Morning campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope it was a good week, and I hope that those of you who have been suffering from carb flu are starting to feel better. Remember, keep up the electrolytes - sodium, potassium and magnesium. Which means firstly that you have to make sure you're getting plenty of salt - so salt your food during cooking and add salt to cooked food.

For potassium, you could also consider Lo-Salt. Good foods for all electrolytes include salmon, avocado, spinach and full fat (of course!) natural yoghurt.

A note about weighing in

If you're a daily weigher, you have several different options. You can either just record your weight every Monday (or whatever regular day of the week you choose - I am going to start weighing in on a Saturday, because my trainer records my weight as well, to keep me on track!).

Or you can record the lowest weight you achieved in that week

Or you can average your weights and record the average.

Whatever you decide, I hope it's a positive result!

Flowers for all those struggling with external worries and woes. It's so hard to stick to lowcarb when you are tired and stressed, so well done for KOKO. During the last BC, when my little world was turned upside down, I couldn't eat at all and was getting by on barely a chunk of cheese a day - not recommended for weightloss or general health! Life is still not great but thankfully my appetite has returned so I can at least eat even if I do let the stress lead me to too much wine.

Feeling like my cold fug is finally lifting. If there's any justice in the world I will have lost about 3lbs in snot alone this week!

Today's plan:
B: left over courgette and feta fritters, HM mayo
L: Left over roast chicken, avocado, salad leaves, olive oil dressing
D: not sure, was supposed to be spag bol in the slow cooker but I didn't have time to sort it this morning... Will report back later Grin

Viking my DS is dairy free too, and yes it's a pain. Especially as he is such a brilliant eater that I am Sad at all the things I know he would love and can't eat. He is now 3.5 and no longer sensitive to cross contamination, so am hopeful he is growing out of it. Thanks for the coconut oil recommendation gcalske that's one of the few I haven't tried!
Had cauliflower pizza last night. While DH had normal. And yes, I am renowned for my asbestos hands which are needed!!
And Flowers for all those going through tough times.
Breakfast this morning was bolognese and courgettes. I could get used to this sumptuous breakfast thing.

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 26/01/2016 10:45

Morning :)

Also living on scraps here Grin breakfast was two pieces of bacon, lunch will be tuna salad, dinner pork chops and veg

MollyRedskirts · 26/01/2016 10:50

My, ahem, friend does usually order a chicken kebab but her husband was being a pain and wanted to order from a place that had horrible chewy chicken last time. Thanks. Grin

Ah well. I'm 1lb down again this morning.

needtoloseastone · 26/01/2016 10:50

Morning can somebody add my weight as 130lbs please. I'm really enjoying this WOE ans not hungry for snacks at all 😊 I have also vowed not to go anywhere near the bakery section in Tesco which is the reason I became so fat 😕

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 26/01/2016 11:07

There's a programme on TV tonight....sugar free farm which looks interesting. Some celebs stuck on a farm with no sugar, inc no hidden sugar. Jane McDonald was just on This Morning saying after two weeks her tastebuds have changed and she can't stand sugar now.

MushroomTree · 26/01/2016 11:11

Had a good first week diet wise but going to weigh myself and add to spreadsheet tomorrow as I think my scales are out.

I've had some very erratic readings so DP is picking up a new pair of scales today and I'll start again tomorrow morning.

Looking forward to tonight's dinner of trout wrapped in cream cheese and parma ham, with broccoli mash and buttered leeks.

Well done for all the great losses everyone!

NigellasGuest · 26/01/2016 11:19

Thanks to the posters who gave input re. BPC. Sorry not to namecheck, thread moves fast! Obviously my version was awful because I put cream in too, so will have another try sometime.

Still wondering why only one a day is advised? Is it because only one coffee a day is allowed? (In which case I have failed because I always have two coffees per morning). The additional ingredients of butter and coconut oil in a BPC cannot be overdone, surely?

Mookbark · 26/01/2016 11:28

Nigella i think is was Stuntnun who said it was because they are calorie dense, but nutrient poor.
Just having a late breakfast of avocado mashed with butter. Lovely.

StuntNun · 26/01/2016 11:56

There are a couple of reasons for recommending no more than one bulletproof coffee per day. The most important one is that a BPC is nutrient-poor; it gives you about 10% of the RDA of vitamin A and not much else. Two BPCs total 400-450 calories which will make it that much harder to get enough nutrients in your diet.

The other factor is that each BPC is very high in fat. While this is a high fat diet, you want to use up your body fat stores rather than dietary fat. If you are more than half a stone above your goal weight then you probably shouldn't drink BPCs at all unless you're having one instead of breakfast. When you are close to your goal weight then your macronutrient ratios become much more important for weight loss. Many people find their weight loss stalls near goal unless they increase their fat macro to 75% or higher. It's actually quite difficult to eat that proportion of fat without consuming foods that are almost pure fat.

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 26/01/2016 12:34

I went with tuna (in oil) with salad leaves, red cabbage, olive oil and olives

Shopping is now here, yay!! Ribs for dinner :)

LexLoofah · 26/01/2016 13:03

who fat head pizza recipe

Yes it does have nuts so OK after first 2 weeks ( I am BC lite now as started start of Jan), sorry for mentioning for those who have to wait until next week but at least the amount of nuts is controlled, I think the reason for holding off on nuts initially is it is very easy to over eat them when you first start out but by the time you are fat adapted you either won't need to snack all or a small handful will do rather than a bag full if that makes sense

for cauli pizza I sort of make in stages so steam the cauli then let it air dry/cool down a bit (I use a big splatter guard over a bowl and spread it out on that) and then wring it out and use it or stash it in the fridge until I am ready to bake, you really do need asbestos hands to wring it straight from the steamer!

ami9 · 26/01/2016 13:06

Stuntnun thank you for explaining that. It makes so much sense😊 xx

... which demonstrates the importance of meal planning, and shopping accordingly, Wand!

Post gym, when you need protein, nothing better than a couple of boiled eggs - easy to do, and easy to have hard boiled eggs in the fridge.

no time to add meals for a few days - will catch up later

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 26/01/2016 13:41

I have a cup of salted caramel tea here. I am impressed. I think this alone has cured my addiction to sweet stuff Grin

NigellasGuest · 26/01/2016 14:08

Thanks StuntNun for the explanation... I guess I will just steer clear because I have a good half a stone still to lose. Best to just have equal proportions of protein, veg and fat in every meal then?

Gcalgske · 26/01/2016 14:45

Who posted about avocado stones in the nutrininja?

They are mildly toxic (persin) now and again it probably wouldn't hurt but toxicity could build up so best not! It's also quite harmful to dogs/ cats.

NigellasGuest · 26/01/2016 15:37

B:scrambled eggs with coconut oil & butter

L: a few slices of butter-roasted lamb, with a good portion of fresh spinach leaves to mop up the juices

D: not sure yet

Plus, I did the Shred this morning. And yesterday, i planted a large-ish tree!

DrDiva · 26/01/2016 15:40

Has anyone tried gingerbread green tea?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 26/01/2016 16:08

B: Greek yog
L: Discovered this morning that there was no lettuce, so planned lunch of ham & mozzarella salad was out. Wound up improvising with a pre-packed salad from the work canteen - it had coleslaw which might have been a bit carby, as it was probably made with light mayonnaise. But there wasn't that much coleslaw and the rest was eggs, cheese, tuna and salad.

S: BabyBel

Not sure what we will have for dinner - it was supposed to be bolognese but I intended to make it yesterday and didn't. Might have to stop at the shop on the way home seeing as we have a sneaky day off tomorrow and I fancy something special like smoked salmon for brekkie.

Nigella, yay for doing the Shred! I keep intending to start and then not doing it.

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 26/01/2016 16:10

I was wondering that drdiva, does anyone know whether it tastes any different to just plain old ginger? There was a third one as well but i cant remember it? Fudge??

Wombatinabathhat · 26/01/2016 16:30
