Thanks everyone. BIWI you're right, I know! It's just annoying - I could understand better if I'd been really lazy and eaten, say, a cake! It's the blooming alcohol, I know it: three wines on Thurs, three G&Ts on Fri, and too much prosecco on Sat! And all the while I'm smugly proud of myself for having created a super low carb picnic thanks M&S - although I did then eat lots of cherries at said picnic 
You're right about exercise too, but I do enjoy it as you say, so I'll just try to stop expecting miracles from it.
Right, my hol is in two weeks and these very unwelcome five pounds had better watch out. Adding in 16:8, plenty of fat, plenty of water, watch the dairy, no nuts or berries and NO alcohol
