Right it's time to get back in the low carb saddle. I basically follow boot camp rules. That works very well for me. I find getting into ketosis hard so making my public declaration of intent here. Planning to weigh and measure shortly.

So I'm starting today. Whingeing about carb flu all the way. Join me

Clopy 4lb is great. Sometimes it can just be case of 'keeping the faith' and the weight will shift.
very I see that you eat natural yoghurt. Some brands can be quite high in carbs. I think it's the Greek yoghurt that is lower carb. Total full fat is around 3gms I think? but I don't like it

Bibblewanda · 24/01/2017 17:28

I can't get on with plain full fat Greek (as in unsweetened). Even with vanilla it just tastes bland.

lasttimeround · 24/01/2017 17:35

I have the orgasmic duck. Can't wait for dinner. I seriously love both boot camp and lidl

wombattoo · 24/01/2017 17:39

Bibble No me neither. I like natural yoghurt, just not the greek style.
last there was a bootcamp a couple of years ago where many of the posters raved about the orgasmic duck, then I think Lidl stopped selling it. There were stampedes when it came back in stock. Unfortunately, I don't like duck.

ClopySow · 24/01/2017 17:40

B - coffee with cream and two egg muffins
L - salad with chicken thigh and avocado
D - pork chops, cauli mash and braised cabbage

17 million gallons of water

lasttimeround · 24/01/2017 18:22

It's through boot camp I learned of the duck. Tey don't always stock it but when then do I'm on it like a flash. Duck always used to be made guilty pleasure. I love it but it's so fatty that I rarely ate it. Ha ha not anymore

Today:

B leftover salmon fillet, mashed avocado, hard boiled egg

L broccoli, hard boiled egg and feta salad dressed in olive oil and lemon

D fried peppers, red onion, chorizo and halloumi with sour cream and guacamole

Snacks: spoonful of leftover fried courgette, small amount of ff Greek yoghurt with double cream (bleugh)

and a freddo but we won't talk about that

Feel like this was waaaayyy too much but I was hungry today!!!

MiniCooperLover · 24/01/2017 21:20

BibbleWanda, I find a dribble of Double Cream on top of Greek yoghurt gives it a nice taste.

MiniCooperLover · 24/01/2017 21:20

Oh sorry, just seen you did that and didn't like it, oops

MiniCooperLover · 24/01/2017 21:22

What is the duck from Lidl that people are mentioning???

MiniCooperLover · 24/01/2017 21:44

Also, I apologise, but I've spent ages searching and can't fund the recipe people talk about for BIWI's low carb bread? Could someone please share it? Thank you

nekobus · 24/01/2017 21:53

Yes do tell about the orgasmic duck!!

Mini low carb bread here: www.thelondoner.me/2014/03/mums-low-carb-bread.html

Flibberty flax is also known as linseed so the flax meal is sometimes sold as ground linseed (I get mine in Aldi - the plain one as there are versions with berries etc added)

I'm still here lurking away and really appreciate all your posts for inspiration and motivation Smile I've not seen any results in the scales but have tried to curb my hunger with more water and fat.

Today:
B - flax bread, butter, marmite. A few olives
L - crispy bacon strips, babybel, chorizo, chicken breast dipped in mayo (car picnic before meeting!)
D - steak, mushroom with garlic butter, broccoli and cauliflower with lots of butter
S - 85% choc, coffee and cream (from Starbucks!)

Managed to avoid the biscuits at my meeting, mainly as I was v nervous standing in for someone else at the last minute and didn't really know the subject I was presenting that well...

nekobus · 24/01/2017 21:55

Doh! Sorry mini you meant the one BIWI posted which is from Tom Kerridge cookbook - sorry it is on here somewhere l'll see if I can find it!

BIWI · 24/01/2017 21:55

Mini the recipe I used is from Tom Kerridge's new book. However, I believe there is a recipe for flaxseed bread on this thread.

Flibbertyjibbit · 24/01/2017 22:16

Thank you nekobus - I didn't realise ground linseed was the same as flax. Shall see if I can get it lidl (a lot closer) if not I shall head to Aldi.

Day 9 on boot camp rules - I'm feeling pretty good. Think I'm finally rid of my headache.

What is this orgasmic duck you talk of at lidl?

Notso · 24/01/2017 22:31

Back on the wagon after a boozy/carby weekend. Why do people push food on others, was trying really hard at a dinner party. There was cauliflower soup for starter which I thought was safe but later learned it was thickened with potato, salmon, roast pork and meatballs with salad for main, was pestered to have bread with soup and potatoes with main then again at pudding, "just have a bit, a tiny bit, go on, go on" so frustrating.

AdoraBell · 24/01/2017 23:49

Anyone mind if I sneak in a place mark? Thinking of getting off sugar, haven't tried before

lasttimeround · 25/01/2017 08:51

The duck. Lidl often do speciality broccoli at the same time. You can blanch or pat boil it then fry in the rendered fat.

Welcome everyone new btw. There's boot camp rules on a tab on the spreadsheet. Most delicious way of losing weight ever you just need to get your head round a different way of shopping. Basically protein and fat are your friends.

Veryflummoxed · 25/01/2017 09:30

Thanks wombatt. I do usually have the Fage total Greek (I'm in the love Greek yogurt just as it is camp) also the Liddl Greek one, I'll check the carb on that. I am overdoing the dairy though I think.

Last thank you for posting that picture, ever since last bootcamp I've been keeping a vague eye out for something labelled orgasmic duck Blush

Yesterday was a bit better. Definitely more water, and hopefully just about enough.

Breakfast coffee with cream.

Lunch was some pork chop, on the run so nothing with it.

Dinner. Chicken in a cream and tarragon sauce with a splash of wine and mushrooms. Served with cauliflower and celeriac mash. And very nice it was too.

MiniCooperLover · 25/01/2017 10:56

In the attached recipe it says 'a cup of ground almonds'. What does that generally translate to weight wise do people think??

Starting today - low carb
MiniCooperLover · 25/01/2017 11:14

I think I've figured it out. Have gone with 125g, they are in the oven so we'll see ... fingers crossed ...

Bibblewanda · 25/01/2017 12:25

I think one cup is 250g

DearPrudence · 25/01/2017 12:44

DH would like that duck. How do you cook it? Just fried?

lasttimeround · 25/01/2017 13:31

Instructions on the label. You fry it skin side down for a bit then put it in the oven. I usually fry veg (and cooked potatoes for dh) in the fat in the pan. Gorgeous and doesn't take long.
I didn't get to eat it yesterday after all as dh had cooked by the time I got home. Means I get to spend more time anticipating. He he.

Bacon, sautéed courgettes and feta for lunch. Feeling a bit bored and struggling to drink enough water.
