Morning all

<a class="break-all" href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Vwh_9-y9ejMjg_sFMCK38uoPqZZFps39T7RY-VdUaI8/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=0docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Vwh_9-y9ejMjg_sFMCK38uoPqZZFps39T7RY-VdUaI8/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here

No point me weighing in today as the weekend has been lovely shocking. My official weighing-in day is Friday, so hopefully all will be back to normal by then!

Those of you for whom the scales have slowed/stopped, in weeks 3 and 4, hopefully things will get moving again now.

I'm off to Leeds with work for a couple of days, so who knows what I'll be eating? I have, though, packed some boiled eggs, a pot of Total yoghurt and a couple of sachets of tuna in my little cool box, so I know that I have something to eat if the choices available to me aren't low carb.

Good luck all, and hope this is a good week for all of us

Vague eating it off the spoon is another option Wink

I have done that!

VikingLady · 16/02/2016 14:25

Woo-hoo! I'm down to 12st 8! 176lb!

I'd almost given up! I can't see any difference whatsoever, and I've been so depressed, stressed and busy that I've cheated almost every day, but the weight is finally coming off! I've now got enough willpower to stick it longer.

(Could someone add it to the spreadsheet for me please? Thank you).

Just have to work out how to stick to it whilst DF with no working kitchen in a freezing house. Whilst dealing with MIL's dementia and the care home, the kids allergies (ever increasing!) and SEN, plus I just joined two committees and signed up for a TEFL course. I might be nuts. But I'll be nuts and thin!!

BIWI · 16/02/2016 14:51

Yay! to nuts and thin Grin

I'm right behind you Viking at 177! Feels great doesn't it - give me nuts and thin any day Grin

VikingLady · 16/02/2016 17:20

God yes! I'll be nuts regardless of my size. I think I'm so tense now that added stressors like limited dirt really can't make things any worse!

StuntNun · 16/02/2016 17:34

Benefits of LCing for me (in no particular order):

Lost 36lb from 11st 8lb to 9st 0lb in 2013-2014 post DS3 then again in 2015-2016 post DS4

DH doesn't weigh-in but has lost approximately 2-3st

IBS has completely cleared up

Arthritic pain has completely cleared up

Gums are healthier since gingivitis has gone away

Asthma has almost entirely gone away

No PMT any more

No menstrual pain any more (after having to take Ibuprofen religiously as soon as the first pang hit)

Clearer, healthier skin

No carb/sugar cravings

Consistent energy through the day and right into the evening (especially important since I am up one to six times a night with DS3 and DS4

I get to sleep quickly and sleep really soundly (apart from aforementioned DSs)

Triglycerides have dropped from good to unmeasurably low

I love eating my healthy and nutrient-dense food

Reduced risk of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, dementia and cancer

I find exercise much easier

I look and feel so much better. I can look in the mirror and like what I see.

If I hadn't started this WOE I would probably be around 13st by now

I have taken some of my old pre-weight loss clothes to the charity shop because they're too big for me!

I get to eat full-fat dairy and fatty foods guilt-free

DrDiva · 16/02/2016 18:05

Thank you for the ideas BIWI and should - I love the idea of kind of tapas-style salad and roast veg. Will do that.

Water HOPELESS today. I really don't know how to do it when I have classes timetabled back to back for 8 hours without a break to refill or even draw breath let alone drink!

sheepysheep · 16/02/2016 18:21

I haven't cheated (which took monumental effort at times as I travel with work 3-4 days a week and also we had a long weekend away visiting family). But I have STS :-( Hopefully this week will be a whooshy week!

Jerm and Viking I've added you

Felicity I'm glad you've decided to stay. We can do this together Thanks

Nigella Congratulations. You've done so well.

Gcal I'd love to live with you. You are always helping out with recipes that look delicious

NigellasGuest · 16/02/2016 19:13

Thanks Wombat and yes I'd also like to move in with Gcal!!

BIWI I don't really remember the Total and peanut butter thingy but it sounds good - I think I might start experimenting again...

I'm doing braised cabbage steaks tonight, I think Gcal suggested it a while back. The others will have quinoa and other veg with it - for me, I think I will replace the quinoa with leftover cold chicken.

Patapouf · 16/02/2016 19:51

3 day experiment is on the cards for me, Im doing really well up until about 6pm when I get ravenously hungry but I'm too tired to cook anything substantial so pick at everything or end up scoffing something I shouldn't.

Today:

B: decaf coffee with unsweetened soy milk
L: boiled egg, chicken breast, pork scratchings (all the LC stuff I could find in coop!
D: I'm not even going to write it out but it was grotesquely carby and I actually feel sick, definitely overdid it. It's DHs birthday and he chose what we had, no LC version sadly and I felt mean refusing to have any so I caved. Sigh.

BIWI · 16/02/2016 20:19

Patapouf - can I suggest that if you're getting ravenously hungry by 6pm that you consider adding breakfast back in, rather than surviving on just coffee?

DrDiva · 16/02/2016 20:32

Well a delicious dinner had by all - salad and chicken, me with skin, friend without. Strawberries for dessert, me with cream, her without (sorry DS, I will restock tomorrow!) we are now blobbing.

btw I now feel that I have properly arrived in lcbc having had the big stick waggled in my direction Grin

wand I am the teacher and I just talk straight for hours trying to fit everything in for dofferent groups. You are right, I need to be much more prepared. Or send students down to the canteen to refill for me - they are such a lovely bunch I know someone would (one brought me coffee today).

DiscoDancer · 16/02/2016 20:44

Day 2 of my 'kick start BC' programme and I've got the cravings as well as the headache . Swigging water and I know it only lasts a few days but Arrgghh.

Does anyone have any experience of LCing interfering with periods? I know the good stuff ie reduced pmt etc, but I am two days late, no chance in hell I'm pregnant, did have lots of stabby pain like I usually get just before but nothing yet. I am never late....

will probably start in the next ten minutes

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 16/02/2016 22:04

Struggled with water today, no idea why
Managed a coffee this morning, two litres of tap water, pint of green tea and half a litre of sparkling water.

ApplySomePressure · 16/02/2016 22:13

B: pork belly slice fried in butter. BPC coffee
L: chicken leg with skin on. Cabbage and leeks fried in butter.
D: chicken, stuffed with cream cheese, wrapped in Parma ham.

Need more veg...Blush
2 litres of water.

Gcalgske · 16/02/2016 22:25

Creamy coffee
Green smoothie, bacon rib
Cottage pie with swede mash

Found v low carb stock cubes today, Aldi quixo. They aren't the best (have wheat inHmm) but less than 1g carb in a cube where as most others I've found are around 1g per serving (which is normally a 1/4 of a cube dissolved in 500mls water) so 4g each which can be a significant carb addition to a recipe. I try to use home made stock (stock from bones have great health benefits too for calcium/ gelatin) most of the time but like to have a cube in as a back up.

Engelbert · 16/02/2016 22:26

Lost 1/4 pound. Boo! Still though - I thought I hadn't cheated but I made BIWIs choc ice cream from the recipe thread on Sat, which disappeared in 3 days, so it's just possible that may account for it (It's delicious though if you have more willpower than I!)

KOKO. Have upped my exercise. Have been doing couch to 5k and can now run 5k (vv slowly) so looking to gradually increase to get to 10k. Also doing the utterly brutal, but I am assured very effective, 30 day shred. Would like to have lost a stone by next week (2lbs more off) so no more berries or ice-cream.

B- coffee & cream
L - bacon & brie in lettuce wraps
D- brocolli, leek & goats cheese tart/frittatta thing (no pastry) w salad

BetsyM00 · 17/02/2016 07:50

Weighing in with a 3lb loss this week, which I'm happy with. I'm now comfortably in the next size down of trousers.

Glad to see the thread taking a more positive turn and congratulations to FoodPorn who is our biggest loser so far with a 16.2lb whoosh in 5 weeks Smile

Love your list of benefits of LCing StuntNun. I'll add a massive improvement to my psoriasis and generally lovely soft skin.

I've been away with the family in a Bongo camper van for a few days and still managed to stick to this diet, for which I am ridiculously proud of myself. If anyone was around I was the one clearing snow from a picnic bench on the shores of Loch Ness to cook my bacon on Monday morning. The dog and I even climbed a hill mountain behind Drumnadrochit - I am feeling so much fitter!

VinceNoirLovesHowardMoon · 17/02/2016 09:28

I'm not really in bootcamp as I've just started but wanted to place mark on the thread as its inspiring! Veggie, doing bootcamp light in as much as I'm allowing myself strawberries and raspberries for pudding.
I posted on Sunday about feeling awful, could it have been carb flu after just 2 days?

BIWI · 17/02/2016 13:40

Yep - probably! Hope you're feeling OK now?

OP posts:
DiscoDancer · 17/02/2016 14:15

Massive case of carb fu going on here, feel awful! Am glugging the water though but I just feel yuk!

VinceNoirLovesHowardMoon · 17/02/2016 14:18

Yes I'm good now, feeling positive. Belly definitely less bloated since last week. The scales say 2lb down since Friday but I'm a daily weigher so not too excited until I weigh on Friday.
I'm never going to be a life long low carber (too limiting and expensive as a veggie) but I love the way it knocks sugar cravings on the head. I'm a sugar fiend. This is the 3rd day in a row with no sugar (I cheated on Sunday with a couple of valentines chocolates) and that's the longest I've gone since last spring Blush

Gcalgske · 17/02/2016 14:35

Flowers for disco, although chuckling at the typo. I have an image of a great carb fu master. The carb fu is strong with this one etc etc.

Did I mention I'm full of the cold and high temp and definitely quite possibly delirious.
