Week 3 - Spring Low Carb Bootcamp - To B or to BC, that is the question!

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet

I see from the last thread that some of you have already weighed in - well done to those who've lost and commiserations with those of you who haven't.

We now enter week 3, which is notorious (along with week 4) for being a bit of a bugger of a week Grin

At this point, you'll see weight loss slow, stop or even reverse. It's a very, very common thing. So if this happens to you, don't panic - it's perfectly normal. Your body is adjusting, and weight loss will resume again, assuming that you keep on keeping on.

You can now choose whether or not you want to move on to Bootcamp Light, which allows a bit of fruit, some nuts/seeds and alcohol - all in moderation of course!

If you prefer, and if it's suiting you, you can stay on Bootcamp - or you could do a mix of both. So Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend. Up to you.

Good luck whichever approach you take

Guys HELP. I'm at a work conference tomorrow with lunch provided, what do I do????

thenightsky · 20/02/2017 21:54

He I've had this dilemma. I pick the good stuff out and push the rest around my plate. And drink gallons of fizzy water out of my wine glass.

thenightsky · 20/02/2017 21:55

Oh and cheese board instead of pudding.... just pick at the cheese and put the biscuits out of sight.

Heybebe · 20/02/2017 22:05

I've stayed the same. Bit annoyed but will KOKO!

Veryflummoxed · 20/02/2017 22:05

Yesterday's food was:
Bf scrambled eggs
Lunch tuna steak and ratatouille (I left the onion)
Dinner lc sausages and cauli cheese

This week I'm going to aim to reduce my portion sizes a little and to nip my exercise by walking as much as I can.

GuyMartinsSideburns · 21/02/2017 07:30

Good morning! I forgot to weigh yesterday, could someone please add mine to the spreadsheet? 130, thanks.

Hope you all have a good day Smile

BursarsFrogs · 21/02/2017 07:31

Looks very tasty Veryflummoxed

I've had another feta omelette for breakfast today.
Unsure about lunch, since I'll be out and not sure where I'll eat. Thinking of slicing myself some avocado to take with me, just in case.
Dinner will be bolognese and courgetti.

Veryflummoxed · 21/02/2017 07:53

It was Bursar.

I too am working on my portion size. I find posting pictures helps with that. I dish up less to start with and it makes me think twice about going back for seconds. I find it relatively easy to postpone eating but much harder to stop once I start. Also since starting BC last year I gave my self the rule of only eating at the table in the room without the TV. This was a huge help. Since Christmas the occasional sofa eating has crept in and I need to nip it in the bud.

HeyRoly · 21/02/2017 07:57

Took some time off for half term but now I'm back! Could someone add me to the spreadsheet at 133 please? Smile

Aderyn2016 · 21/02/2017 08:06

I think I did okay yesterday. Bf was eggs and home made coleslaw, dinner was steak and mushroom fried on butter with some green beans and a tomato. Snack was olives. Also greek yoghurt. Bought a vanilla grinder to make yoghurt nicer and to add to creamy coffee.

dementedma · 21/02/2017 08:08

1lb back on so got not as bad as expected given I crashed and burned

Musicianofbremen · 21/02/2017 09:38

Oh no he's dead.

I had marscapone and a few black berries for breakfast today it was delicious.

Really need to up may water intake though and now that I an running again the insatiable hunger has returned.

MyShinyThing · 21/02/2017 10:00

I think I'm going to have to give up on breakfast, I felt so queasy after my eggs this morning & am only just starting to feel better.

I've also read the diet doctor piece on cheating, it makes so much sense. I think if I'd stuck to a couple of glasses of wine & a piece of birthday cake at the weekend (it was my birthday) the damage wouldn't have been to bad & it would have been worth it. But I didn't stop at that & have undone all the work from the previous week instead!

But now I'm determined to stick with it, I want to be a stone down by the time I go to New York in April.

B: Eggs & a spoonful of mayonnaise
L: Cauliflower & broccoli soup
D: Bacon, scrambled eggs, celeriac rosti & spinach.

Lots & lots of mint tea!

Probably too many eggs today!

LazydaysofSummer · 21/02/2017 10:23

Found it pretty much impossible to eat LC whilst on holiday, so restricted myself to just one meal a day, and tried to opt for a high protein option. But did end up having a couple of glasses of wine each evening, which was nice, but will be knocked on the head now I'm no longer on holiday.

Weighed in this morning and the damage either isn't as bad as I expected or just hasn't registered on the scales yet, as it was a small loss.

Full BC mode for the next two weeks for me.

Lucy7400 · 21/02/2017 10:38

Morning all. Todays food is

B. Poached egg and mushrooms in butter
L. Chicken soup
D. Duck and spring onions.

RupertsMum2 · 21/02/2017 11:01

Thank you Sayrra. I started looking ar the recipe thread but it was taking soooo long as I had to keep reading each recipe, thinking how nice it sounded and working out if I had the right ingredients without shopping. So I decided I would just ask!

B. FF yogurt with berries
L. Chicken leg, salad, mayo.
D. Beef burger, celeriac chips, greens

playmobilpeacock · 21/02/2017 11:04

Good morning.

I went for my first run since starting BC and it was TOUGH! I couldn't run as far or as fast and my legs hurt and I got a stitch.

I guess my body is still getting used to fat burning for energy.

B- coffee and cream
L- omelette and salad
D- chicken curry of some description

Now off to lie in a heap...

Visaste · 21/02/2017 11:42

1lb off for me, which I'm v pleased with because I've been low-carbing since Sept. I fell off the wagon at Christmas and it's been tough getting back on. I have about half a stone to lose by end of March for final wedding dress fitting!!!

Thank you BIWI for running the BC - it's getting me back on track Flowers

Anyone else with PCOS and noticed a change in symptoms since LCing? My symptoms definitely improved within 3 months of LCHF diet, and then went pear-shaped after Christmas when I fell off the wagon.

maggiso · 21/02/2017 13:36

Wombatoo thanks! I had forgotten about the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet. I made a chicken couscous last night with cauliflower couscous for me. I am off to buy lots of lower carb vegetables and some mint tea, as I struggle with black tea/coffee. I am not sure what to make for tea - 95% sausages and veg perhaps (+mash for the boys).

wombattoo · 21/02/2017 16:59

Hello everyone
Hesdead That burger looks amazing.
s/s updated.

GrassWillBeGreener · 21/02/2017 17:06

I also love the sound of coconut porridge; will have to try it. I've had sausage and egg breakfast 3 or 4 days running (was a godsend on the weekend as I was out of the house by 7:30 am and home late both days). This morning I actually felt like something less and had celery and mashed salmon (ie tinned salmon mashed with mayonaisse and tarragon, had it in the fridge already). Lunch came around a little early but that's ok.

I've also looked at that cheating post and found it helpful, thanks. I'll try to use the "warning" about week 3 as extra motivation to stick to things this week, feels like I need it.

TomHaverford · 21/02/2017 17:10

Are brussel sprouts a no no? I think i remember they are higher carb but cant look at the spreadsheet at the moment. tx

CaptainBraandPants · 21/02/2017 17:45

Tom I hope not, I love brussel sprouts. Looking at the spreadsheet, they are 3.5g of carbs per 100g, so I don't think that's too bad.
Well, I'm home now and back at work Sad
Don't know whether to feel pleased or not. I'm 0.2lbs down from last week. I was 1 lb down on Friday before I went away, so I've put on 0.8lbs whilst away. Which is good that I didn't put more on, but I was sooo good! Grin I guess I need to think about how much I would have put on if I hadn't been good. Also, tbh, I didn't really miss the crap I would normally have eaten. I still had a great time.

Today, I have had:
B - coffee and cream x2
L - egg mayonnaise salad
D - salmon with courgetti in cream cheese and other veg
S - another creamy coffee.
