Morning all!

for the last time this Bootcamp, is the Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness

I hope that this Bootcamp has been successful for you. I have to say, it's been one of the most trouble-free Grin

I'm certainly carrying on, and with a bit more focus Blush given that we now have a holiday booked in 11 weeks time, that will mean I need to be ready to don a swimsuit.

Hi Nekobus. I had to google almond butter pouch, didn't know what it was but looks very handy.

I've had (day 3)

B 3 egg mushroom omelette.
L piece of Stilton, slice of beef.
D steak. Mushrooms. shallots. Cauliflower cheese

Hi Flummoxed, I found the pip & nut pouches in holland and barrat but they now do them in my local sainsburys. It stops me from dipping a spoon in the jar again and again...Grin and handy to grab on the go. BC light of course Wink

How do you do your cauliflower cheese? Last time I tried my sauce was way to rich!

Report
Veryflummoxed · 13/10/2016 16:20

It is rich, cream and cheese. Don't use too much cream and strong cheddar so not very saucy. I'd be lethal with a jar and a spoon I'll look out for some pouches for a treat after the first two weeks of bootcamp

Has anyone got a recipe for cauliflower cheese which doesn't use cream but us low carb? I cannot find cream anywhere here in Spain. The closest I came was creme fraiche but it wasn't very nice.

Report
nekobus · 15/10/2016 14:08

Margaritas have you looked for uht on the shelves, that's often where the cream is in Spain and France. Little square cartons. Although I'm sure creme fraiche would do or plain cream cheese thinned out with some water and then some Parmesan or strong cheese mixed in.

Yesterday was fine until I went out for dinner - all low carb until desert (plus half a bottle of wine....)
B - brie, babybel (yes, just cheese Confused)
L - celery & peanut butter, chorizo, smoked cheddar
D - calamari & mayo, chicken bacon and avocado salad, followed by sticky toffee pudding Blush
S - coffee & cream, a few too many teas while out (with milk), dark choc.

Not a great day...

Thanks Nekobus I hadn't thought of that. I've been using cream cheese but I'm notthat keen.

Brunch A sausage and two fried eggs.

Snack. Coffee with cream. Cube of cheese.

Dinner. Roast pork with crackling. Roast pumpkin. Sprouts. (Not sure if pumpkin is allowed. Brought one for Halloween but it wasn't going to last.)

Flummoxed I think pumpkin is quite high in carbs.
I am still floundering Sad but trying. I have made a curry for my lunches for next week and boiled some eggs for my breakfast tomorrow.

Hello... I'm a deserter from about week 8, but I'm back on the wagon now and signed up to the next BC.
Wondered if I could ask a quick question?
I'm out for a work meal tomorrow evening at a Thai place. It's not something I have ever eaten when LCing, could anyone tell me what the best options are likely to be? I'll obviously avoid the rice/ noodles.
Thanks.

SestraClone · 16/10/2016 18:42

To be honest. I think you will struggle to find much as they add palm sugar to their recipes

Report
wombattoo · 16/10/2016 20:43

I don't think Thai is very low carb friendly. I can't help as I don't like thai food but I think they do a watery broth type soup? Just avoid the rice/noodles as you say.

Lunch. Chicken leg with skin. Swede chips. Cauliflower and broccoli with butter.

Supper. Stilton, chicken wing, a few left over swede chips and pork cracklings

Lots of black/herb/green tea. Water, but not three litres.

CaptainBraandPants · 17/10/2016 06:59

Thanks. I suspected it wouldn't be easy. Sad it wasn't my choice as I'm not keen on Thai, either. Ah well, will have to just do the best I can.

Captain Chicken satay is usually OK as a starter and then look out for Crying Tiger. But having said that, Thai is the least forgiving way of eating for a low carber. Just go with the flow and be vigilant about your carbs the rest of the day.

Thanks BIWI.
I've had halloumi and olives for breakfast and broccoli/stilton soup with chicken salad for lunch so i think the rest of the day has been ok.
Going out next week to a Chinese restaurant, hope that's a bit easier Sad

Report
nekobus · 17/10/2016 15:29

Captain, Thai is tricky, I usually have green curry without the rice but suspect there's a lot of sugar in the sauce. Enjoy having a night out and be super strict the rest of the day/week!!

I'll have to write off yesterday as it went downhill from a kids party at 11 (why did I need to raid the buffet???) but back on track today:

B - bacon, eggs, spinach and cheese.
L - chorizo, cheese, broccoli, cauliflower all sort of fried up!
D - will be leftover roast chicken & salad
S - coffee & cream x2, 85% choc melted and stirred into cream
Water - not even close to 3L yet...

Report
Veryflummoxed · 17/10/2016 19:47

Still on track, not easy like it was doing bootcamp though.

Lunch. Chicken breast with skin. Green leaves, cucumber, Mayo. And four/five left over swede chips.

Snack park crackling

Dinner fried prawns, fried halloumi, avocado, cherry tomatoes, green leaves, olive oil, mayonnaise.

Lots of drinks. Still not enough water Sadwhich is probably why I'm not loosing any weight.
