Week 3 - Spring Low Carb Bootcamp - To B or to BC, that is the question!

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet

I see from the last thread that some of you have already weighed in - well done to those who've lost and commiserations with those of you who haven't.

We now enter week 3, which is notorious (along with week 4) for being a bit of a bugger of a week Grin

At this point, you'll see weight loss slow, stop or even reverse. It's a very, very common thing. So if this happens to you, don't panic - it's perfectly normal. Your body is adjusting, and weight loss will resume again, assuming that you keep on keeping on.

You can now choose whether or not you want to move on to Bootcamp Light, which allows a bit of fruit, some nuts/seeds and alcohol - all in moderation of course!

If you prefer, and if it's suiting you, you can stay on Bootcamp - or you could do a mix of both. So Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend. Up to you.

Good luck whichever approach you take

Hesdead I watched that YouTube video over lunch. I must say the speaker was a poster boy for LCHF. Those cheek bones! Oh, it was very interesting as well. Grin

Stunt That sounds lovely and definitely cheering up food.
Welcome imustbepatient. I think your username could describe us all.

I have been working my BMI out and I am 2 lbs away from being over weight rather than obese. I'm finding that a real incentive to KOKO.

imustbepatient · 23/02/2017 16:09

Thanks Captain for the welcome Smile

I think I picked this nn as I joined MN way back when pregnant with my first and desperate for her to arrive. Rather scary to think that was around 6.5 years ago still losing that baby weight

The nn has proven to be very versatile and now fits all sorts of things, like having to be patient for weight loss, holidays, wine

imustbepatient · 23/02/2017 16:10

Oh and yes that is a fantastic incentive re the BMI. I'm a bit further away but getting closer!

ASDismynormality · 23/02/2017 17:09

The scales are really moving down so far this week, already 3 lbs gone since Monday - fingers crossed it at least stays the same as I would be very happy with that result on Monday. I decided to cut out dairy this week, I wonder if that's why the weight is going down faster.

Tomorrow night I am going to an event, there will be pizza and alcohol. Seeing the weight going down on the scales and seeing a difference in my body ( mainly arms and face) has motivated me not to cheat - it's not going to be worth it for some stodgy pizza and cheap wine!

wombattoo · 23/02/2017 17:40

No worries playmobil
Stunt You meal sounds delicious.
Ronnie no sweeteners and berries are allowed on bc lite.
imustbepatient Welcome Smile

Got home and had smoked salmon, artichokes on oil and olives for lunch. Had natural yoghurt with a handful of blueberries for tea. Drinking lots of mint tea.

BursarsFrogs · 23/02/2017 19:30

StuntNun - sounds delicious, I hope it cheered up your DH.

I got stranded today because of cancelled trains, but got home eventually due to the kindness of strangers. Faith in humanity restored, and I'm home, dry and warm. :)

Foods have been:
B: Greek yoghurt with vanilla extract
L: Lots of green salad, a few slices of smoked salmon and some fried halloumi
D: Beef stew

I've also had two glasses of red wine.

Patapouf · 23/02/2017 20:00

L: halloumi/courgette muffins and cucumber salad leftovers
D: steak and green beans with lots and lots of butter plus rosemary and garlic.
S: a chunk of chorizo fried in butter

4L of water today, I was out of my seat every 15mins at work. Hoping to go to the gym shortly, haven't made it in two days Blush

Callmesausage · 23/02/2017 20:40

Well, back again. Sorry I've been AWOL. My mum died last month and I thought I could stick to the plan and carry on, but am finding it so hard to cope at the moment, so have given myself a break for a couple of weeks. However, I know I'm not doing myself any favours, so just need to get on the bandwagon and ride it out. My plan is to be back on it tomorrow. Had a relatively good day food wise so hope I can ease myself back in.

Well the less said about my week the better. It's been really busy with work (early mornings and late nights) and I've had some social things too, all of which have led to difficult situations and impossible 'choices'.

I'm absolutely knackered as well, and can't wait until the weekend. I haven't been sleeping well either, which really doesn't help!

But this is called life. It's a bugger that's it's come in the middle of Bootcamp, but it is what it is.

Back on it with a vengeance tomorrow.

Sorry to butt in, but when does the new bootcamp start, please?

Patapouf · 23/02/2017 22:37

katie it started two and a half weeks ago, with 7.5 weeks to go if you want to join us.

Hesdeadjim · 23/02/2017 22:58

BIWI inuear you about life getting in the way!

So far during boot camp I've had:
Heavy cold
Work conference
2 team meals out
3 hours sleep in 2 days
6 days without pooping
AF

Some of that is BC related but most is bloody ridiculous timing! So far in still on track but god knows how!

explodingkittens · 24/02/2017 07:15

Morning all!

sausage, so sorry to hear about your mum. Mine died suddenly at the end of last year so I can empathise, it is so hard. Much love to you Flowers

Yesterday was not too bad, especially considering that I ate out for both lunch and dinner. I have a diet buddy at work who has just started LCHF after years on weightwatchers etc, so we went out for a cheeky Nando's at lunch (chicken, coleslaw, salad) to 'prove' how easy it is to eat fairly LCHF in restaurants!

Then I had such a rotten journey home (Southern trains plus a bit of wind and rain, say no more) that Dp texted me when I was halfway home to suggest he met me in town for tapas and WINE. So I had anchovies in oil and garlic, chorizo in red wine sauce, garlic prawns, Serrano ham, olives and just a small chunk of tortilla (only a tiny slice of potato in it). I left the patatas bravas, the breaded calamari and the massive bread basket for Dp and ds. But I did have two glasses of rather delicious Rioja as well so...

However I am out tonight at an event where they are serving chill with rice and there will be bowls of sweets on the table, plus a cheap bar. I can probably avoid the rice and load up on guacamole instead. But the sweets will be an issue!

My dreams are MAD at the moment!

BBC article today in their website about the pancreas regenerating on a form of lcb

Imissmy0ldusername · 24/02/2017 08:46

Good morning shiny bootcampers! Day off today, so I can cook up a storm and use up some of the bits & bobs in the fridge. A lb has come off, which I'm happy about - keep this up, and I'll be under 13 stone in a couple of weeks, which I've not been for a couple of years now. Might be time to try on some work trousers which I've not worn in a while - they have actual pockets and everything - what is it with trousers with no pockets, anyway?

Brunch will be courgette frittata, with some halloumi
Dinner to be decided - DH & I are going reduced aisle plundering in Tesco in a bit - rock & roll way to spend our day off!

Yesterday's late lunch out with colleagues went fine - I had a burger minus the fries and bun with bacon & smoked cheddar. I sidestepped the digs about cholesterol & hardened arteries from the calorie counting pain in the arse who is bloody losing 3lb a week by spending every evening in the gym.

I may have had a good sniff of their puddings, mind you - but as I don't "do" puddings normally anyway, it was no biggie. Bloody coffee was crap, mind you!

CaptainBraandPants · 24/02/2017 08:53

Morning. I've also got a day off, I needed a day of annual leave to recover from going away with the dc last weekend. Grin
I might venture into town as my trousers are a bit on the loose side falling down, Yay so could do with a couple of pairs. Also got a massage booked for this afternoon. Other than that, intend to laze about. Will probably drink too many creamy coffees.
Not sure about food, will visit the farm shop for some nice meat, I think.

Aderyn2016 · 24/02/2017 09:04

Always disappointing when you skip pudding and then get crap coffee miss.

Did okay yesterday. Resisted the milka bars in the supermarket, so quite proud of myself as I generally have zero willpower.
Have lots of nice things in the fridge - olives and halloumi and avocados, so should be okay today.
