory about this - anyone who runs at all sees someone running, no matter how big/ small slow/fast and just thinks "Oh, well done. I wish I was out for a run"
Those that make snide comments don't run and therefore, who really cares about their thoughts? It goes without saying that they are tits for commenting anyway. Flowers It's spring, so I have lots of flowers to give away today. Grin

Well, I'm pleased to say my Dad is better than expected, so I am deferring going to visit him until later in the week. I went to see him a week last Sunday, then worked for a twelve day stretch, so the thought of travelling again today didn't appeal. Instead, I'm aiming for as quiet a day as it is possible to have with three DC, one dog ands DH who can't sit still for more than 20 minutes at a time.
Might treat myself to a third coffee today, not sure what we are having food wise as I need to food plan.
TMI alert, I need to poo! Don't usually have a problem with this wow but I'm feeling a bit bunged up. Water, magnesium tablets, flax bread, more water...

CaptainBraandPants · 22/04/2017 08:49

Wow=woe, but it is wow. Grin

Hesdeadjim · 22/04/2017 09:08

Cap I agree, the guy and girl who have hurled abuse at me were definitely not runners.

It was two separate occasions but close together and to my shame, it did stop me running in public for over a year. Then I had some nasty comments at the gym in Feb so I decided I can't win and might as well run wherever I damn well like if everyone is going to be a knob wherever I go Hmm

First was the woman, she was in her 30's and with a group of 'mum friends'.. she said very loudly as I ran passed 'god it should be illegal for fatties to wear gym clothes' and some of her mates laughed.

Second time was a youngish lad (about 18) who shouted from his car as I ran passed 'run fat girl! Run!' And beeped his horn at me Sad

Stupid, throwaway comments but they stayed with me.

The funny t-shirts are definitely a shield. I figure if they know I have a sense of humour, they'll know they can't hurt me and will leave me alone! Silly I know but they give me the confidence to get out and run so meh Grin

I posted on facebook last night about my run and a lady I know said she wants a run buddy. She's lost a ton of weight with slimming world and was about my size, so she's the perfect running friend :) off our today with her so hopefully that will help :)

dustmotesinthesun · 22/04/2017 09:27

Captain realpy glad to hear that about your dad.
Hesdead that is awful. I'd be crushed. Glad it's not stopping you. I have a friend who struggles with being very overweight. She has the most beautiful gym gear including lots of really fun leggings with things like Disney villains on them. She looks amazing. I always admire her confidence.
I don't run but I only ever admire people who do, whatever their shape. Even when I was healthy, running always felt like torture. The sweat! The aching muscles! The burning lungs! You are a better woman than me.

PissPotPourri · 22/04/2017 09:59

I think you're amazing for running at all. Mind you, in case it inspires anybody, I've run or gone to the gym on and off for years but the fittest and slimmest I've ever, ever been was through salsa dancing. And it didn't even feel like exercise!
Ok, a very quick poll please... Which is generally viewed as better...Fathead pizza base or flax seed pizza base? Thanks

wombattoo · 22/04/2017 12:48

Hello everyone
Sorry I can't assist Piss I haven't had either.

Hesdead I am full of admiration for anyone who can jog/run. I am especially admiring of anyone who looks even slightly larger than the 'average runner' because it shows courage and determination. It must be hard to have heard such dick head comments, but don't let it put you off. It is envy that's all.
You are amazing.

SayrraT · 22/04/2017 14:42

I've only had the fathead pizza piss but I love it! No idea which is better though.

greengoose21 · 22/04/2017 17:18

PPP I've only had the fathead too, but it's gorgeous.

Tonight I'm making chicken and mushroom tacos, with cheese taco shells and a mountain of salad. It's always been one of my favourite meals and loses nothing being adapted to low carb. I used to make rice and refried beans with it, but I don't miss them.

CaptainBraandPants · 22/04/2017 18:37

Hesdead they are twats. Good news about the run buddy, though.
Piss I've also only had the fathead pizza, it's soooo good I've not tried any other. Grin
green sounds lovely.

Had sausages, courgetti, buttered leaks, broccoli and green beans tonight. Was very nice and enough left over for lunch tomorrow. I do get inordinately happy about leftovers these days. Smile

Haven't had a chance to go for a run today, so will make sure I do tomorrow.
Settling down ready for Doctor Who now.

ragz134 · 22/04/2017 19:42

I made pizza tonight with an omelette base. It was lovely. I was going to take a photo but I was hungry!
2 eggs whisked with milk. In small pan with oil and cooked both sides for a thin omelette. Spread tomato puree, basil, garlic granules. Chopped black olives and a few plum tomatoes. Mozzarella and cheddar in top and grilled. It was lovely. Needs knife and fork though.

thenightsky · 22/04/2017 19:56

I make pizza base with cauliflower rice, eggs and grated mozzarella and a bit of grated parmesan.

ragz134 · 22/04/2017 21:36

I also made low carb almond shortbread. With erythritol. My first baking experience with it and I was impressed. Worked well and the only weirdness is the cool aftertaste. I had a bad experience with Stevia last time I did low carb and it put me off sweeteners. But this one worked really well. Shortbread was just ground almonds, butter, vanilla extract and erythritol.
Obviously not something to have often, but I did find I can only have a couple as they are really filling.

ASDismynormality · 23/04/2017 09:10

I use omelette as a pizza base too.

I am in awe of anyone who can run, I feel like it's not for my body but would love to be able to!

I've just taken on an allotment. It has quite a few fruit bushes so will have to watch my carb count!

dustmotesinthesun · 23/04/2017 12:21

What are you going to grow ASD?

ASDismynormality · 23/04/2017 12:24

dust. Have got some courgette, tomato, cucumber and cucamelons that I have grown from seed, would like to grow cauliflowers too. At the moment I'm concentrating on making some paths around the beds to break it up a bit, Also want to put a pond in.

CaptainBraandPants · 23/04/2017 16:35

ragz where did you get the shortbread recipe, please? I might try that after I've finished the amaretti biscuits I made last week.
ASD pretty much anyone can run, seriously. DH can't after A knee injury about 18 months ago, but unless you have some MS problem you really can run. The trick is to start slowly walk/ run and increase the running whilst decreasing the walking. That's why couch to 5k is so popular. Of course, you don't have to run, but it's an effect exercise and a great stress reliever. Your allotment sounds fab, I am very jealous. Although, realistically, if I had one it would just be full of weeds. I love the idea of growing my own food, I just don't want to put the hard work in. Grin
Had flax bread with butter and Brussels pate for brunch as I was hungry at about 10.30, which is unusual for me. The pate and bread go really well together and are so filling. Apart from a chunk of cheese, some olives and a spoonful of peanut butter after my run, I've not had anything else yet. Looking forward to roast chicken with broccoli, leeks, green beans and cauli mash for dinner. As its a Sunday, having raspberries and cream for pudding as a treat.

dustmotesinthesun · 23/04/2017 20:32

Raspberries and cream.....hmmmm. Lovely ASD. I usually grow quite a bit of veg but haven't got much space this year. Still might get something in a pot or two. I love eating home grown stuff - nothing like it. Tomatoes are my favourite followed by cucumbers and courgettes.

I had flax seed bread for breakfast today and I honestly love it. I really don't like most low carb substitutes so I am v impressed. I have been researching it thought and have decided to limit it, because it contains phytoestrogens.

It looks like the jury is out on whether they're beneficial or harmful but I think they potentially cause problems as things like soy does. I am scared enough of getting cancer already without worrying about raising my risk. I might have it as a treat once a month, I can't think that's a dangerous level if they are a problem

A good day of good eating and little hunger here. I think my trousers are a little baggier but they're linen and I'm never sure if it's just the fabric relaxing. Need to get on and measure myself. I spoke to an old friend who is getting married in 7 weeks time. I haven't spoken to her for ages and I sat there feeling really excited because hopefully I'll surprise her with looking slimmer. I've already bought my dress and fit into it but I'd feel really amazing in it being an inch or two slimmer. I haven't seen her in 3 years for a variety of reasons.

dustmotesinthesun · 23/04/2017 20:33

I did mean to ask if other people worry about flax or have looked into it.

thenightsky · 23/04/2017 23:15

Not read anything adverse about flax. I love the bread, but a loaf can last me over a week.

Hesdeadjim · 24/04/2017 07:03

Argh my scales are driving me up the wall!

On one tile in the bathroom I'm 17st 0, on the other I'm 16st 11 AngryHmm

Pissed off because I've been hovering around these numbers for 6 weeks now without making much progress despite being on track with food 90% of the time Sad it's maddening!

I'll KOKO but I'm going to weigh myself at Tesco on the big scales on Mondays from now on and bin my home scales to stop myself daily weighing. It's not good for me at all.

dustmotesinthesun · 24/04/2017 07:58

I know that feeling Hesdead and it's horrible isn't it? Are you measuring too? I think it can be very liberating ditching the scale.

dustmotesinthesun · 24/04/2017 07:59

I like this approach to weighing.

Kleptronic · 24/04/2017 09:00

That's a great approach to weighing dust. Not least because mine show a gain despite being on plan!

I've been off all week clearing stuff and stripping walls so it's possible it's 2.2lb of new muscle, yeah? Grin

dustmotesinthesun · 24/04/2017 09:46

Yeah, totally! Grin
