Morning all!

for the last time this Bootcamp, is the Spreadsheet of Wonderfulness

I hope that this Bootcamp has been successful for you. I have to say, it's been one of the most trouble-free Grin

I'm certainly carrying on, and with a bit more focus Blush given that we now have a holiday booked in 11 weeks time, that will mean I need to be ready to don a swimsuit.

Good luck with getting back on the wagon BIWI and Wombatto.

I had a hellish day at work today and it was a long one, 9-8 and I succumbed to half a chocolate Brazil (damn those lovely borrowers that bring us chocolates Wink), a tiny bit of a custard cream that broke off when I was getting them out for the reading group and a spoonful of the ice-cream that DH was eating. What I really want to do is eat masses of cake and biscuits and icecream. ConfusedBlush

Veryflummoxed · 18/08/2016 21:38

Oh dear back again after another few days away. I definitely slipped into carbage and do not have the courage to face the scales till I've had a few days back eating properly. I have just skimmed through to catch up on the thread and noticed several icecream comments. I was going to post a picture of my icecream (not my only, just the biggest) but decided that was probably going a bit far.

Tomorrow I am back to recording every morsel which passes my lips.

Well done all you holiday losers.

breakfastbap · 18/08/2016 22:23

I'm giving this a go as ive read so much about low carb / high fat as a better way of losing weight than restricting calories. My food is below, is this ok?

B - 2 eggs with butter, a slice of ham
L - green salad with tuna in oil and Mayo
D - 3 low carb (1g/100g) sausages with green, red, yellow pepper strips, mushrooms and a small amount of onion fried in butter.
Snack - small packet of pork scratching
2 cups of tea

Is this the sort of food I should be eating? Have I got it right?

NotdeadyetBOING · 18/08/2016 23:29

Hi gang (she whispers)…

Tiptoeing back in after 10 days away from the thread and away from low-carbing.

Probably best I leave it there……

BIWI · 19/08/2016 09:17

Welcome breakfastbap (you might want to change that name now Grin)

Your menu looks fine - but you need to keep an eye on the amount of processed stuff you're eating there: ham, sausage and scratchings.

Make sure you really keep your fat levels up, and try substituting shallots for onions as they're less than half the amount of carbs.

Thanks for the welcome! Yes I will need a name change now!

Today will be as follows

B - 2 eggs with butter and ham

L - Green salad with FF mayo and pink salmon

D - Now this is where I may make a boo boo. DH is making Spag Bol so I said I'd only have the bolognese. It will be mince / onions / mushrooms in a sauce made from jar & passata. Possibly a bit carby from the tomatoes? I was going to add cheese on top.

I shall have to see if this will be ok - this is our usual Friday night dinner and I dont want to have to start making every meal different.

cjt110 · 19/08/2016 10:11

So I am doing keto. Today is day 2. My issue is breakfast.

I dont eat eggs, mushrooms, fish - leaving me with a pretty limited variety for breakfast. Can people advice of their ideas for breakfast? Thanks :)

boldlygoingsomewhere · 19/08/2016 12:55

I usually have some Greek yoghurt for breakfast - fills me right up and is delicious!

Notdead, we've got an annual, large family get-together this weekend. It always involves baking a childhood favourite. I'm not going to worry about- one day of indulgence is fine in the grand scheme of things. I'm just going to get right back to it by doing a fast day on Monday and will try and limit the damage by 16:8 while away and only indulging in the cake alongside the main meals rather than snacking throughout the day. I think this way of eating is flexible enough that we can have a bit of a holiday now and then. Smile

Interestingly, I still haven't eaten any bread or pasta since starting bootcamp. I just don't want to eat them at all! The odd bit of cake or biscuit has passed my lips and I've noticed that shop-bought cake tastes really funny to me now and makes my mouth tingle. Home-made stuff is fine. Must be something in the added ingredients...

breakfastbap · 19/08/2016 16:53

I take it it's normal to have a low level headache for the first few days? I feel tired and edgy. How long will it last?

SestraClone · 19/08/2016 17:58

Made this tonight, totally delicious! Velvet pork chops, had mine with buttered leeks. [[http://www.southernplate.com/2016/04/velvet-pork-chops.html]

SestraClone · 19/08/2016 17:58

Argh Link fail!

velvet pork chops

SestraClone · 19/08/2016 18:16

I am also exactly 3 stone down since mid-Jan, most by doing LC. It's been slow and I still have a lot to go (nobody has even noticed even though I have dropped a dress size). I have had numerous "days/weeks off" in that time, but overall its been a downward trend.

BIWI · 19/08/2016 21:23

breakfastbap - yes it's entirely normal - also known as carbflu.

Eat plenty of fat and drink plenty of water. You'll also benefit if you up your salt, as you need lots of sodium. Also magnesium and potassium - good sources are salmon, avocado, spinach and natural full fat yoghurt.

Try drinking a hot drink made from Oxo/Bovril/Marmite and make sure that you cook with salt and add salt to your food.

You should be through it in a couple of days.

Hello everyone.
Welcome breakfast
Still here holding myself accountable Grin

breakfastbap · 20/08/2016 00:08

Thank you, I've had a night out tonight, just got home. I have stuck to diet coke and vodka. Not great but better than wine or beer I guess. Let's see what the scales say in a few days time.
The low grade headache is still around and I'm feeling pretty hungry now. Large glass of water and off to bed before I eat something!

breakfastbap · 20/08/2016 08:13

Ooh that link to the velvet pork chops looks lovely. I guess you could do that with most cuts of meat and add chilli or other spices to taste too. what a great Idea to replace gravy. Thanks

Veryflummoxed · 20/08/2016 08:19

SestraClone three stone is fantastic. Well done Flowers

lasttimeround · 20/08/2016 09:46

Well done several. 3 stone is my overall goal. I'm v excited today I dipped below 70kgs - 69.8!!! I'm just a little shy of a healthy bmi

DoingItForMyselfAtLast · 20/08/2016 10:47

Hi all you losers!

I haven't posted in ages, but am lurking and catching up with everything a few days a week. Well done Sestra on your fantastic loss and everyone else staying on the wagon.

I am delighted to report that after a stalled couple of weeks after bootcamp ended, I have reached the next half stone and am now exactly 2.5stone/35lbs down in total and almost into the next stone bracket, which I haven't been since my 11 year old was a baby 😁

Thanks as usual to you all for the company, encouragement and support. Flowers

breakfastbap · 20/08/2016 13:39

Wow you are all doing so well on this way of eating, I hope the scales are kind to me too. I've been doing this since last Wednesday and today I had a sneaky jump on the scales and have lost 2lb already. I'm craving sugar badly at the moment though and a feeling a bit headachey and tired. I know it should pass soon.

Today's menu
B - 2 eggs, butter and a slice of torchon ham
L - 4 peppered mackerel fillets, FF Mayo and cucumber sticks.
D - expect it to be chicken based

NigellasGuest · 20/08/2016 15:16

Hello I'm back. Aiming to lose 4-5 lbs.

Starting by upping the water intake again. It's funny how once that slips, everything else seems to a little.

SestraClone · 20/08/2016 18:59

Fantastic Doing, well done!

SestraClone · 20/08/2016 19:00

Great starts BreakfastBap :)

lasttimeround · 20/08/2016 20:30

Today
B- bacon
L- chorizo omelette
D- chicken in coconut spinach
S - celery dark chocolate

Seem to be back in the groove. Hoping to score the duck in lidl tomorrow if not it's velvet pork chops. Plus I hot chicken liver and pork belly from the lovely Chinese butchers so will roast pork snd make pate. Next few days will be lush Smile

lasttimeround · 20/08/2016 20:31
