Evening all!

Just getting this out there, so that everyone knows where to go/what to do in the morning.

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I'd like to say a massive thank you and Flowers to Sayrra and Wombattoo who set this up and maintain it for us all.

PLEASE don't touch anything other than the cell where you input your weight.

If your name isn't on the list, just add it to the bottom, and it will be magically re-alphabetised to include you.

It's called the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness because of all the information and resources that are available to us. Look at the tabs at the bottom - the rules are there, along with the veg counter, and all manner of resources for you to read up more about low carbing.

If you can't access it, or can't input your weight, just add your weight to the chat thread, and someone will do it for you. (I believe it's difficult to do it from your phone).

But more than anything else, a massive good luck to you all!

All I can say to you is follow the rules!

It does work, but only if you follow them.

Good luck everyone.

Steak here too, with garlic mushrooms and spinach , along with a couple of gallons of water, trying to catch up on what I should have got through earlier.

Musicianofbremen · 11/02/2017 20:05

😃 it does sound quite luxurious reading it back. Definitely my kind of LC.

Aldi have some good small cheeses for 90p each. I bought a goats cheese and a Camembert which I plan on having with dressed leaves for lunches next week.

Glitterkitten24 · 11/02/2017 20:23

Do you know what I love about this woe? I can make good choices on it, I can order low carb food because I know that's what I need to do. In the past I've done slimming world and calorie counting and because I feel deprived, I cheat. But not on this, I've never enjoyed my food more!

Today we had a family day out and ended up in McDonald's- I had a grilled chicken and bacon salad and a coffee instead of my usual carb fest.

Just been to Aldi to stock up on veg and fish. Bought some really low carb bratwurst to have for breakie tomorrow with my eggs, can't wait to try them!

Haven't had dinner yet but might have some mackerel fillets on leeks with some asparagus.
Can't wait for weigh in on Monday!

StuntNun · 11/02/2017 20:28

I'm looking forward to getting home tomorrow so I can weigh in on Monday and see how much damage I have done my staying at the house of carbs my mum's.

B: four eggs scrambled, CoYo with two strawberries (again pleading reasons of scurvy!)
L: three roasted chicken drumsticks with salad leaves, Caesar dressing and coleslaw
Snack: Babybel
D: beef curry with aubergine and okra. My DBro made the curry and put some potato in but otherwise it was pretty low carb.

Youcandoit36 · 11/02/2017 20:42

Ok- hope this is ok. I am pescatarian so it feels like I have fewer option

Youcandoit36 · 11/02/2017 20:44

Veryflummoxed · 11/02/2017 21:34

Week 1 Early Spring Low Carb Bootcamp - at last!
dementedma · 11/02/2017 21:50

I followed a recipe for low carb muffins today and dear God they are vile! Even teen Ds won't eat them and he eats anything! The birds are going to get a low carb feed tomorrow

Patapouf · 11/02/2017 22:19

B:scrambled eggs with spinach, butter and a bit of ham
L: naked burger and 2 mozzarella sticks. This was a mistake 😔
D: steak stroganoff with spinach, green beans and courgetti

Im really cross with myself because I've done so well this week, at least I went to the gym. I've only managed 2.75/3.5 l of water so far so I've got to squeeze a few more glasses in.

As a result of the stupid mozzarella sticks my carbs came in at 39g instead of the 20ish it's been since Monday. I'm hoping if I'm v. strict tomorrow I won't have ruined all my hard work!

Youcandoit36 · 12/02/2017 07:07

Really cross with myself.because I was in on sat night, are too much of my curry and has spoonfuls cream. Need to break the emotional eating habits

Imissmy0ldusername · 12/02/2017 07:26

Morning bootcampers! Cool bag is in the freezer ready for packing a picnic for a 2 hour train journey. I'm thinking chicken mayo (I found the roast garlic mayo from M&S was the lowest carb by a significant margin), avocado, olives stuffed with anchovies, lettuce and cucumber. NO EGGS!

Yesterday's sugar-grump has lifted - it was a bit like a Dry January grump - interesting....

I'm not sure what breakfast is going to involve yet, possibly a bacon / avocado / haloumi / mushrooms combo. I need to add garlic infused olive oil to my shopping list, I'm craving it something rotten!

Have a lovely day fellow Boot Campers, nearly a week down - well done everyone!

StuntNun · 12/02/2017 07:37

Youcandoit once we're into Bootcamp Light then vegetarians and pescatarians can cautiously add in some pulses, especially if you're having trouble getting enough protein. They're all on the carby side so they can only be used in small portions. Lentils, edamame beans and flageolet beans are around 10g carbs per 100g or lower but it's best to read all the labels and find the lowest carb options. You need to look at the value for drained weight (canned) or for "cooked as directed". Lentils and pulses aren't really low carb so all of you meat eaters should avoid them if you don't want to risk BIWI'a big stick!

I've just started day 3 and I'm feeling a bit peculiar Confused

I feel a bit sort of muggy and spaced, and I bit like I've just had a heavy cold but I'm recovering.. except I haven't.

Energy is coming in fits and starts, one minute I want to go to the gym and just RUN and the next I feel exhausted and want a nap.. what's that about??

TMI: any tips for constipation? Blush

MrsJBaptiste · 12/02/2017 09:19

Thanks BIWI for the advice re. upping carbs. I won't now feel as guilty if I have a few more than I used to!

I have to say this thread is brilliant, so much advice here and it's great to see everyone's meal plans and get some food ideas too!

Imissmy0ldusername · 12/02/2017 09:19

@Hesdeadjim - that sounds pretty normal to me - and I hear you on the bunged up thing. Loads of water was my "go to" on that one. I'm off the eggs today as well - as my granny used to say "eggs is binding" - not sure how much truth there is in that one, but the phrase sure came back to me during the week!

The brain fog thing is a bit of a bugger. I had it at the beginning of the week, quite badly, tbh. Pleased to report I came out the other side of it, and have been playing a blinder at work ever since (no carb coma after lunch!). Yesterday was a bit of a meh day, but I'm firing on all 4 cylinders now (DH has just gone to work early to escape my slightly terrifying Tigger impersonation!).

I suspect that without the sugar to give me the oomph, I've just had to accept that I need a proper quiet day at least once a week to recover from noisy office nonsense. This isn't something I'd have done before.

Musicianofbremen · 12/02/2017 09:34

Morning, still at it here. I'm finding myself not as hungry in the mornings but still craving something sweet.

Today:
B: thin omelette filled with goats cheese and spinach (delicious)
L: mozzarella and tomato again
D: roast pork with crackling, broccoli and cauliflower cheese, buttered spinach.

OwlInAnOakTree · 12/02/2017 10:21

1lb back on yesterday and another 1lb back on today! Ugh.

Plodding on though... Smile

B: two egg omelette with pancetta and a bit of cheese
L: feta, cucumber and tomato with olive oil and a bit of balsamic
D: roast pork with buttered broccoli & caulifower

Hope everyone has a good day today before weigh-in tomorrow.

wombattoo · 12/02/2017 11:15

Hello everyone. I'm enjoying reading everyone's posts and meal plans.
It has been quite a social weekend for me and alcohol has been consumed but I did stick mainly to vodka/soda.
I had a curry last night and a bit of rice. Suffice to say, it has solved my constipation troubles Blush
I am hoping that I haven't done too much damage. the scales of truth will reveal all in the morning.

playmobilpeacock · 12/02/2017 11:21

Good morning all.

I took a big bowl of guacamole out with me last night. I did look a bit of a weirdo and I did look on longingly at the crisps and chocolates but I held strong.

I came downstairs this morning to discover that DH had eaten all my breakfast muffins so I had Thai curry.

Lunch is roast chicken with cheesy leeks, green beans, cauliflower and peas for everyone except me.

Dinner will be leftovers.

Has anyone else been feeling really hyper? I've been quite manic these last two days Confused.

playmobilpeacock · 12/02/2017 11:23

For constipation, I have a fizzy magnesium tablet that gets things moving! Similar to berocca and I got from Boots.

BIWI · 12/02/2017 11:32

If you're feeling a bit weird/spacey, it could be your electrolyte balance that's out of what.

So I'll repeat like a stuck record! that you need to make sure you're having plenty of sodium, magnesium and potassium.

If you're drinking the amount of water that you should be, sodium is especially important. Cook with salt, add it to your food and also consider having a hot drink made from Oxo/Bovril or Marmite.

Other sources of magnesium and potassium are salmon, avocado, spinach and full fat natural yoghurt.

OP posts:
playmobilpeacock · 12/02/2017 11:40

I don't feel weird or spacey as such. Just a bit wired! Someone mentioned Tigger and that's more like it.

Not really like me to be like that. Fairly sure I'm keeping my electrolytes up too.

BIWI · 12/02/2017 11:42

Sorry playmobil my post was more in reference to Hesdeadjim!

If you feel wired (not weird!) it's because of all the extra energy you have! Use it up by going for a walk/run?!

OP posts:
Imissmy0ldusername · 12/02/2017 12:05

Yep, Tigger here! I've just terrified some friends I bumped into at the train station. I think I had better investigate the opportunities for going swimming either before or after work, otherwise I'm going to be unbearable!
I must be some sort of masochist. I went into Hotel Du Chocolat to buy my mum a little bag of posh chocs. They are now taunting me from my handbag!
