Week 3 - Spring Low Carb Bootcamp - To B or to BC, that is the question!

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet

I see from the last thread that some of you have already weighed in - well done to those who've lost and commiserations with those of you who haven't.

We now enter week 3, which is notorious (along with week 4) for being a bit of a bugger of a week Grin

At this point, you'll see weight loss slow, stop or even reverse. It's a very, very common thing. So if this happens to you, don't panic - it's perfectly normal. Your body is adjusting, and weight loss will resume again, assuming that you keep on keeping on.

You can now choose whether or not you want to move on to Bootcamp Light, which allows a bit of fruit, some nuts/seeds and alcohol - all in moderation of course!

If you prefer, and if it's suiting you, you can stay on Bootcamp - or you could do a mix of both. So Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend. Up to you.

Good luck whichever approach you take

6lb in total. Reasonably pleased. Someone mentioned I was looking slimmer this morning. Smile

PopsicleBopsicle · 20/02/2017 14:39

3 off today to make total of 4. Very jealous of you 7+ers!

B: lardons and avocado
L: green salad with feta and lardons
D: Spanish chicken with some veg

dementedma · 20/02/2017 14:43

haven't weighed today as couldn't face it but must man up tomorrow and record the damage.
Being good again, HB egg for Breakfast, home made cauliflower soup for lunch, sucking down the water.

RupertsMum2 · 20/02/2017 15:02

1lb this week. I could really do with a whoosh. This is the start of my week 6 and 10lbs lost in total so that cheers me up.

B. FF Greek yogurt with berries
L. Chicken leg with skin, salad, coleslaw, half an avocado, mayo
D. Tuna steak cooked in butter, broccoli with grated cheese

mrwalkensir · 20/02/2017 16:16

playmobilpeacock · 20/02/2017 16:34

Thank you for your last post Stuntnun

I really needed to hear that.

maggiso · 20/02/2017 16:35

Hope you don't mind me joining in BIWI and all. Sorry I missed the start. I think I can remember the rules for the first two weeks, (Its a couple of years since I last joined in and I've gradually gone back to eating higher carbs - especially since cooking for long term family guests (young hungry adults) -but can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Patapouf · 20/02/2017 16:54

STS this week, exactly the same, which is frustrating. I've followed the rules so I'm going to KOKO and hope for a whoosh. I've been reminding myself all day that weight loss isn't linear, especially because work put on tea & biscuits, sandwiches and crisps and I was sat grumbling into my lunch feeling resentful that I hadn't seen a loss on the scales.

B: mini Cumberland sausages
L: mozzarella, cucumber and a bit of spring onion salad with basil and olive oil.
D: roast pork belly, ALL of the cracklig (DH isn't home Grin) , cauliflower cheese and Swede mash. But carbier veg wise than I would like but I've got to use what's left in the fridge before a big shop tomorrow.

2.5/3.5 of water so far, hoping to go to the gym this evening too.

Almahart · 20/02/2017 17:20

STS but I feel fantastic!! Really energetic and my skin looks great. Lost five pounds in week one, so am happy

Planning to stick to BC for now

wombattoo · 20/02/2017 18:10

Hello everyone.
Great post Stunt thank you.
Very weight added
Loony as you will see from the thread, these are notorious weeks for stall. Chin up and koko.
Leo Congratulation Thanks
maggiso Welcome. If click on the link in BIWI'S OP it will take you to the spreadsheet. There are tabs along the bottom which contain the rules, the carb counts for most veg and some links/pointers to interesting reading. If you are unsure, just post and someone will answer.
demented My week was like yours. I'll climb back on the wagon with you. Grin

Imissmy0ldusername · 20/02/2017 18:23

Grrr, crummy day at work - pah. Small loss this week, but there's some hormonal nonsense going on, so I'm not entirely surprised.

B: omlette with cheese, mushrooms & bacon
L: leftover beef shin
D: Chicken stuffed with brie and wrapped in streaky bacon.

Hopefully a better day tomorrow - I've not strayed, which I'm proud of, normally a day like today would have me diving head first into beer & pizza!

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 20/02/2017 18:29

ok so my daily weight tracker says since Wednesday lost 5lb, yeah. but not so faster the weekly says I gained 1.3lbs. oh fart. :)

So the midweek peanut feast and 6lb overnight weight gain is almost reset.

  • temperatures this week so back on the bike instead of the bus. Riding the puddles is way more fun than ICE. Did the 22km round trip yesterday for a test ride and not to much soreness. will be working on the nerve to join a spin class.
Aderyn2016 · 20/02/2017 18:34

What is koko?

Lexa47 · 20/02/2017 18:57

Aderyn it's keep on keeping on.

Which I've been doing this week, my week 3, been a bit hard, blip for Valentines meal but 1 lb down so pleased. I'm going to carry on with BC until after the niece's wedding.

B: coyo
L: LC green veg soup, poached egg plonked in
D: pork chop and BC coleslaw, and salad

stealtheatingtunnocks · 20/02/2017 18:59

I STS, but, I'm pleased with that because I was away with work for four days and that is usually a binge-alone-in-the-hotel-room-fest. I didn't do that at all, bought myself olives and prawns and kabanos to munch on for dinner and only ate with the rest of folk once.

I did land up having a fair bit of wine on the two nights out I went on. And ate the free sandwiches on the train on the way home. But, even so, this is a huge behaviour change for me, so, I'm pretty chuffed.

Am staying on BC, but, lite at the weekends.

Aderyn2016 · 20/02/2017 19:47

Thank you Lexa

RupertsMum2 · 20/02/2017 20:56

Does anyone know how to make coconut porridge? I've googled but they all seem to have oats or other baddies in them.

mrwalkensir · 20/02/2017 21:05

thanks StuntNun - that's going to be a useful reminder when things get stagnant Smile

SayrraT · 20/02/2017 21:07

I love coconut porridge, mine is:

Desiccated coconut
Ground almonds
Coconut milk
Double cream

I can't remember the quantity because I use a wee measuring cup.

SayrraT · 20/02/2017 21:08

Have you looked on the recipe thread, I might have posted it there.

Hesdeadjim · 20/02/2017 21:20

Lamb and fresh mint burgers with a flat mushroom 'bun' and garlic mayo... nomnomnomnomnom...

SummerSazz · 20/02/2017 21:22

Posted on old thread - 2lb off, 8 in total (5 weeks) - pleased for half term and AF week as no food cheating and just a couple of wines. Have upped the exercise and done 5k runs for each of the last 3 days so hoping for a bigger loss this week.

Oh forgot to post food!

B: coffee with cream
S: FF yog with berries
L: egg muffins with chorizo, salad
D: 2 burgers with cheese served in a lettuce wrap

E: 30DS level 1

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 20/02/2017 21:41

2lbs off this week so 5lbs on total.

Am doing well to avoid the usual traps even though it was a very tricky week.

It didn't even take much willpower to resist the extreme temptation that was put in my way - now that the carb craving has passed, I'm not tempted some crappy biscuit sek cation. It'd have to be a bloody nice biscuit to be worth it!

Aim for this week - exercise, keep up the good work with the water on weekends as well

Thanks for the support folks especially to the 'official ' support team.
