Right it's time to get back in the low carb saddle. I basically follow boot camp rules. That works very well for me. I find getting into ketosis hard so making my public declaration of intent here. Planning to weigh and measure shortly.

So I'm starting today. Whingeing about carb flu all the way. Join me

Hello, please can I join?

I did LC last year, and lost 1.5 stone. I stalled and lost my mojo, then sheer laziness and too much booze saw it creep on again.

This time I want to crack it all the way and lose 3 stone. We have a wedding in April, so to be even half way there by then would be brilliant.

Today I'm having:

BF: 3 eggs scrambled in butter
L: Rocket with baby toms and tuna mayo
D: Steak with cauliflower and a sprinkle of cheese

3l of water and an hour's walk.

Nice to meet you all!

Great news on proper boot camp def starting in Feb. Thank you BIWI Smile
I'm up but only because of very boozy weekend. Was seriously down on Friday .
Great successes everyone

Just had some ham and egg cups that CloppySow posted upthread. Took 12 eggs and 120ml cream to fill 24 fairy cake sized cups. Delicious!

Hello everyone new. Let's have some enthusiasm and success for a new week!

One week done for me, I'm not weighing in but I can feel that I'm losing weight. My waistline is coming in and I can see it in my face.

L: leftover chicken and leeks bake
D: strips of steak in lettuce cups with mushrooms, soft cheese and cheddar in a cream sauce

ChesterDrawers · 16/01/2017 11:09

Not weighing either but I do have a positive - DH got me a coat for Xmas which is far too tight around my mighty arse Blush. Tried it on this morning and while it still looks awful it was not as tight as it was. I have in my head I'd like to wear it to something we are going to on Jan 28th so will see how I go.

Flibbertyjibbit · 16/01/2017 11:20

today's plan is

b - 1 egg fried

Flibbertyjibbit · 16/01/2017 11:21

new app seems to be deleting half my posts. sorry

Veryflummoxed · 16/01/2017 11:49

Ha. Good plan FlibbertyGrin

Veryflummoxed · 16/01/2017 11:56

That serves me right for laughing. I posted too soon.

Brilliant news BIWI Thanks.

Back on track this morning. Not annoying Chester, encouraging. Looking forward to a picture of your rear fitting that coat to perfection

DH has returned to the house with flaxseed following me emailing him the low carb bread link from up thread so looking forward to that. Slightly anxious though as I can imagine me overdoing it. It may be something I need to save for at target.

chatnanny · 16/01/2017 15:17

Re the cloudbread. I have an aversion to eggy things. I made low carb 'bread' once before but the texture was just too eggy for me. Is this eggy? As a guide I'm fine with pancakes and roulades (always find cheese roulades useful on LC). I can't eat omelette unless I replace most of the eggs with just yolks and that's the same with quiche. I found several recipes here: authority nutrition.com/15-low-carb-bread-recipes I wondered if anyone had any recommendations.

toffeeboffin · 16/01/2017 15:56

Thanks for confirming BIWI Grin

toffeeboffin · 16/01/2017 15:57

Crikey flibberty, how low can you go?! One egg ShockGrin

wombattoo · 16/01/2017 16:12

Back on it today.
B: 2 hard boiled eggs
L: Chicken salad with mayo
D: Will be steak, mushrooms in butter and sprouts
S: Crispy pork strips
Probably not enough water

SharkSkinThing · 16/01/2017 17:47

First day done though didn't get my walk in. May go a bit later once DS in bed but it's so bloody cold!

Am off tomorrow so may get a huge stomp in along the beach to make up for it.

Spot on with food and almost finished my second litre of water.

Hope everyone else has been OK.

Flibbertyjibbit · 16/01/2017 17:58

My one egg kept me full till lunch Grin

L- avocado & bacon salad
D- creamy chicken with broccoli

Aderyn2016 · 16/01/2017 18:19

Chat if you mske the flaxbread it doesn't taste eggy at all. The cloud bread does though - I would use it like a burger bun - it seems to 'go' well with meat.

So today had 2 slices of flaxbread with butter and marmite for breakfast and 2 slices for lunch with a chink of brie and a handful of walnuts.
Dinner will be pork chops, steamed cauliflower and some roasted celeriac, swede and onions (but not too much).
Have been drinking some water but probably not enough and some coffee and fruit tea.
Would kill for a glass of red wine Wink

CaptainBraandPants · 16/01/2017 19:06

Had left overs for lunch - roast pork, cheesy mashed cauli, broccoli and sprouts with bacon. it was just as good second time around.
Dinner tonight is off the DietDoctor website. I've not tried it before, but it sounds and smells lovely: pesto chicken with olives and feta, with a side of kale.

chatnanny · 16/01/2017 19:48

Thanks Aderyn I'll try the flax bread. Also came across a cauliflower bread which sounds hopeful.
Today I had half an avocado for breakfast
Some chilli mince for lunch with some soured cream and tomato
Tonight I had chicken breast with Boursin, green beans and a rocket salad.
Probably haven't drunk enough water but the first few days always make we pee so much and I don't want to be up half the night.
Will up the water tomorrow.

Veryflummoxed · 16/01/2017 22:19

Lunch was left over dinner. ( roast turkey leg, mashed swede and broccoli)
Dinner was gammon with creamy leeks roasted cauliflower and broccoli.

DH made the flax bread, it looks lovely. I can't decide whether I'm going to have it toasted or not and whether I'm having it with butter and marmite or butter and eggs. Decisions decisions.

Veryflummoxed · 16/01/2017 22:20

For breakfast in the mornings that is.

DearPrudence · 16/01/2017 22:23

Room sorting could have been worse Captain. I mean there were recriminations and moaning and no-one really enjoyed themselves but the result was good Smile

Thanks for confirming next bootcamp BIWI.

Week 2 weigh in today - lost 2lb. Was a smidge disappointed not to lose more, but I need to drink more water.

Today was a bit of a disaster - coffee on the way to work then literally no time to eat anything until I got home at nearly 7pm. Felt terrible. DH had steak, Boursin and veg ready to scoff, but it doesn't feel right.

Keep going everyone

SharkSkinThing · 17/01/2017 06:51

Morning everyone, hope all is well.

Woke up feeling great, clear headed and ready to crack on.

Today will be:

BF: Eggs scrambled with butter
L: Steak and mushrooms and a few roast toms
D: Mash cauliflower and courgettes with cheese
S: A couple of boiled eggs
2 - 3l of water

A day off today so need to blitz the house and get a decent walk in.

Have great days everyone.

BetsyM00 · 17/01/2017 07:53

Day 9 in the low carb house - and DH and I have gone through 45 eggs!

ChesterDrawers · 17/01/2017 08:54

Betsy Shock Day 11 here, but I doubt I've got through that many.

Dying to weigh myself but am resisting. I did ask DH to hide the scales but he's not done so yet. Must remind him otherwise I know I'll crack at some point and I know that way, Crazy Chester lies...

Today's plan:
B: FF yog, double cream
L: omelette with left over pork, mushrooms, shallots and cheese
D: chicken 'risotto' with cauli rice

I am sleeping so much better than I have been. I use a Fitbit and most nights I am now getting pretty decent chunks of sleep whereas my sleep graph is usually like a barcode. I am not sure if it's down to the LC or not drinking alcohol but either way it makes a pleasant change. I am still so tired all the time though, not sure if my body is trying to make up for the last six years of broken sleep

Notso · 17/01/2017 10:42

Hit a bit of a blip as DS3 has had chicken pox since Sunday night and I've not been able to get to the shops. I ate pasta last night Hmm I have in celeriac, cauliflower, leeks, a tiny bit of cheese, cream, pastrami and sausages any ideas of a meal I can make from that? Can sneak to the corner shop when DD gets in but it has v.limited choice. I don't eat eggs which is a pain and I annoy myself over it daily.

ChesterDrawers · 17/01/2017 11:54

Not so, I'd probably fry up the meaty stuff and add it to an oven proof dish with the veggies chopped small, pour over cream, top with cheese and bake. I've yet to find any meal that's not vastly improved by the addition of cream and cheese.

And can you organise an online shop to come tomorrow so at least you can plan some good meals for the rest of the week?
