Morning all! I'm excited to see what the scales are telling everyone this week - it sounds like we've had some great results so far!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Here's to another successful week

Wohmum - avocado nice sliced in a leafy spinach salad tossed with fried pancetta or bits of smoked bacon with a teaspoon of toasted pine nuts and maybe a slice of chopped up red onion of sliced spring onion
Doingit - that spiraliser looks good. Cheap too!
Wanted to eat all day today. Resisted but ate too much Philly in ham/celery (must hv unleashed a cheese craving last night - don't usually have it)
Know I'm not drinking enough water. Got to force myself tomorrow
Dinner tonight just cooking - chicken thigh curry with cauli rice and aspoonful of ff total stirred in
I'm going to hv to try BPC aren't I?

FinallyHere · 25/05/2016 18:14

I'm so enjoying catching up with everyone's results. I've been following the bootcamp guidelines since this bootcamp started and have already been asking myself why i ever fell off the wagon last autumn. I have breakfast at work most weekdays: they are used to serving me a portion of spinach instead of the usual slice of toast with my eggs or whatever. Seems quite natural again now and i do feel better for it. No afternoon slump, either.

2inches off my waist since this bootcamp started, hurrah and thank you all.

LaserShark · 25/05/2016 18:20

B: Greek yoghurt with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
L: halloumi fried in coconut oil, avocado and salad.
D: IPD moussaka with salad leaves

I ate half a slice of ham while cooking and had a couple of creamy coffees along with 3l of water.

I feel a bit queasy now.

DoingItForMyselfAtLast · 25/05/2016 18:28

It's fantastic Wintersea, super easy to use, just like paring a pencil, and the it's the size of a mug, so takes up no space.

Gcalgske · 25/05/2016 18:31

The lidl 1kg bucket of yoghurts is lower than total and super cheap Aldo an excuse to stock up on pork belly while I'm there

stilllovingmysleep · 25/05/2016 18:58

Hi all

Have been following the thread on my phone but finally found a quiet moment to log on properly on computer to catch up.

Have been doing really well... although period coming (almost there) & feeling super irritable etc. Also had migraine today but tried drinking as much water as I could. I find keeping up the water quite hard. I will try some of the tips others have suggested above i.e. tiny bit of grapefruit or lemon in water etc.

But to the most important thing! Finally got round to buying (waitrose ready prepared courgetti which I loved!! A revelation :) I also bought the konjac noodles which I was totally sceptical about but they were great too. So these 2 things add a whole new layer to my LC journey. Grin

Today
Breakfast was black coffee & just some mozarella on the go (not much). Then when I got to work 2 boiled eggs with olive oil / salt
Lunch: courgetti which I microwaved at work & had with extra virgin olive oil, lemon & feta cheese. Was delicious!
Dinner: roast salmon, konjac noodles, sauteed mushrooms & broccoli all with some added butter, lemon, salt.

Generally I can't believe I'm now essentially LC-ing 3 months successfully (although of course the first month was Whole30 which is not that LC but got rid of sugar cravings). On the minus side, I still am losing super slowly, in these 3 months have lost overall 3-4 kilos (between 6-9 pounds) which is not much at all for that long. However, this has accelerated somewhat since starting BC. The main thing as I see it is that I eat super healthily and don't feel hungry.

stilllovingmysleep · 25/05/2016 19:00

FinallyHere: yes the fact that I'm not sleepy in the afternoons was the biggest / most important change I saw when I first went off sugar in march & it has continued. It's very important particularly in a job like mine where I work constantly with people and have to be concentrated / alert. I remember having carb-heavy lunches & biscuits (oh those office biscuits!) & then almost fall asleep in 2 pm or 3 pm appointments which really used to distress me.

Wintersea · 25/05/2016 19:00

I daren't buy a massive jar of yoghurt. my brain doesnt tell me to stop eating sometimes. There was an article I read online this morning about how we're programmed from paleo times to consume in times of feast to cope with times of famine and we've not yet evolved enough to switch off our brains in these days of continual feast (at least in the developed world) So there you are, I'm Stone Age...

Wintersea · 25/05/2016 19:02

(That was in response to gcal!)

MaryThorne · 25/05/2016 19:34

Hello, can I join in - rather late to the party I know. I'm catching up on the threads but not there yet. I've tried to add myself to the spreadsheet - not sure if it's worked (185.3lb). I have done LCHF in the past years ago and it's worked for me but ultimately been derailed because I haven't found a way to fit meals so that DH is also happy (he is entirely unconvinced by LCHF and insists on carbs on the side). Hopefully this time will be more successful!
Hello everyone! Smile

wombattoo · 25/05/2016 19:45

Welcome Mary. I've repeated your weight under the most recent date (23/05/)
My dh also eats carbs sometimes, he just gets additional things to add to what we are eating

Flisspaps · 25/05/2016 19:51

DH gets carbs on the side here too - tonight's tea is salmon (with a blob of butter in the foil parcel), asparagus and samphire - DH will have boiled spuds with his

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 25/05/2016 19:54

dataandspot I got the oxo good grips julienne peeler from Amazon and it was about £7. I know j could have spent a bit less but I wanted quality I could rely on. About a year ago I bought one of the cheap Chinese spiralisers that looks like a green plastic tube and it was absolutely worthless. I tried to make carrot ribbons for a salad but I couldn't get anything.

KP86 · 25/05/2016 19:59

Today was a big eating day. I was a bit hungry (bored, more likely) and had lots of little bits and pieces.

B: one egg on half protein roll with around 20ml coconut oil, creamy coffee
L: 1.75 babybels (one for me plus DS leftovers), which I cooked in two ways - one was in the microwave for 15s and one I cut in half and put on the sandwich press (with greaseproof paper) to try to make cheese crisps but it didn't work out that well. Still tasty! I also had Thai soup and slim noodles and a teaspoon coconut oil.
AT: another spoon coconut oil. I've now put it back in the cupboard! It's a weirdly tasty thing to have a quick spoon of.
D: really, really yummy creamy pesto pasta with chicken, mushrooms, zucchini, spinach and broccoli and slim pasta in a cream and pesto sauce.
Snack: SF jelly and cream

Water: 1.3L Blush

I need to find half an hour for myself and read this whole thread to see what you're all eating this week.

lexloofah · 25/05/2016 20:15

cider Flowers

tried something new for dinner: pork tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto (nothing new I know, keep reading) but roasted on a bed of rhubarb and leeks (this is the new bit) and yes I am classing rhubarb as a veg rather than fruit as almost certain that it is and v low carb anyway. it was lovely and so easy to shove in the oven and get on with other things.
inspired by [[http://swisspaleo.ch/prosciutto-wrapped-pork-filet-and-savory-rhubarb/ this recipe]]

yongnian · 25/05/2016 20:50

Running in as just back from a log day travelling for work. Not too disastrous considering except the promised catering didn't materialise and literally the only option was a sandwich. Everything else fine though including water.
B:Greek yog, clotted
S: cocktail sausages, bacon strips
L: aforementioned
S: cocktail sausages + baby bel
D: - none yet!
W: 2.5 litres

Gcalgske · 25/05/2016 21:06

Lex rhubarb is technically a veg and is v v v low. If you can eat it unsweetened it's perfect.

I like avocado fried in butter - seriously yum - or in a Marie Rose sauce (Mayo, touch chilli, tbsp passata, lemon juice) with prawns in lettuce cups.

I've seen recipes where they take the stone out and bake an egg in the cavity. Would assume that's going to be lush if one uses enough butter.

stilllovingmysleep · 25/05/2016 21:13

I wish I could eat avocado as it's supposed to be so healthy but unfortunately I can't stand it...too 'clayey' for me if that makes sense.

Gcalgske · 25/05/2016 21:16

dataandspot I have a stainless steel spiraliser I got from Amazon for £20 but it's a faff and TBH I mostly use the julienne grater these days. I got one which attaches to a tub (has a mandolin and cheese grater attachment too) and I use it most days. It's a Kuhn rikon one and was pretty cheap (I've had their mandolins for years and they are great quality too) although I've seen Amazon advertising this one on offer and I'm tempted www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00PR54V30/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?qid=1464207129&sr=8-8&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=mandolin+slicer&dpPl=1&dpID=41dxwh4YxfL&ref=plSrch

Gcalgske · 25/05/2016 21:17

I like it in a green smoothie still just makes it creamy

Veryflummoxed · 25/05/2016 21:29

Hi all.

B scrambled eggs with cream, butter and cheese, thanks to someone back along for the cheese suggestion.

Coffee and cream.

L haloumi (no idea how to spell it) fried in butter, avacado fried in butter, again thanks for that suggestion and olives on a bed of dressed rocket. It was delicious.

BPC my first. I can't believe I drank and enjoyed it.

D fried egg with Stilton, smoked sausage bacon and mushroom.

Not enough water, about two and a half litres. Should be three and a half. It was to cold today, I wanted hot drinks.

Just realised I had cheese at every meal. Not good that. Also I now feel very queasy. Too much fat I think.

Veryflummoxed · 25/05/2016 21:32

Oh and I too ordered a julienne peeler from Amazon at the beginning of the week and today I ordered the Konjac noodles.

bettyblueeyes83 · 25/05/2016 21:33

Tough day for the first time - I don't know if it was the cold weather or I've just hit a wall. The great, not hungry-not craving-clearly losing weight feeling from last week seems to have gone. I've been missing carbs for the first time and just hungry between meals. I drooled over the fruit aisle in M&S (while buying yummy snacks recommended here, thanks!). And I'm devoid of energy generally. Maybe delayed low carb flu? Anyway, I had:

B: coffee with cream, scrambled eggs in butter with a bit of cheese, bacon, four cherry toms.
L: pesto salmon fillet, fried halloumi, lettuce, three cherry toms, mayo.
D: casserole made with cream, cheese, pesto, cauliflower, leek and more cherry toms!
S: bit of avocado, M&S Serrano and Manchego rolitos, olives.

Too much ham and cheese and too many cherry tomatoes, I know. And too many calories, if we were counting!

bettyblueeyes83 · 25/05/2016 21:35

Sorry chicken casserole, not just veg in cream

stilllovingmysleep · 25/05/2016 21:58

Bettyblue so sorry to hear you had a bad day. It's only to be expected! I'm continuously amazed by the good experiences with LC on the Bootcamp threads (including mine). It honestly doesn't feel depriving as a woe. However, there are bound to be bad days, we just have to expect them.

I too had a pretty exhausting day, with headache, achey legs etc. Just hang in there. It'll pass. Like you, for some reason what I miss most is berries (& morning porridge), rather than pasta, desserts etc.
