Morning!

Here's the SoF for you to confess all

So we move into the second half.

By now, those of you who have been here from the beginning should be hitting your stride, and be more comfortable about what to do, what works/doesn't work etc.

Let's really focus and concentrate on doing it properly.

Good luck!

I ate too many nuts when I got to my hotel room last night. And 20g 90% chocolate. Blush I wasn't particularly hungry, just tired. Bit annoyed with myself, but could have been worse. I'm going to go and see what the hotel full English is like in a minute. Hoping for lots of crispy bacon and fried eggs.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 24/02/2016 08:45

SMS, sorry, but I'm just so pleased with myself - after about 4 years, I finally managed to get the Shred DVD back out of its box and do it this afternoon!! I was quite horrified at the various issues I had with it, but I did it all, and then went for a solitary swim (DS2 at preschool, so was on my own) - in other words, I did EXERCISE!! I'm not going to pretend I enjoyed it, it was bloody hard work and given that today is too hot and sweaty anyway, I was wringing wet by the end of it, but I DID IT!! And I felt quite buoyant afterwards, despite slightly aching thighs. YAY!

Foodwise, been another low appetite day:
Breakfast: 2oz cheese
Lunch: missed it
Dinner: burnt (thanks SO much, DH Hmm) lamb mince thing. Does charcoaled food contain more carbohydrate? More carbon, that's for bloody sure! Gak. Had a glass of redwine spritzer because cross. Will poss have fruit and double cream later (have some beautiful dark red raspberries that look yum, and also the tail end of the cherries - yes I know!!)

Down another couple of lbs this morning (I am a nearly daily weigher) so hurrah! And need to drink more water.

Gcalgske · 24/02/2016 09:55

Well done thumb I'm contemplating a swim when dd is in nursery this avo but it's snowing and I'm not sure if I can face it. I've been doing my exercise bike most days on top of Pilates and weights. I've been building up from 5 minutes (by a minute a day) and I'm up to 17, prolapse is just about coping. Any recommendations for a gel / donut exercise bike seat gratefully received.

ChesterDrawers · 24/02/2016 10:02

Well done Thumb. I'm just back from a freezing cold snotty 3.5mile run. Not pretty, or fun for that matter, but done nonetheless.

No ideas about a seat Gcal, that's one of the reasons I've never been a fan of cycling - ouch Shock

Sorry for your loss biwi Flowers

I'm properly back on the ball today. Yesterday went a bit crap but everything is sorted now, thanks to a very conscientious dentist. So while i am still under the weather, my mind is back on lc!

I make it myself Keepon, recipe on the recipe thread. It's lush, and I don't even like real donner meat! Lovely fatty lamb mince is on offer in Aldi at the mo too.

I actually just came on to share an exciting discovery I made with the leftovers. If you slice it up quite thin when cold it is the perfect recepticle for cheese, butter, maybe pate. Looks like rye bread so that what I told myself it was Grin

Thumb - come and join us on the Shred/any exercise thread!

Lunch - the last of my homemade bone broth with added courgettes, coconut oil and ACV.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 24/02/2016 14:20

I might do that, Nigella - if I manage to do the Shred again! I'd forgotten how demanding it is to someone of my limited bouncing ability. Blush Plus I cannot do press-ups to save my life. Never have been able to, despite amazing (to me!) strength in other areas - just not that one.
Also have to take the 3yo into account (he only goes 1 day a week to preschool).

But we'll see - once started, it's not so hard to get back into; it's the actual starting that's the really hard part, I find!

LexLoofah · 24/02/2016 14:20

thumb and chester yay on the excerise. I am supposed to be doing c25k but sinuses playing up so using as an excuse not to so you have put me to shame, as penance I have just vacuumed the whole house, that will have to do for today. Feeling like a good day anyway as got loads done pensions and investments wise as not really sorted since re-locating so massive sense of achievement to get them done at last.

lamb donner is also amazing sliced and fried in butter the next day with scr eggs or cabbage in butter

B - hot smoked salmon, scr eggs
S - small piece of grain free granola bar, not hungry just fancied something with my elevenses cup of earl grey, must not let that become a habit
L - spinach, roasted veg, lidl version of boursin - lovely. Sq 85% choc
D- will be slow cooker BBQ pork belly using the marks daily apple bbq sauce minus the honey but with a bit of sherry. I'll only have a little bit of the sauce. Will do with hm coleslaw.

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 24/02/2016 14:50

So far today I have had scrambled egg and mushroom for breakfast, and pork belly with broccoli and fried egg for lunch. 2 coffees with almond mik, 2 litres of water and a piece of 85% chocolate. Bloody antibiotics have to be 1 hour before food and 2hrs after food, so my eating will be over-scheduled for the next few days!!

shouldiblowthewhistle · 24/02/2016 15:27

thumb chester and gcal well done on the exercise. I really like the idea of 1 minute per day or something like that (maybe 5 mins per week). Shred is deceptively difficult IME.

I'm still at home with a tummy bug and feeling quite weak. I'm trying to eat for the nutrition but then it it still going through me so just resting.

Good news is that I'm not cheating Grin

What were they wand? I love home bargains. Try not to eat bars etc but I could use a quick option for the car....

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/02/2016 17:07

Oooh, melting dark choc and mixing in raspberries and nuts and resetting sounds lush! Awesome idea! I would mix in some double cream too. Where do you get Star Kay extracts from? Do they have them in Tesco?

I have fallen off the Shred wagon but I must get back to it. My hips are once again killing me so I need to maintain some core strength.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/02/2016 17:09

B: Greek yog, raspberries
L: Greek salad
D: Will be steak. I fancy microwaved neep mashed with butter, some broccoli and creamy peppercorn sauce with it, because I am bloody starving! Have not done v well with water so far - only 1.5 litres downed. Will have to drink it when I get home instead.

Gcalgske · 24/02/2016 17:17

Lakeland is where I get the Star Kay extracts tooextra, they are expensive but last forever and often on 3 for 2. I do sometimes add cream and make a ganache / truffle but you don't get the snap that you get if you just do the choc. Don't over heat the chocolate or it wont be glossy (you lose the temper)

You also get the freeze dried strawberry/ raspberry in Lakeland - they have nothing added but are (through virtue of the loss of water and concentration of flavour) HIGH CARB! But you use a tiny, tiny bit over the whole bar - I think in a 100g bar of 85% I used 2g of the freeze dried raspberry powder plus 25g toasted hazelnuts and 10g coconut strips and I got 15-20 portions out of that.

I do sometime dry my own raspberries in the dehydrator but I've been lazy.

I have the best and easiest to prepare bootcamp meal ever. Cheese. Just cheese. Grin

LexLoofah · 24/02/2016 19:49

beyond I am with you but might I also add that cheese + butter = heaven

NigellasGuest · 24/02/2016 21:02

Thumb it's ok, half the time I haven't shredded anyway and just post about dog walking or gardening which is exercise isn't it!

Gcalgske · 24/02/2016 21:32

18 mins on the exercise bike tonight but I'm in pain now - did a glutes heavy Pilates class last night but I'm not sure if I'm reaching my tolerance level for the bike Confused

Any of the science minded (def not me) know anything about exercise - would 2 or 3 sessions across the day of 10 or 15 minutes flat out be as good as 30 (which was what I was trying to build up to)

Gcalgske · 24/02/2016 21:43

Food today:

Coffee with 15ml cream
2 egg omelette cooked in butter and olive oil with spinach, shallot, mushrooms, ham and cheddar.
Coffee with 30ml cream
Pesto/cream/butter/chicken stock poached chicken thigh with button mushrooms, spinach and roasted cherry toms over courgettie.
