Welcome everyone!

We have around 130 people signed up this time, so it's going to be a busy and fast-moving thread.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your weight.

The lovely Sayrra manages the spreadsheet. Please don't mess with it! Just enter your weight and leave all the other columns/rows alone!

I'll start a questions thread to run along side this chat thread, so that you can post stuff there in the knowledge that your question will definitely be seen. (I can't promise to get to your questions immediately, but I will read and answer them)

And please, please, please - no matter how fast-moving the thread is, please read the whole thing and don't just post your own thing. You'll miss a lot of valuable stuff that way, and it also presumes that I (and other posters) are happy to keep repeating stuff.

But above all, very good luck everyone!

I'm in! Have a mobility problem which has meant I have piled on the pounds. Can hardly do any exercise at all, even walking is painful, so I guess it's no wonder I have ballooned.
I am hoping low carb will help in time for my summer holiday.
Good luck everyone.

Disaster averted - I've eaten the pizza topping but no crust, and there was coleslaw at 5g/100g carbs, which wasn't ideal but better than just a scraping of cheese and pepperoni! I still feel stuffed Grin

Back to feeling a little bleurgh and listless today. I guess my foods and drinks while away were enough to mess with the progress. Not had a lot of appetite for real food, but could have devoured anything startchy. I'm drinking some extra water and just hoping I'm back to feeling energetic and well in a day or two.

Food today:

B: two fried eggs and half an avocado, and coffee with cream.
L: fried halloumi, gherkins and olives.
D: chicken thighs cooked with a bit of pesto (I hope this was okay), butter and shallots, and buttery broccoli on the side.

BIWI · 21/05/2016 18:29

A bit of pesto is fine - don't worry! Hope you're feeling better soon.

Flisspaps - did you tell your SIL that you're low carbing? I think it's the only way, to make sure that you do get something that you can eat!

Had a bit of a slip up today. Breakfast and dinner were fine but lunch was a 'least worse option' scenario. Went to meet a friend for lunch and stopped somewhere that looked healthy but all the salads had grains in! Best option was veg and lentil soup which wasn't great but better than the alternatives. Never mind, tomorrow is another day...

Well done Fliss for resisting pizza temptation.
Have eaten chicken and chipotle coleslaw today for brunch.
Handful of cherry tomatoes for snack
Steak, mushrooms and shallots for dinner....and red wine....I just can't give everything up. Blush But if my autoimmune condition doesn't start improving I will be kicking the wine to the kerb too! I'm giving it another 2 weeks.

That looks lovely Strawberry!

I'm going to try that.

I'm not feeling at all deprived, I do miss carbs but it's more comfort tan hunger. Loving the food I'm eating!

Stately you really, really do know, don't you, that wine isn't allowed on Bootcamp?! It's only two weeks that you have to go without.

Pengweng I've made 6 cakes today for a charity event tomorrow and not eaten any! I'm so used to this woe now that I don't fancy it either... Though do wish I could check how they taste as it makes me nervous!

Yeah I do know Biwi - this is my 6th week low carbing, so I'm well past the initial phase...I shouldn't have mentioned it - Sorry!

Not sure how I've done today.

B: 3 pork belly strips
L: chunk of cheese on the go
D: 3 pork belly strips with lettuce, spinach, butter, guacamole, sour cream.

So thats a whole 500g pack of pork belly. That's a fuck load of calories Sad

Belly pork celeriac dauphinois courgette and mushroom.

Thought today would be tricky as I was at the rugby 7s at Twickenham all day with my DC. But we took snacks and they had loads of fancy food vans in a separate food village area, so had goat curry and salad which was yum. Only tricky thing was drinking enough, as the queues for the loos were horrendous. But back home and drinking water, ready to do it again tomorrow - maybe take a few more snacks as the children snaffled quite a bit of my green pepper and goats cheese cubes.

monkeyfacegrace - I think you have to let go of the calories for a while. You've definitely got your fat levels up though Grin

They are konjac based, yes. Glad to hear I'm not breaking rules!!

And in that case, letting everyone know that Ocado (and most likely Waitrose, they usually mirror special offers) have them buy 1 get 1 free. Works out to 2 for £2.48. I literally have 20+ packets in my cupboard as we use them as pasta substitute twice a week.

monkeyfacegrace · 21/05/2016 19:25

My problem is that I LOVE cheese and hate fruit and veg. There really isn't much veg I'll eat.

I've just ordered 30 packs of 400g konjac noodles. I intend on frying them in butter and having with chorizo and broccoli.

Had chicken thigh/ legs for dinner with salad and hm vinaigrette. When I went into the farm shop to buy them they didn't have any thighs on display. So, I asked if they had any and the man said he could do me some. I asked for 10 (two each) and he proceeded to chop the hind quarters off five chickens. Grin They were massive, but didn't think I could stop him after he went to so much trouble for me, so I've put half in the freezer. Anyway, they were lovely. Just butter, salt and pepper rubbed in the skin.
I think the most surprising thing about this woe is how satiated you feel. Having avoided fat for 20+ years, I now know why I've spent most of that time either hungry or feeling guilty.
Have an exciting Saturday night everyone. Mine is going to be crochet, then a bath and an early night. rock'n'roll Grin

Evening , working today so still have some water to get through when I get home .
Period arrived a bit early but I'm amazed my weight wasn't up more prior to it . I used to get really bad PMT so knew all about when it was coming but citalopram antidepressant has got rid of that thankfully!

Food wise

Two babybells
I creamy coffee
Coconut chicken from marks ... So nice ! With salad
I finally found the coyo yougurts and demolished a whole big one 😬
I now feel a bit sick .

Lots of lovely food bought for this week however I'm on annual leave from work and have 5 nights out . Food wise should be fine but everyone is going to think I'm pregnant !

Hi all!

Feel very "well" today - wondering if the BC effect is kicking in after less than a week?

Went to a pub with friends for lunch and was really anxious about options but it was fab - had a chicken, avocado and bacon salad which came with kale, spinach and spiralised courgette and I think celeriac which was amazing! Had it with vinaigrette and an extra dollop of mayo!

Tonight am having a halloumi salad with avocado, hm coleslaw and a yogurt / oil dressing with za'atar which I have just discovered! Pic of the salad waiting for the halloumi (Dh is currently bbqing it) here:

Also just had some pork scratchings while I wait.

Need to guzzle some more water before the day is out.

Think I might give cloud bread and those breakfast muffins a go this week!

Well Dh and Dd ordered Chinese takeaway while I was in the bath... Just ate ribs and duck wrapped in iceberg lettuce (which I had in the fridge) - ribs were salt not bbq sauce but I'm sure there was a bit of flour involved... Oh well. Hopefully not too much damage done. So tired today though. Felt like I've been wading through treacle...
Hadn't heard of coyo yoghurt btw - looks amazing. Will def be buying some of that.

B- Greek yoghurt with a small teaspoon of cocoa nibs and coffee with butter
L- burrito salad, ie lettuce with the burrito veg and cheese and sour cream. They charged me for having cheese AND sour cream and for mushrooms but no discount for refusing beans. Robbing bastards!
EM-chicken in a creamy white wine and mushroom sauce and celeriac mash, plus a few cucumber pieces.
I had water to drink and an espresso while out. Not a bad day.

Now I'm off to look up cloud bread.

Mookbark · 21/05/2016 20:29

I'm not that keen on cloud bread - it's a bit eggy. Surprise that, as it's made of eggs.
