Morning campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope it was a good week, and I hope that those of you who have been suffering from carb flu are starting to feel better. Remember, keep up the electrolytes - sodium, potassium and magnesium. Which means firstly that you have to make sure you're getting plenty of salt - so salt your food during cooking and add salt to cooked food.

For potassium, you could also consider Lo-Salt. Good foods for all electrolytes include salmon, avocado, spinach and full fat (of course!) natural yoghurt.

A note about weighing in

If you're a daily weigher, you have several different options. You can either just record your weight every Monday (or whatever regular day of the week you choose - I am going to start weighing in on a Saturday, because my trainer records my weight as well, to keep me on track!).

Or you can record the lowest weight you achieved in that week

Or you can average your weights and record the average.

Whatever you decide, I hope it's a positive result!

OK thanksBIWI was thinking of using it more to track exercise etc I really don't want to get fixated on food but I thought it might be good in the beginning to check carb content, don't want to make another mistake like the petit pois incident! Thank you for your advice as usual, you are making such a difference!

BIWI · 29/01/2016 21:26

Grin @ the petit pois incident!!!

In terms of your macros, you should probably be looking at around 65-70 for fat, 20-25 for protein and 5-15 for carbs. StuntNun will be a better person to advise you though, as she has much, more scientific knowledge than Ido.

Heres mine for the last 7 days, fohamy

Week 2 - 2016 Low Carb Bootcamp - our first official weigh-in!
fohamy12 · 29/01/2016 21:33

Thank you, those are the kind of percentages I was thinking of. Like I said its more for exercise really, the best thing about LCHF, in my opinion is NOT weighing and measuring food and that's what makes it a WOE and not a diet. That and the double cream, butter and loads of lovely steak! Thanks BIWIGrin

fohamy12 · 29/01/2016 21:36

Thanks beyond I will do the same macros as you, and well done on achieving your goals all week!Smile

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 29/01/2016 21:38

B. Skyr yoghurt.
L. Fried egg, mushrooms, bacon.
S. Babybel.
D. Prawn and veg stirfry. Bit of soya sauce and lime juice.

StuntNun · 29/01/2016 22:53

Fohamy carbs 5-10%, protein 20-25%, fat 75-80% are good starting points for macros. If you're more than a stone overweight then the fat macro doesn't need to be so high since you'll be burning body fat.

Skyr yoghurt is low fat so add double cream to make it suitable for this woe.

Forgive me BIWI for i have sinned.
I caved into comfort eating whilst I was in the local supermarket
I know it is not big or clever.
Please forgive the bottle of flavoured fizzy water I have just drunk.

Patapouf · 30/01/2016 01:05

Thanks lex I'll have to give that a go over the weekend.

B: chicken drumstick, bit of cheese
L: leftover Meatzza (very delicious, next time I'll cook the base on a tray because it wasn't very dry)
D: 2 chicken breasts plus lettuce, cucumber and some cabbage in Mayo.

4 l of water

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 30/01/2016 03:10

Thanks for good wishes re. tooth, and I'm pleased to hear your ceramic onlay has been so successful, Einstein! Mine should be done a week tuesday - until then, caution and chewing on t'other side!

Breakfast today: piece of cheese
Lunch: 1 HB egg, whole avocado, remains of salmon paté and iceberg lettuce all chopped and mixed together.
Drinking better, but still not enough.

Still very happy that I'm not hungry though! Grin

blackteaplease · 30/01/2016 07:07

I am so cross with myself. I have lost 2lbs this week and put it back on again comfort eating. I have a cold and cluster feeding baby and succumbed to the children's treat cupboard.

Back on it today (stern face).

BIWI · 30/01/2016 08:07

Patapouf - doesn't look like you've got much veg going on in your menu?

YesEinstein - don't think that will be too bad in the great scheme of things!

blacktea - drink lots of water and make sure you keep your carbs super low for the next couple of days and you should be fine

Just had dinner.
Pan fried snapper with tartare sauce (homemade), beans and buttered carrots. And butter-fried prawns too. Tartare sauce probs = a no no because of pickles (cornichons and capers) but had to be done because fish was too bland without. And I know re the carrots but DH has a fixation on them. :(
None of us had spuds though Wink

BIWI · 30/01/2016 08:23

Actually I don't think cornichons and capers are that bad, Thumb. Certainly gherkins are OK. Let me have a look ...

OP posts:
BIWI · 30/01/2016 08:26

In 28g of cornichons (around 1oz) there is only 1g carbs, and in a (drained) tablespoon of capers there's 0.1g carbs.

So they're fine. But about those carrots ...

You really do need to get DH to listen to you - or alternatively, you could just not eat them?! Grin

OP posts:
ThumbWitchesAbroad · 30/01/2016 08:37

Yeah but then I would only have had beans and fish... I know, I know - we need to find more low carb alternative veg that the boys will all both eat.

Good news about the cornichons and capers though, thank you! I can have my tartare sauce without guilt now! Grin

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 30/01/2016 08:56

Morning :)

Breakfast of streaky bacon and scrambled egg, w black coffee

Mookbark · 30/01/2016 08:58

I often make tartare sauce Thumb, it's a good way of getting fat into a fish dish.

I was craving last night. Not sure exactly what, think wine, chocolate, nuts all of them. Brought on by stress - wet dog jumped all over our white duvet turning it brown, DS7 crying inconsolably for no apparent reason apart from tiredness and DS14 told me to fuck off! All within about half an hour.
But, DH Stripped the bed, DS7 agreed to let me read to him in bed and DS14 apologised and I stayed strong. I had a spicy chai almond latte instead.

Not sure what I'm going to eat today, might have brunch of avocado, eggs and bacon.
Need to get some food in for dinner, might do toad in the hole and I'll have the toad without the hole Grin

Mookbark · 30/01/2016 09:01

Oh, and when I was stressed, I was doing angry crochet. DH knows to keep away when I'm jabbing fiercely at the wool. Grin At least I can't eat and crochet.

FelicityFunknickle · 30/01/2016 09:08

Well done Mookbark impressive.

I am ashamed to say I faltered last night. 2 disallowed drinks. Blush
But I did not snack.

ShebaQueen · 30/01/2016 09:15

Morning all, have been away with work but stuck to bootcamp rules despite some challenges. Off to my little nephew's birthday party today but will be eating before I go and avoiding the party food like the plague. Tried on a few things last night including a pair of jeans I use as motivation - I really, really want to fit into them again. Was so pleased to get past my thighs although not zipped up yet - I can't move or breathe in them, but it's a major milestone! I recommend measuring yourself or trying things on as a motivator if the scales aren't budging, I also have a belt I used to wear years ago, I'm on the first hole at the moment with three more to go to reach my old shape. Have a good weekend everyone.

ShebaQueen · 30/01/2016 09:16

Lol at angry crochet Mook, keeping your hands busy is a good idea Smile

Mookbark · 30/01/2016 09:18

Thanks Felicity I feel smug about it this morning, but it was touch and go last night. I did have the argument in my head that BC was almost over, so a drink or two wouldn't be too bad. Tbh, if you just had two drinks (wine? G&T? Or beer - not so good?) then I don't think it will be too bad as long as you are eating correctly otherwise. I see this as a long term WOE and I won't be able to sustain it long term without some treats and off piste moments.

Mookbark · 30/01/2016 09:20

Sheba Grin It does work.
Well done on the jeans, I have some clothes in the attic I was thinking of getting down and having a look at.

DrDiva · 30/01/2016 09:32

I have just has an utter car crash of a 24 hours Sad
The water was particularly bad and I am paying the price today (really feel it now if I am dehydrated).

Back on horse.
