Week 3 - Spring Low Carb Bootcamp - To B or to BC, that is the question!

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet

I see from the last thread that some of you have already weighed in - well done to those who've lost and commiserations with those of you who haven't.

We now enter week 3, which is notorious (along with week 4) for being a bit of a bugger of a week Grin

At this point, you'll see weight loss slow, stop or even reverse. It's a very, very common thing. So if this happens to you, don't panic - it's perfectly normal. Your body is adjusting, and weight loss will resume again, assuming that you keep on keeping on.

You can now choose whether or not you want to move on to Bootcamp Light, which allows a bit of fruit, some nuts/seeds and alcohol - all in moderation of course!

If you prefer, and if it's suiting you, you can stay on Bootcamp - or you could do a mix of both. So Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend. Up to you.

Good luck whichever approach you take

I ONLY BLOODY DID IT!!!

I'm SO proud! I got to my conference and started hobnobbing as you do, and they brought out a load of fancy little canapés. I couldn't tell what was in them so I avoided the lot. Then there was a free bar with people circulating offering drinks. I didn't touch a single one.

THEN they were giving out boxes of chocolates, and if you opened the one that contained the Bing logo on it you won and Xbox one 1... I got a box, opened it (no Xbox, boooo), put the lid on the posh chocolates and put them in my bag to give to my team when I get back to the office tomorrow.

I, ladies and gents, am a saint Halo

wombattoo · 21/02/2017 19:11

Woo Hoo Hesdead Well done Star

SayrraT · 21/02/2017 19:11

Well done jim that's fantastic!

Imissmy0ldusername · 21/02/2017 19:41

Well, thankfully, today was a lot less stressful than yesterday. Phew!
B: coffee & cream
S: hard boiled egg & a small piece of cheese
L: leftover beef shin
D: moussaka

I really couldn't manage breakfast this morning, and I walked to & from work (so about 1.5 hours walking), so I'm feeling pretty chipper about things this evening. I have noticed that I can smell sweet things more keenly now - interesting...

BIWI · 21/02/2017 19:50

Wow, Hesdeadjim - that's brilliant Smile

Sorry for lack of posting/presence - have super busy week this week, at work as well as socially - and DS1 is home for the week too, which is lovely.

Will only be checking in briefly this week as a result.

Pay attention to StuntNun's lovely graph - it's really key to see that!

Visaste - seem to remember they reckon now that heart disease/type 2 and PCOS may be all parts of the same thing, so you could well be onto something.

Kleptronic · 21/02/2017 20:53

I just made flax seed and ground almond bread with eggs and bicarb. There wasn't a carb count on the recipe so I ate a tiny smidge only. I reeaaaly like it.

Patapouf · 21/02/2017 21:08

B: Skipped breakfast now that we are allowed to.
L: leftover cauli cheese
D: crackslaw using this diet doctor recipe www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/stuffed-cabbage-casserole I skipped the vinegar because I didn't have any in. I don't think it has agreed with my stomach because I have gone from one extreme to the other after being moderately constipated since BC began. On the bright side I might see a shift on the scales.
S: square of dark choc.

3.5l water done, didn't feel up to the gym due to aforementioned affliction.

PissPotPourri · 21/02/2017 21:23

Just thought I'd give you all a giggle.... I've been reading these threads since week one and thought you were all so posh that you had breakfast, lunch, tea/dinner AND supper. The penny has just dropped that the S: on your posts stands for snacks.Blush. In my defense, on this diet, we are all eating odd things at odd times so it wasn't THAT obvious... Well, that is what I'm telling myself.

CaptainBraandPants · 21/02/2017 21:47

Piss Grin I'm vair posh, I am.
Well done Hesdead I think the first time is the hardest true of so many things. I am now quite adept at getting sandwiches at work functions, eating the filling and leaving the bread. It amazes me how little people comment on it.
Patapouf I made that last week and really enjoyed it, sorry it didn't seem to agree with you.

Just been making frittata for tomorrow - little bit of red onion( I know, but I cba to cut up a shallot and this was already there, and I only used a little bit), mushrooms, pepperoni, jalapeño peppers and cheese. I'll have it with a green salad for lunch.

nekobus · 21/02/2017 22:10

Grin love the idea of an extra supper piss!

Today wasn't too bad.
B - olives, a few cherry toms, chorizo slices
L - avocado, cucumber spread with pate
D - butter chicken with cauli rice
S - leftover LC meatballs, 85% choc square

Veryflummoxed · 21/02/2017 22:20

Food today was exactly the same as yesterday. mint tea and water.

Congrats Hesdeadjim.

MyShinyThing · 22/02/2017 06:38

Fantastic to see that everyone's back on track.

I had an odd day yesterday, when I got home from work I felt completely drained. I must have fallen asleep putting DS to bed at 7 & slept right through till 6am this morning. DH says he tried to wake me but I was fast asleep!

& the weird thing is im not even hungry this morning despite not eating since 1pm yesterday!

B: BPC
L: cauliflower & broccoli soup
D: chicken thighs & salad.

Imissmy0ldusername · 22/02/2017 06:53

Morning all, really vivid dreams last night, I woke up laughing and a little baffled Grin

B: coffee & cream, I'll have a hard boiled egg when I'm actually hungry later
L: leftover mousakka
D: not sure yet, I'll decide when I get back. Might be roast chicken...

Have a good day one & all

cabininthewoods2016 · 22/02/2017 06:55

What is BPC?
I am deliberating between Slimming World and Low carb bootcamp. I am coeliac so low carb would be best but i am not a big meat eater.

BIWI · 22/02/2017 06:59

BPC = bulletproof coffee; a disgusting concoction of coffee, butter and (I think) coconut oil

You can low carb perfectly well without meat!

BursarsFrogs · 22/02/2017 07:31

My lunch yesterday was a bit puny and I didn't have a chance to do any appropriate snacking, so I was properly hungry by evening. I noticed though, that even feeling really hungry, it wasn't that horrible insistant "need food right now" hunger. I was fine cooking and waiting for the food to be ready, waiting for DH to turn up so we could eat together etc. Usually letting myself get really hungry means I go a bit frantic and snack while cooking.

B: feta omelette, since I'm still loving these
L: tuna and avocado salad
S: greek yoghurt OR a few macadamia nuts
D: chicken thighs and veggies, possibly in some creamy casserole arrangement

SayrraT · 22/02/2017 07:37

BPC is yum! I hardly ever have them but I blend coffee, unsalted butter, coconut oil and double cream. Double cream isn't in the original recipe though, I think it makes it tastier.

It makes a delicious frothy, creamy drink.

Imiss vivid dreams always occur on BC! No one seems to have had the nightmare about eating cakes yet, that also always happens!

My food Yesterday

B: coffee with cream
S: FF yog with berries
L: 3 egg muffins and salad, mini cheese
D: lamb shank, asparagus and mashed celeriac
S: pork scratchings

CaptainBraandPants · 22/02/2017 07:55

I once dreamt of a giant blueberry muffin. Then, got really frantic that BIWI was going to tell me off. Grin
Today's food is:
B - creamy coffee x2
L - frittata and green salad
D - don't know, something with mince, I think.

I'm now getting the cold which has been going around here. I know from previous experience that this is a danger point for me. I feel crap, down and feel that I "deserve" carbs. It can make me spiral into a carb-fest. However, that is NOT going to happen this time.
KOKO everyone, onwards and downwards.

explodingkittens · 22/02/2017 08:15

Hi, I hope no one minds me butting in! I've done low-carb for years now but fell off the wagon in a big way last year when life really got in the way (illness and bereavement). I put on the best part of a stone through 'fuckit eating' but am now ready to climb back on!

I'd ideally like to lose about 20lbs but am going to try to go by how clothes fit rather than weight, so probably won't put myself on the spreadsheet. I have a beautiful skirt I bought last year that doesn't do up that I'm going to use as a marker instead!

I don't eat breakfast as a rule so BC light is good for me. Hope it's ok if I post my meals etc as I think that will help keep me on the straight and narrow.

StuntNun · 22/02/2017 08:50

The vivid dreams are usually because you're sleeping better so you spend longer in REM sleep. Two nights ago I dreamt I was hired to illustrate a comic book and I was panicking when I woke up because I can't draw. So random.

ASDismynormality · 22/02/2017 10:20

I woke up with an awful migraine yesterday, I think I I didn't have enough to drink the day before. It was very tempting to just comfort eat but I managed to resist!
I went to the gym last night, I actually found the cardio harder and the weights easier which is the reverse of when I go in the mornings. If DH gets home before 8 I may try going in the evenings more.

B - linwoods flax, chia, apple and cinnamon ( I fancied something a bit cereal like)
L - pork ball soup
D - lamb curry with raw spinach
S - pork scratching

Musicianofbremen · 22/02/2017 10:24

Loads of fluids yesterday and I have finally seen a bit of a loss.

Also now the cold is going I feel so much clearer and not like a I am dragging from coffee to coffee all day.

B: blackberries and marscapone
L: tomato mozzarella salad with chilli oil
D: cod with cauliflower and spinach in cheese sauce
S: a few Brazil nuts and babybels in my handbag for emergencies.

Have good days everyone!

Lucy7400 · 22/02/2017 10:38

Awful day yesterday. I binge ate for the first time since starting this. I had 2 bags of hula hoops, 2 creme eggs and some fizzy sweets Blush.

So, on to today.

B.cappunccinno. ok.not the best start.
L. Tuna salad.
D. Duck and spring onion.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 22/02/2017 14:50

Low carb constipation tips, anyone?

Oh my goodness, I think I'm carrying about 4lbs of poo around with me.

No seeds, no fruit, no prunes? I'm drinking 3l of water a day, nothing but tiny wee rabbit droppings to offer.

Help!

I'm starting to waddle.
