Welcome everyone!

We have around 130 people signed up this time, so it's going to be a busy and fast-moving thread.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your weight.

The lovely Sayrra manages the spreadsheet. Please don't mess with it! Just enter your weight and leave all the other columns/rows alone!

I'll start a questions thread to run along side this chat thread, so that you can post stuff there in the knowledge that your question will definitely be seen. (I can't promise to get to your questions immediately, but I will read and answer them)

And please, please, please - no matter how fast-moving the thread is, please read the whole thing and don't just post your own thing. You'll miss a lot of valuable stuff that way, and it also presumes that I (and other posters) are happy to keep repeating stuff.

But above all, very good luck everyone!

Morning!

Off camping this weekend- school trip. Need to locate nearest tesco express to campsite so I can buy a LC dinner/breakfast'

reader77 · 21/05/2016 07:57

Morning LCers.

I have woken up feeling so rough. This must be carb flu. I'm achy, tired and blah.

I thought I'd avoided it. Bah.

glenthebattleostrich · 21/05/2016 08:00

Thin sliced hallomi fried in coconut oil is lovely and crisp. And I find the coconut oil gives it a slight sweetness too. It's yummy.

I'm a daily weigher and was cross to have put on 3 lb through the week but happily this has now gone and am back to starting weight so hopefully will be less on Monday morning.

Food for today

B greek yogurt tea with coconut oil with cream
L meat salad of some description
T lamb kebabs, green salad and cheeses.

I'm now finding I don't want snacks through the day and if I'm a bit hungry I have another glass of water or some herbal tea.

Have a great weekend and hopefully see less of you on Monday (that line was blatantly stolen from my old slimming world lady!)

MothershipG · 21/05/2016 08:10

Thanks for the tips, guys.

Haloumi sounds good

Celery is the work of the devil

And yogurt needs fruit!

But I am strong! Off to make a BL (don't have any tomatoes) Smile

Sorry I can't name check, using the app on my phone.

Iamdobby63 · 21/05/2016 08:14

MothershipG It's because you are used to the routine of toast in bed on a Saturday, but your weight loss without said bread is fantastic! Well done. There are no perfect substitutes that I know of but there are alternatives which are acceptable (once you have gone long enough without bread - lol)

WanHeda Make sure you take your own LC snacks, don't go empty handed. It will be a test but you can be in control, you can do this!

Iamdobby63 · 21/05/2016 08:19

reader77 Sorry you are feeling rubbish, it will pass. You know what to do.

glenthebattleostrich Glad your weight gain has gone and will hopefully be less come Monday. As you know this can be due to various factors but sometimes it just takes our bodies a little while to adjust, you are doing great.

WanHeda · 21/05/2016 08:22

iamdobby I have pepperamis, pistachios and babybels ready to go! Grin

KP86 · 21/05/2016 08:24

For those looking for more breakfast ideas, check out ruled.me and ditchthecarbs.com and have a look at their menu ideas. Google is your friend, here: there are lots of LC websites and blogs to pick through.

SayrraT · 21/05/2016 08:27

wanheda it's not Mary Poppins is it? I'm going to see it tonight Grin

WanHeda · 21/05/2016 08:36

Sayrra, it is Grin let's go fly a kite!

Iamdobby63 · 21/05/2016 08:46

wanheda & sayrra, lucky ladies! Hope you both have a wonderful evening.

CiderwithBuda · 21/05/2016 09:05

Morning all.

AIBU to think it is not fair to wake up with a stinking headache on a Saturday morning having not had any wine on Friday night??? My first ever headache on this WOE. I'm going to take it as meaning I am doing it right!

Good luck to those of you with events on this weekend. It's much easier to stick to when not out and about tempted by nice things. But just think how virtuous you will feel on Monday!

I haven't had eggs for a few days so I think breakfast will be scrambled eggs with feta and spring onion. Lunch will be smoked mackerel and salad. Dinner is a curry from Charles Clark's High Protein Cookbook. Used to make it a lot when doing this before and loved it but haven't had it for ages. If it's as good as I remember I will put the recipe on the Bootcamp Recipe thread.

Hoping to go for a walk today too. Need to exercise. Am doing nothing.

Have a good day everyone.

SociallyAcceptableCookie · 21/05/2016 09:20

Good morning everyone. Emotions ran high last night in a talk with dh (everything is fine now) but low carb means I didn't comfort eat. I crave carbs and only carbs so taking them out removes temptation. I also have so much less appetite that I don't want to eat more than my meals.

We're shopping at aldi this weekend. Are they likely to have celeriac? We haven't been in a while.

BIWI · 21/05/2016 09:25

Sounds like everyone is doing well, and (mostly) keeping to the rules!

Sympathies for you both, reader and Cider - but it's probably an indication that things are working for you. Although I agree that waking up with a headache after a night without wine simply isn't fair! Grin

For breakfast, how about making something like these?

Really easy to make - put some chopped bacon or chorizo into individual muffin cases, in a muffin tin, add any other bits of finely diced veg you like, whisk 6 eggs, season them well, and pour into the cases, top each one with some sharp/extra mature cheddar (or Parmesan), and a cherry tomato, and bake until cooked through and browned on top.

They're lovely cold or warm.

And there's another recipe for breakfast muffins (possibly more than one!) on the recipe thread

If you haven't checked out the recipe thread yet, I seriously urge you to go and have a read. Some lovely and inspiring (as well as easy) recipes there.

I got a celeriac in my veg box yesterday.... It looks like a Mandrake, and for those you who don't know what that is... It also looks like an alien. Grin
I'm going to make chips put of it in the actifry.

I went to our local Burger Kitchen and had a naked burger with extra avacado and bacon and a fried egg, they served it with a huge salad, big win thinks I, then the waitress hurries back "sorry, I forgot your chips!" I had to sit next to the greasy, salty gods of food and eat none. It was a test of wills and luckily I won.

I had some coconut yoghurt last night, that is divine but I fear I'll need a bank load to buy it regularly, why so expensive?!

Iamdobby63 · 21/05/2016 09:37

Titsalinabumsquash Lol make sure you wear ear protectors when you get it out.

CiderwithBuda · 21/05/2016 09:41

Biwi - they look yummy. Am def going to try them. I assume they freeze ok? Would be a great standby to have in freezer.

BIWI · 21/05/2016 09:51

I don't know - they didn't last that long!

OP posts:
ClopySow · 21/05/2016 09:56

Well ClopySow, how did you get on with your wine?

Oh yes, excellent thanks, i finished it off with Sambucca.

Idiot. Hanging my head in shame and pain

CathemeralChild · 21/05/2016 10:24

It's so much better in a group, isn't it?
If I was doing this on my own I would have said "sod it" and nicked a slice of pizza last night, but I didn't. I just had my salad and said I didn't fancy it.
Not that the boys complained: they got more!

SayrraT · 21/05/2016 10:28

titsalina there is a recipe for homemade coyo on the recipe thread. I'm sure it was stuntnun who posted it.

Got family for lunch today before going into Edinburgh but unfortunately my aunt doesn't eat vegetables! I've made broccoli soup for me and parents (they also LC after seeing my success) and I've got rolls with cheese for fussy auntie!

Then we are at an Italian for dinner (auntie likes carbonara) I'm planning on mussels for starter and pan fried seabass for main followed by coffee with cream for dessert.
