Welcome everyone!

We have around 130 people signed up this time, so it's going to be a busy and fast-moving thread.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your weight.

The lovely Sayrra manages the spreadsheet. Please don't mess with it! Just enter your weight and leave all the other columns/rows alone!

I'll start a questions thread to run along side this chat thread, so that you can post stuff there in the knowledge that your question will definitely be seen. (I can't promise to get to your questions immediately, but I will read and answer them)

And please, please, please - no matter how fast-moving the thread is, please read the whole thing and don't just post your own thing. You'll miss a lot of valuable stuff that way, and it also presumes that I (and other posters) are happy to keep repeating stuff.

But above all, very good luck everyone!

Should have read bready

trixymalixy · 20/05/2016 19:51

Good day today. I was at a kids party and usually I'm looking for leftovers to eat and have a slice of cake with tea. I wasn't even tempted by anything and just had water. Yesterday was difficult though as I was making meringues and a cake for a party. I didn't realise how often I just popped a bit in my mouth or licked icing off my fingers!

Today:

B boiled eggs and mayo

L large omelette with cream, chorizo and cheese. Also salad.
D burgers with cheese and salad.

Patterkiller · 20/05/2016 19:52

No wanHeda similar but even simpler. www.stillathomemom.com/quick-easy-low-carb-skillet-pizza/

I love thin crust, I'm drooling.

lisbapalea · 20/05/2016 20:15

Just had a few pork scratchings and two sticks of celery with cream cheese while I wait for dh to bbq the rib eye steaks for dinner! Having them with garlic butter mushrooms, broccoli and the last of the homemade coleslaw.

I am loving a mix of ff yog with Creme fraiche by the way - it's a really satisfying and indulgent breakfast or pudding, providing dairy isn't a bother for you.

I really did have to wrestle with myself over a glass of wine tonight but I stayed strong. I am determined to be really strict for these two weeks and the knowledge of sticking to it is in itself quite motivating.

Good luck to everyone else who is contending with Friday night drinks temptations!

MothershipG · 20/05/2016 20:17

Felt rough this morning, tired and a bit achy but felt better by the afternoon.

Did lots of cooking this afternoon, which always makes me happy, I made;
• LC meatballs - a big batch so I have plenty in the freezer
• Kale crisps is the fat that came out of the meatballs
• LC Caponata - delicious and DH commented on the great smell as he walked in
• Cauliflower mash which I had for my tea with haddock with caper and parsley butter.

wow, looks great Mothership!

readyforno2 · 20/05/2016 20:37

Wow mothership!
That all looks amazing. I've only tried to make kale crisps once and forgot about them and they were awful.
You have inspired me to try again!

BIWI · 20/05/2016 20:43

I realise that the weekend is difficult - but if you can manage to get through it without succumbing to the lure of alcohol, it's definitely worth it!

If you really do want to have a drink try to stick to white/clear spirits. Vodka and soda, with a slice of lime, will be your best possible bet - there won't be any artificial sweeteners involved. If you have to, then (white) rum and Diet Coke, or gin and Slimline tonic.

Just go easy. If you're not eating as many carbs, you'll find that the alcohol has more of an effect.

There are some good posts on the thread.
Dream Welcome on board
Annie* exploded babybels. take them out of the red casing, put them in a cup or small bowl and microwave for 1 min. Lovely. It was a tip I learned on the last bc.
Wan Your meals look fab
Strawberry How did you find the pork curry? I've tried currying pork and didn't like it
MissRainbow You had a great loss. Is alcohol worth sabotaging it?

DailyMailResearcher · 20/05/2016 21:19

I saw a photo of a glass of wine earlier on a food menu and I was almost drooling! But I've done so well this week I don't want to ruin it. Feel so much better this time doing BC, have done it before but this time there doesn't appear to be any cravings or lapses which is good.

Good luck to all over the weekend. Such a pain that it is perfect pear cider weather Sad

stilllovingmysleep · 20/05/2016 21:25

Had the most lovely dinner just earlier. Bolognese, served with mashed celeriac with buttered leeks, plus some spinach leaves. Here

Trying to catch up....some great looking food on this thread!
Thanks biwi stuntnun I think I must have misread on here something about protein inhibiting weight loss and my general boot camp lite woe is pretty meat heavy. (Fatty cuts of course) so not to worry then, cool.
Had company today but did OK
B: Turk yog, clotted cream, coconut oil, whole earth butter
S: handful of something which is allowed on bc lite (keeping it to myself so no one who's struggling will feel triggered and a few cocktail sausages
L: grilled haloumi
S: as above
D: fried kale with garlic and chorizo
W: 2 litres - still not enough

By the way, I have been on a super vitamin kick in last few months for a few different bugs that have been depleting my immune system. Have been taking super greens powder...it does taste very sweet...but there are quite a few naturally sweet berries listed on there (I know this wouldn't be good on anything other than bc lite).
I guess this is a check-its-carb-count situation really to see whether to lay off for this first little while...even though I always do bc lite as breastfeeding, I definitely need to kick into ketosis.
Musing really

Well done everyone so far

StrawberryLeaf · 20/05/2016 21:57

Wombattoo it was very tasty but not nearly as nice as the butter chicken last night, pork doesn't break down like chicken to make a lovely thick curry. Still it was good.

lexloofah · 20/05/2016 22:03

Good week in loofahville, all BC and gallons of water, got thought more than a pack of butter and a whole tray of eggs!

wan heda your tapas looks and sounds lovely, might pinch that idea as would be great for friends round or party as no one would notice lack of carbs and great for a crowd

non alcoholic drinks, I usually have sparking water to make it a bit more festive And grown up with lemon or lime, or cucumber, I like the Rosemary idea posted earlier too

We are out for early dinner tomorrow, have booked at a Steak of the Art, looks promising

Have a great weekend all

OneMoreForExtra · 20/05/2016 22:06

oof. hungry. might eat some butter.

DietChic · 20/05/2016 22:29

B: pork loin steaks; fat on
L: lamb rump with artichoke (restaurant lunch) and chopped mackerel with oyster cream for starter
D: chicken breast with the green paste and coconut milk

25g carbs, no alcohol either at lunch or this evening.

Am totally trying cauliflower mash though and also so grateful for the halloumi reminder. Love that stuff! Keep it up all!

IndianaJone · 20/05/2016 22:34

I'm getting some great ideas from this thread. Unfortunately the babies are unwell so haven't been able to get to supermarket to do a big shop hence why my meals are still a bit samey.

B - Eggs cooked with butter with half tomato.
L - tuna with mayo, salad and a chunk of cheese.
D - Salmon cooked in butter with vegetables cooked in oil. Dollop of mayo.

2.5 liters of water

ClopySow · 20/05/2016 22:36

Terrible day. 6 hour journey became 11.

B bacon and sausage

The rest of the day has been whatever snack i could find in service stations...
Boiled eggs, salami, pork scratchings, cheese, peanuts. A bit of a disaster really. Hardly any water. Now on wine.

Arse.

CiderwithBuda · 20/05/2016 22:37

Totally amazed myself by not even being tempted by wine tonight. DH had wine but I just drank my water and a herbal tea and was fine. Am determined to stick to no alcohol. It is always my downfall.

Food today was good.
B two Babybels and a couple of bits of crispy bacon
L big salad with chicken bacon avocado, cherry toms, stuffed cherry peppers and mayo and oil dressing
S slice of ham
D fried rice. DH cooked three different versions bless him! Plain one for DS, spicy for himself and cauliflower rice for me.

Lots of water and some herbal teas.

WanHeda your tapas has inspired me. I'm hosting book club in a week or so and was trying to decide what to do for food. Tapas it is! That way I can stay on track.

DailyMailResearcher · 20/05/2016 22:55

Can I just check that all herbal teas are ok? I've been drinking the Pukka detox/cleanse ones, and some lemon and ginger , they're OK?

BursarsFrogs · 20/05/2016 23:04

Back home from my escapades, and catching up with the thread. I managed to stick to mostly BC-friendly foods (best steak ever, but veggies instead of chips were pretty pathetic), but didn't manage to resist the white wine. Please no big stick though! It was a very rare occasion for us, and I will accept lower weight loss as a consequence! (And my counselor told me to do it! Honestly!)

Back home now, and back to proper food cooked by me from tomorrow morning.

MothershipG · 21/05/2016 07:25

I want toast! It's the weekend, DH brings me toast in bed at the weekend! And Greengage jam, homemade, it's the best jam, nice and sharp. And peanut butter

I'm already sick of cooked breakfasts, any suggestions for toast substitutes?

I just tried my fake coffee with cream, far too rich and creamy, especially for this time in the morning.

I won't cave, I've already lost 5lbs Smile but I'm finding breakfast hardest.

Help!

lisbapalea · 21/05/2016 07:30

Don't cave, stay strong!

How about something crunchy and clean before the cooked breakfast stuff - I really liked the celery and cream cheese I had last night?

I am resisting the urge to weigh myself as I think (hope?) it will be more satisfying to wait a full week and do it in Monday when I know I have stuck to the plan for a week.

We're meeting friends in a pub later today which might be tricky but I am determined not to waver!

WanHeda · 21/05/2016 07:50

Morning! Today will be a test, off to Edinburgh for a show and will be eating out for both lunch & dinner. The train journey will be hard, 12 of us and the rest will all be eating crisps/chocolates etc and drinking!

WanHeda · 21/05/2016 07:53

Mothership, how about yogurt for breakfast? I like it with a dash of double cream & some chia seeds. I also like fried halloumi, that has a little bit of crunch if you get it crispy. You can also butter slices of cheese and top with a slice of ham and cucumber. My personal favourite though are BLTs, a large lettuce leaf (get the crunchiest one), a thin slice of tomato, a slice or two of cripsy bacon & a dollop of mayo.
