Morning all! I'm excited to see what the scales are telling everyone this week - it sounds like we've had some great results so far!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Here's to another successful week

Um, did everyone else know that coconut oil is a laxative? I just found out the...uh...startling way.

CathemeralChild · 25/05/2016 13:36

😂😂

boldlygoingsomewhere · 25/05/2016 13:43

Just about to tuck into a lunch of chicken, avocado and haloumi salad with a side of radishes. Going to dip them in butter as others have done.

Can't believe what delicious food I'm eating and how good I feel. The realisation that I don't need pasta, rice or bread has been quite amazing. I'm not really missing them.

BIWI · 25/05/2016 13:50

Just enjoyed a 'no pizza pizza' for lunch. We only have a microwave at work, so I've got used to inventing things:

Large tomato sliced and laid out on a plate
3 slices parma ham torn into thinner slices and laid over the top
couple of teaspoons of pesto smeared over the top
one ball full fat mozzarella sliced and laid on top of that
some Jalapeño chilli slices dotted on the top (optional, but I like chilli!)
sprinkle of dried oregano and lots of black pepper
good drizzle of olive oil

cook on high for about 2 minutes

Oh, and have a spoon to finish all the lovely juices at the end!

That sounds yum BIWI, I was wondering what to do with the half of my mozzarella ball in the fridge, that's tomorrow's lunch sorted. I've used almost half on a chicken and chorizo salad today and was a bit stumped for ideas.

dataandspot · 25/05/2016 14:39

Socially where did you buy your julienne peeler from? Was it expensive?

Also what brands of focus it milk and mayo do people recommend?

dataandspot · 25/05/2016 14:39

Coconut!

WanHeda · 25/05/2016 14:59

My julienne peeler was 79p from B&M!

wohmum · 25/05/2016 15:30

Ideas please for avocado... I love guacomole and salsa, but how else is a good way to eat it? Not keen just on its own , it needs something with it - but what?

I had a huge bowl of creamy mushroom soup for lunch - needing something hot today as so cold and grey, plus have a rotten sore throat so feeling a bit sorry for myself.

poorbuthappy · 25/05/2016 15:32

BIWI what pesto do you use?

BIWI · 25/05/2016 15:43

I think it's a Sainsbury one, poor - most probably, actually, as that's the nearest shop to the office. It will have been the lowest carb one available (because I always check the label!)

Mmmm, meetings and generally rushing around meant I fetched up midafternoon away from the office and lunchless, which led to this discovery: Giraffe cheese and bacon burger with extra burger and the bun swapped for salad. They were very accommodating and also gave me coffee with cream and a big cup of water.

Okay, I may have gone overboard and bought 30 packets of 400g konjac noodles, but omg I love them!

I've just cooked a whole packet with a dash on Sacla pasta sauce (4.8g carbs per 100g), but from tomatoes and red pepper so I'm okay with that, then topped with cheese. It's like eating proper pasta! I am living on these from now on Grin

Veryflummoxed · 25/05/2016 16:44

Ten days ago the thought of BPC made me want to heave. Then as more and more people talked about it I started to become curious enough to order a frother on Amazon though not curious enough to use it. This afternoon feeling very cold and very hungry (despite a good breakfast and lunch) I felt I had nothing to loose. I am now sipping a BPC. It has cheered me up no end.

DoingItForMyselfAtLast · 25/05/2016 16:48

I can totally recommend this spiralizer, got it in Asda at the weekend. It does both ribbons and spaghetti strands.

Gcalgske · 25/05/2016 16:53

Bullet proof chai is just the same as the coffee.

Lowest pesto I've found is lidl baresa

Gcalgske · 25/05/2016 16:56

Watch the konjac noodles. They are very very high in fibre and can with clear you out or block you up in a very painful fashion. Portion size is key.

Titsalinabumsquash · 25/05/2016 17:23

I made a mousaka/lasagne hybrid. It was ok actually, The kids all ate it.
I totally forgot to eat lunch today, I never forget to eat because I'm usually hungry in between meals but apparently not anymore....

lisbapalea · 25/05/2016 17:38

Didn't get round to checking in yesterday so trying to speed read and catch up on what I have missed!

Glad all went well cider - really impressive to be staying on the straight and narrow when it sounds like you've been through the mill a bit.

I had a really weird 'turn' yesterday - went incredibly light headed and it wasn't just a one off - had a few waves of it over the afternoon. I did succumb to a digestive biscuit and did feel a bit more stable afterwards, so I am not sure what that was all about? I am regarding that as medicinal though as I didn't actually 'want' it (am I kidding myself?). Thankfully no further episodes but I am going to be a bit cautious as I think I am getting more prone to fainting etc, weirdly. Not sure what that is a sign of? Anyway, food for yesterday and today listed below:

Tue
B - two eggs scrambled with butter and cream, with smoked salmon and spinach
L - salmon, avocado and boiled egg salad, lots of leaves and oily dressing
D - A swede mash 'patty' (leftovers from sunday lunch formed into a burger shape and then fried slowly in oil until sort of crispy on the edges), cold chicken and leftover broccoli and leeks from sunday lunch

Wed
B - Two fried eggs, smoked salmon, spinach
L - chicken in a harissa mayo with hm coleslaw and spinach with lots of olive oil
D - courgetti bolognese with mozzarella and parmesan

Probably not enough water over the last two days (although not enough to be dehydrated - more like 1.5litres rather than 3). I am much more disciplined when I am in the office with my trusty 750ml bottle at my desk which I refill about a squillion times during the day.

SingToMeInFrench · 25/05/2016 17:39

I felt so bad about the weekend that I haven't logged on until today. I'm back on it though and still had a 2lbs loss.
B:bacon and black coffee and egg
L:chicken drunk sticks, pork slices and cauliflower cheese.
D: leftover butter chicken and cauli rice

StrawberryLeaf · 25/05/2016 17:47

I have discovered that Costco's Greek yoghurt (the 1kg tub) is 3.5g carbs per 100g, I think that's about the same or even slightly lower than total. It's cheaper at about £2.80 for the tub if you have Costco near you.

Today has been:

B - slices of cheese, ham and cucumber
L - egg, tuna, Parmesan, lettuce salad
D - pork curry with courgetti and broccoli in butter, some Greek yoghurt

Haven't snacked but will likely have some halloumi in front of the tv if I feel like it.

wombattoo · 25/05/2016 17:50

Hello everyone.
Cider So glad it went well today and hope you got something sorted for DS.
regular I would put the scales in one place and use that exact place every week for weigh in.
Humphrey A lot of gammon contains sugar. Could this have caused your thirst? Though gammon makes me thirsty as it's usually salty
Bursar That is great news. Well done you Thanks
TooMuch I've updated the spreadsheet.

B: Salmon, egg and mayo
L: 2 chicken thighs with skin on
D: hm beefburgers, fried egg

I'm struggling to eat enough veg as I don't fancy it, but I am making a broccoli soup to increase my quota.

ClopySow · 25/05/2016 17:54

B bacon and scrambled egg with butter
L lots of leafy stuff, celery, hard boiled eggs, salami, mayo
D lamb chops and spring greens

Just had 2 babybel cos i was starving

I feel great today after getting back on track after being away. Inch loss aside, i feel so much better without carbs. I never have a massive slump in the afternoon anymore.
