Morning all!

for the last time this Bootcamp, is the Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness

I hope that this Bootcamp has been successful for you. I have to say, it's been one of the most trouble-free Grin

I'm certainly carrying on, and with a bit more focus Blush given that we now have a holiday booked in 11 weeks time, that will mean I need to be ready to don a swimsuit.

Ah papaver that's such a shame, I kinda know how you feel about the queasiness, I feel like I'm eating too much fat and have felt quite odd at times, I do wonder how good it's for my heart. Hope you manage to find something that's sustainable and works for you.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 04/09/2016 12:29

Just had the most delicious lunch of fried haloumi and pancetta on a bed of artichokes. It was one of those - don't seem to have much in so let's throw something together - moments. Really delicious and very simple!

Sorry to hear it's not worked out for you, papaver.

breakfastbap · 04/09/2016 12:34

Well today I'm a 1lb down on the scales so that's spurring me on! I woke today and didn't feel in the slightest bit hungry so I listened to my stomach and only had a coffee with FF milk.

Lunch was delicious, was pulled, slow cooked beef with swede, broccoli and very small amount of fine green beans and a few carrot rings. All smothered in butter and black pepper.

Weekends I need to remember to drink the water as it's not on my desk as in work but it's all going well so far.

😄

BIWI · 04/09/2016 14:10

Papaver - sorry to hear that. Good luck with whatever you try next

breakfast - I did warn up up thread about the infamous weeks 3 and 4! But glad that you're another 1lb down. There's no problem about eating fat - and please go and have a look at the resources on the spreadsheet. Lots of info and links there that will explain why it's not an issue.

Re gravy, I just use the meat juices. If you like something thicker, you could always try roasting your meat on a bed of veg - something like shallots and celery perhaps, maybe a carrot? - and then mashing or processing those into the juices.

Notdeadyet - you won't necessarily have carb flu. But if you're concerned, yes I'd just ease myself in till you're through your nightmare week.

Sorry it hasn't suited you Papaver

I seem to be managing a high fat, high sugar diet at the moment. Having just moved into a new house, family keep coming round unexpectedly and bringing pastries and cakes. So I do a whole day lchf and then eat cake. I don't know these family very well and I am on their turf so don't want to put them out. Not sure what to do about it except enjoy the cake. Sob. I either break the diet or seem like an ungrateful, foreign freak. They already thin I am too thin, perhaps hence the cakes and pastires. I am not too thin, btw.

The cakes are very good ones though.

Sorry you are bowing out Papaver. I felt pretty wretched at the beginning but now I am converted. Apart from the cake.

Can I put my hand up for October boot camp too?

My first goal is to lose 2 stones - I have four to lose in total.

I have been low carbing since last Monday - been through the fog etc already and I am deffo in ketosis as I am checking every morning with ketostix ( only perk of a type one diabetic daughter)

Not hungry - but finding planning meals difficult. I am ok with dinner but breakfast and lunches seem to be the same - eggs, mayo and asparagus today.

BIWI · 04/09/2016 16:45

Welcome! Have a look at the Bootcamp recipe thread (stickied at the top of the Low Carb Bootcamp topic). There are lots of fab recipes there - no excuse for getting bored!

Really need another Bootcamp - have slipped a little with holidays. I'll be ready on the 24th October.

MothershipG · 05/09/2016 06:41

Checking in, only managed to lose 1.5 lbs this week but at least moving in the right direction.

I'm finding I get waves of carb and sugar cravings, maybe hormone related, who knows? Probably not helped by DS deciding to bake the most delicious chocolate cake. I only had a taste, honest. Smile

HammerToFall · 05/09/2016 07:48

After 2 months total failure and five pounds back on I'm starting again today!! I don't know why I do it to myself, I feel sluggish from all the carbs, I've been drinking more and have been averaging once a week at boot camp instead of four!

I'm hoping that the kids going back to school helps me get back into my routine that I know works and makes me feel so much better in myself.

PapaverSomniferum · 05/09/2016 09:43

Thanks all. Flowers

Well, I'm still here, hanging by a thread. I don't want to give up, I'm just so fed up with the nausea and diarrhoea. Sad I'll give it a week of bootcamp light and see whether my GI woes settle down. Am still eating to plan, although I started eating nuts and berries over the weekend (didn't help the queasiness, sadly, but I do feel fine so far today).

2.4lbs off this week. I'd lost nearly 2lbs by Thursday, and thought I'd gain over the weekend as I went to a party and drank prosecco plus plenty of red wine, and have started eating nuts (made a caramelised shallot and goats cheese tart with almond 'pastry' to take to the party).

That's 7.4lbs/3.4kg off in a fortnight. Smile

Right after a month of low carb failure I'm determined to get back on track (yes I've done the high fat low carbing all day then falling in with other's plans too, it's a disaster)

I'm day two now and feeling awful, hopefully that means I'm now back on track.

I've got some nice beef curry for dinner with cucumber and ff Greek yogurt. I've also taken to necking (several) glasses of water every time I go to the sink instead of sucking from a large bottle, this is working better so far.

My short term plan is back down to end of boot camp weight. Long term 7lb lower than that by start of next Bootcamp.

MothershipG · 05/09/2016 13:42

Woo hoo! Just realised I am no longer obese! My BMI is now 29.4 so I'm just very overweight GrinWink

Still got a long way to go to get to healthy weight but that's a good point to pass.

Veryflummoxed · 05/09/2016 14:33

Well done MothershipG

SestraClone · 05/09/2016 17:59

Way to go Mothership!!

Went to Nando's for lunch today, it was so tasty & filling. I had the crispy chicken thighs, salad & coleslaw. The coleslaw may not have been the best, but it was great to be able to order a yummy dinner. Breakfast was a crayfish salad and dinner was leftover lamb fried with leeks.

I have made lasagne tonight with courgette instead of pasta. I also made DH and DD a normal one with pasta. Mine looks better!

I griddled the courgette first and don't put bechemal sauce on - just cheese on the top.

Had to stop myself eating it before I put it in the oven to melt the cheese.

breakfastbap · 05/09/2016 20:40

That's sounds gorgeous, I should gets some courgettes and make pretend pasta, I don't usually eat them as I find them bitter but they might be nicer fried in butter.

inaclearingstandsaboxer · 05/09/2016 21:58

Was bloody lovely - courgettes were off our allotment

margaritasbythesea · 06/09/2016 14:01

Well done motherhood.

I am back in track. Although I just ate too much homemade burger and salad. It is 34 degrees here. Not good with an overfull stomach.

Grr auto correct!

breakfastbap · 07/09/2016 11:54

Oof I was another 1lb down yesterday morning but it appear bacon makes me gain (probably water weight)

Yesterdays food

B - 2 eggs with butter
L - Tuna in Sunflower oil with salad and FF mayo
D - Low carb sausage, couple of bacon rashers, fried egg & fried mushroom

Not enough veg yesterday - I woke this morning with a thirst like I could drink the sea dry even though I'd drunk pints and pints of water yesterday. This morning the pesky pound is back again so it could be the salt in the dinner last night.

Anyway, onwards and upwards this morning due to yesterdays appalling veg intake I had the most bizarre breakfast but it was lovely

B - 2 eggs, scrambled with butter - a large handful of cauli, broccoli and baby carrots Grin
L - chicken liver parfait, green pepper sticks with FF mayo and a boiled egg
D - will be fried plain haddock with veg and lots of lovely butter

BIWI · 07/09/2016 13:30

If you're still thirsty, then that's a sign you need more salt. How much water have you been drinking?
