Suddenly remembered about coddled eggs. Anyone else ever have them when small? Must check recipe. Seem to remember you put an egg in a ramekin with butter and cream and bake. Sounds bang on for us, no?!

NotdeadyetBOING · 01/07/2016 07:59

For instance…

If you're hungry between meals, it's a signal that you're not eating enough/not eating enough fat (or protein) at meals - and possibly also that you're thirsty!

But if you're losing consistently and steadily then all is definitely moving in the right direction Smile

My weight has been steady for 2 weeks which is rather dull. But guess I am just plateauing so trying to be relaxed about whole thing.

Is it wrong that I am already fantasising about my yummy lunch???? I think often the desire to snack between meals isn't hunger, but boredom (especially if you work at home). At least it is for me….

DoingItForMyselfAtLast · 01/07/2016 08:48

Ah, see, I'm religious about my water now, drinking 4.5 litres a day as recommended for my weight, so I doubt it's thirst. I thought I was getting enough fat, but will up it for a few days and see if there is a difference. But like I said, I'm happy with my progress so far, and so many people have complemented me, so it's urging me onwards - one of my goals is to not be stretching the lap belt as far as it will go when I step on a plane to New York in October. That'll be a good day 😊

margaritasbythesea · 01/07/2016 11:16

Hello all,

I seem to have stalled a bit. I accept this is probably due to having a drink one or two nights a week lately but I was wondering if someone could check what I plan to eat for the next few days and see if they think it is ok. I plan not to have any drinks this week.

I think I may have been eating too much cheese and processed meats so am aiming to cut as much of that out as I can.

I drink about 3 litres of water a day.

today
breakfast - two eggs scrambled in butter
lunch - tuna mayonnaise salad
dinner - roast chicken with kale and swede. gravy made just with meat juices

tomorrow - two eggs scrambled in butter
lunch - Roast belly pork with cavolo nero
dinner - courgetti carbonara

Sunday
breakfast - two eggs scrambled in butter
lunch - thai green curry made with chicken, shallot courgette and broccoli
dinner - not entirely sure to be honest but something involving an aubergine and some goats cheese.

margaritasbythesea · 01/07/2016 11:17

Thank you!

Whistle73 · 01/07/2016 11:17

Bit poorly today coming down with a cold, so couldn't finish my breakfast and at the hairdressers at lunchtime so could well just have one meal today. Will see if it works with a whoosh!

lasttimeround · 01/07/2016 12:26

I've weighed in today and put it on the spreadsheet as we're going on holiday so I won't be able to get weighed again until 18th July.

Owing to being ill and therefore struggling to eat earlier in the week I've lost 3lbs since Monday which makes 10lbs overall Smile

flyright · 01/07/2016 14:15

Well done you! - every cloud and all that - - have a lovely holiday and come back with some tips as to how to not sabotage all previous good work please!

anniebambammie · 01/07/2016 14:39

Also still here Smile reading every day but don't post often.
I am indebted forever to the person who introduced me to exploded babybels- amazing.
According to today's weigh in I've lost 4.2kgs so far on bootcamp.. 2kg more to go and baby weight GONE!

PlayNice · 01/07/2016 14:48

I need to try those baby bels! Has anyone tried them with the flavoured ones, out of interest?

Food today:
Breakfast - leftover chicken with cauliflower tabboleh. Turkish yogurt.
Lunch - steak salad with cauliflower tabboleh and hearts of palm, which I've wanted to find again since I went to Brazil but are officially not nice when from a tin :(.
Dinner - out at a friend's for fajitas, but I might have mine without the tortilla. Probably wine.

I've been at training for the last three days and have successfully avoided all biscuits bread and pastries on offer.

I'm knackered but quite proud of myself.Grin

wombattoo · 01/07/2016 20:37

last Babybels taken out of their skins and heated in the microwave for about 70 secs. (in a cup or small bowl) They are delicious

margaritasbythesea · 01/07/2016 21:01

Thanks wombattoo.

I am suddenly really hungry over the last couple of days. I don't know why because I am not doing anything naughty.

bettyblueeyes83 · 01/07/2016 21:31

Lots of exercise today (body pump, Pilates, and yoga!).

B: hard-boiled egg and half an avocado, creamy coffee
L: ham and cheese omelette, Greek salad, cabbage salad
D: sausage and celeriac salad
S: protein shake (berries, almond milk, vanilla protein), Coyo, some cheese

regularbutpanickingabit · 01/07/2016 22:48

So I had a very big night off last night thanks to an empty fridge, a helpful husband who forgot what I was doing (this is the first time he has forgotten!) and a decision that the occasional conscious night off was probably the easiest way to continue this WOE rather than feeling like I had failed and therefore needn't bother any more.

I had a lovely bowl of seafood pasta followed by an espresso magnum. I also had a G&T. Interestingly, I had a smaller bowl of pasta than I ever used to, didn't want seconds despite it being delicious, really savoured the flavour because it was a treat. I didn't have any more G&T or move on to wine, both of which were automatic habits before.

I have drunk lots of water today and eaten very strictly and although I know yesterday will show on the scales, I feel quite serene about it because I am happily tucking in to LC today and not hankering after sugar and pasta and alcohol. My next planned night off will be in 2 weeks when we have a big family birthday.

B Creamy scrambled eggs in butter
L Salmon fillet with salad and mayo. Buffalo mozzarella with lots of olive oil.
D Stir fried beef with dark green stir fry veg on cauli cous cous and cream. Not a success. In fact, quite horrible!

Veryflummoxed · 01/07/2016 23:26

Lunch HB eggs green leaves and mayo
Dinner Konjac noodle carbonara, mushrooms, cauliflower hash browns. Sprinkle of Parmesan and parsley. Margaritas your food plan sounded delicious.

Tea but not enough water.

lasttimeround · 02/07/2016 07:01

wombat thanks I will have to try this.

BIWI · 02/07/2016 08:01

margaritas they sound lovely! What time shall I come round?

OP posts:
Mookbark · 02/07/2016 08:25

Morning all, just catching up.
fliss love the jeans
mary that's one way of losing weight! Glad you are going to be well enough for your holiday, hope you have a fab time.
Wombat yay! Well done.
Notdead those coddled eggs look good
reader well done for resisting the biscuits, pastries, etc. Laid on food is often dreadful for the lc eater, isn't it?
Regular well done on getting right back to it after a night off, your PoV sounds very sensible.

I haven't posted for a few days, I've still been at it, just not got round to posting. I have read Jason Fung's the obesity code. It was very interesting and quite compelling. For those of you who haven't. heard about him, he doesn't advocate lchf per se, but argues that insulin causes obesity and insulin spikes and therefore insulin resistance occurs because of two things. The first is high spikes of insulin. This is where lchf comes in, as if you follow it, you will have lower spikes. The second is the persistence of insulin due to snacking, so he advocates no snacking and fasting to get the insulin levels right down for a time.

So, I thought I'd give IF a go yesterday. I missed the cream in my morning coffee, but I survived. Other than that, it really was ok. I was pretty hungry at about 11.30, then it wore off and I felt fine, not mega hungry. I even went and did a weight session after work. Then had dinner at 7pm (chicken in garlic basil and tomato sauce with courgette, was another lovely meal from the Paleoleap website) wasn't 24 hours, about 22 hours. I've tried IF prior to this woe and I couldn't do it, because I wanted to eat my own arm by the end of the day and because I felt dizzy, shaky, etc. Neither of these things happened this time.
So, sorry tl:dr, but the gist is, I'm going to try IF 2-3 times a week.

Hope everyone has a good weekend Flowers
