Week 3 - Low Carb Bootcamp - where you get to make a decision!

Afternoon all! Apologies for the later than usual start to this week's chat thread.

Here's the spreadsheet

I was up so early I completely forgot to weigh this morning Blush

Now. It's week 3, so you get to decide. Do you want to move onto Bootcamp Light, or do you want to stay on Bootcamp? Or, do you want to do both - Bootcamp during the week, and then relax at the weekend, with Bootcamp Light?

The rules for Bootcamp Light are at the bottom of the spreadsheet, but in a nutshell it means you can add nuts/seeds (occasionally, and in moderation); you can eat some fruit - mainly berries, and again in moderation, and you can have the occasional alcoholic drink - again, stick to spirits and wine.

If you're happy staying on Bootcamp, that's fine - but if you decide to do this, please make sure you're getting most of your carbs from veg and salad, and not from other processed foods, otherwise you won't be getting optimal nutrition.

And now for the warning! It's very, very common in weeks 3 and 4 (and sometimes even 5) for weight loss to slow/stop altogether. If this happens to you, please don't be disheartened. It's your body catching up with you! KOKO, and things will soon start to move again - albeit that you're more likely to see smaller weekly losses, around 1-2lbs a week.

Evening all. Pregnancy really does fuck your body up, doesn't it? I've not had as bad problems as some of you, but they certainly took there toll. Spd and a dreadful pelvic floor here, too.
I've done Pilates on and off and enjoy it, but struggle to go to a regular class.
I've ran and swam today, plus walked the dog for about an hour and a half, so ready for a well earned rest tonight.
B - creamy coffee x2 , avocado.
L - left over fathead pizza
D - roast chicken, mmm, lovely crispy skin. Had it with asparagus and courgette in butter and steamed green beans and broccoli. It was lovely and I didn't really miss the roasties, stuffing or gravy. Had an espresso with cream afterwards.
S - had a spicy chai latte this afternoon and may have another tonight.

I've enjoyed having the odd BC lite treat this weekend, will try to stick to BC again until next Friday evening.
Good luck with weigh in tomorrow everyone. Thanks

There's a Pilates Body Control website that provides a list of the instructors accredited under their system. There are another couple of Pilates bodies that my instructor recommends (but can't remember their names).

I just go once a week (£10/class) but I also do the Shred on 4 other days and adapt Gillian Daniels' ab exercises to be compatible with Pilates principles and my body For example, I do the exercises much more slowly and carefully, really focussing on my core muscles.

LexLoofah · 07/02/2016 20:27

ooh inspired to look up a Pilates class now, been thinking about it for a while, an inch taller you say? could do with a bit of that

B - bacon, fried eggs, avocado, 2x tea
L - ugh out at a family gathering at a carvery so had ham, a bit of mashed carrots and turnips, half a plateful of cabbage to which I added a few pats of butter. roasts are so much easier and fulfilling at home that out on lc, another cup of tea (I know). Sat and watched rest of family tuck into dessert then back at their house the pick & mix, leftover birthday cake and chocolates came out and I was not in the least bit bothered. It's the little slip ups I need to watch rather than a faceful of carby crap.
D - mushrooms & shrimp roasted in garlic butter over courgetti and a bit of parmesan - nice quick meal

Flowers for everyone who is having a hard time, hope you have good news on the scales tomorrow

Moanranger · 07/02/2016 20:52

B - 1/3 of cheese & avocado omlette with sour cream & home-made ranchero (tomato) sauce. Coffee & cream
L -salad & tuna mayo
Snack -salami wrapped around celery
D cauliflower mash, with added Boursin, roasted chicken breast with more ranchero sauce & cheese. Surprisingly tasty. Homemade sauces a faff, but defo worth it. This one comes from the "Always Hungry" diet book (LC) no sugar in it. I also make huge pots of soup
( Jamie's Tomato & basil & a somewhat modified WW curried broccoli soup)
Very little afternoon blahs, which is good, and did lots of exercise & heavy duty housework, so am shattered.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/02/2016 21:00

Pretty, I'm in Scotland too - where is your class? I'm in Midlothian.

D: Roast beef with swede two ways. Grin Microwaved half a swede and mashed butter into it and it was seriously awesome. And I cut the other half into chunks and roasted them, but I don't think I'll bother doing that another time - the mash was nicer.

DH made some dark choc, cream and avocado mousse, so I might go and have a little bit with a decaff coffee and cream. He put in a tiny bit of maple syrup and half a teaspoon of sugar, so I'll only have a very small blob.

AuntieMaggie · 07/02/2016 21:08

TrinityForce I didn't weigh last week as I had my period and I know I put on about 5lbs without eating any differently and that it would be hard on top of the cravings, period pain, etc to not go off the rails. The good news is after eating this way for a few months before my periods affected me less and I didn't get the huge weight gain... hopefully it will be the same for you too.

Gcalgske · 07/02/2016 21:37

There's a lot of non BC or even BC lite stuff going on for some folks, I'd be watching out for the big stick you lot! Grin

Today:
B: creamy coffee
L: 1/4 of a fathead garlic bread with cherry toms, pepperoni and cheese
D: pork belly strips with roasted shallot and radish, earl grey tea cream frozen and eaten out of the freezer.

Probably had too much pork, dished and ate two strips and then another two I'd planned for tomorrow's lunch.

BIWI · 07/02/2016 22:11

Come on you lot - we're only in week 3!

(is that what you meant, Gcalgske?!)

I messed up this week. Been in hospital and not been sticking to the rules. I won't be weighing myself 2mrw and getting back in it straight away!! Will be logging in food every day.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 08/02/2016 02:34

Beyond - thanks, but I've been seeing an osteo regularly for nearly 20 years now - definitely does more good than harm!

My osteo did a fabulous technique on me during my 2nd pg, which helped enormously with the SPD; I still occasionally need it done if I've lain wonky in bed, or done something stupid (happens! usually involving shopping trolleys). If anyone needs it, I can post it here if you like.

knowclue · 08/02/2016 06:13

Morning all, hope the scales are kind to everyone today Flowers

Weekend was lovely, family party with everyone there. I found avoiding carbs fairly okay until it came to the actual meal part (keeping quiet re diet, they've heard it so many times before Sad), small portions and did my best but weight is STILL up this morning!
So, an average across the week - 139 for me please kind spreadsheet adjuster.
Good luck all!

HammerToFall · 08/02/2016 06:13

4lb done for me this week, had seen a 7lb loss on Friday but had a couple
Of wines on Friday night so I'm happy with that.

DiscoDancer · 08/02/2016 06:49

Can someone add my weight of 74.7 kg please. It has really fluctuated this week but that was my lowest. I had a tough day yesterday due to being at a relatives house all day but back on it this morning.

Hope your scales are good to you all today!

BetsyM00 · 08/02/2016 06:59

I'm sts this week, but inches lost rather than weight. I feel thinner!

Have added knowclue and DiscoDancer fantastic losses to the spreadsheet.

HammerToFall · 08/02/2016 07:07

Could
Someone pls add mine to spreadsheet. It hasn't worked for last week either. Sta last week and four off this week. Thanks

StuntNun · 08/02/2016 07:19

Yay two pounds off for me does happy dance. It's probably mostly water due to the departure of Auntie Flo last week but I'm nearly there so I don't care! One pound to go to my goal weight! Bye bye baby weight and hello maintenance.

StuntNun · 08/02/2016 07:20

It can be done peeps. This is my second time losing weight on Bootcamp (due to getting pregnant upon reaching my goal weight the first time round). So KOKO, this WOE really works.

blackteaplease · 08/02/2016 07:28

Morning all. Can someone please add me to the spreadsheet please? 157. 25 a good week for me.

BetsyM00 · 08/02/2016 07:29
