Morning campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope it was a good week, and I hope that those of you who have been suffering from carb flu are starting to feel better. Remember, keep up the electrolytes - sodium, potassium and magnesium. Which means firstly that you have to make sure you're getting plenty of salt - so salt your food during cooking and add salt to cooked food.

For potassium, you could also consider Lo-Salt. Good foods for all electrolytes include salmon, avocado, spinach and full fat (of course!) natural yoghurt.

A note about weighing in

If you're a daily weigher, you have several different options. You can either just record your weight every Monday (or whatever regular day of the week you choose - I am going to start weighing in on a Saturday, because my trainer records my weight as well, to keep me on track!).

Or you can record the lowest weight you achieved in that week

Or you can average your weights and record the average.

Whatever you decide, I hope it's a positive result!

Stuntnun I love you - I shall be doing level 1 shredding for full 30 days. Will suit my advanced years and knackered pelvic floor!

How depressing about cacao powder. I make a lot of raw choccie brownies/homemade naked bars for DD. At least she won't moan that I've been nibbling at her stash!

Hope all those under the weather feel much brighter soon xxx

Gcalgske · 28/01/2016 22:24

Flowers auntiemaggie me too with the PGP/SPD, my DD is 3, I'm about ok now with regular adjustments from my osteopath and daily Pilates, still super hypermobile through my pelvis and I normally get a TOM flare up. Had some minor low back surgery to try to fix damaged nerves (pelvic mobility crushed them in labour), it's been quite successful but I'm still on pain meds.

FelicityFunknickle · 28/01/2016 23:05

Poor Einstein. Hope it heals soon.

shouldiblowthewhistle yay! 2lb down. Well done.

I struggled a bit today but not sure why. Moody? (Moi?) but I am definitely less hungry in the day than I was pre bc

B: bpc, feta and spinach omelette
L: ham and cheddar salad with olives and mayonnaise. A few pork scratchings
D: 3 lc sausages on a large plate of kale. Total ff yogurt
Coffee with cream.

I am going to have wine on Sunday. Blush. Big, significant lunch in the Style of Christmas. I will be watching myself closely for how I manage to moderate that. And how I manage to jump back on the wagon quickly.
I won't be having stuffing or cranberry sauce ir roast potatoes though.

Good luck everyone.

ChesterDrawers · 29/01/2016 08:35

Friday at last, thank the Lord! Scales still on a downward trend here, just hoping I don't eff it up over the weekend. Birthday party tonight, out with DH tomorrow and then DH's birthday on Sunday - January is crazy in my family!

Today's plan:
B: eggs, butter, cheese, coffee with cream
L: broccoli and roule soup if there's enough
D: Chicken curry, cauli rice

Off to the gym after I've done school run and walked dog. Might treat myself to a sauna and jacuzzi afterwards Grin

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 29/01/2016 09:19

Breakfast - scrambled egg in butter
Lunch - cottage pie (sans potato, obv) with broccoli
Dinner - chicken and avocado

mustbemad71 · 29/01/2016 09:23

Einstein hope you are feeling better this morning.

Chester and Felicity enjoy the weekend of festivities!

B was eggs and mushed avo.
L Probably a spinach and cheese omelette
D fancying Chester's idea of curry and Cauli rice.

Fam trip to flicks tonight - have told them all to not gorge themselves on Ben & Jerry's in front of me!

readyforno2 · 29/01/2016 09:34

Food yesterday

B mushrooms
L cheese salad from IKEA with mayo
D sausages with mashed turnip and a fried duck egg

Today
B scrambled duck eggs with mushrooms

One litre water so far and a cup of coffee.

I'm struggling more this time than I remember from before. Does carb flu make you feel exhausted or have I caught something from one of the little germ factories at work?

ami9 · 29/01/2016 09:37

So glad its Friday today😀 i have planned ahead for our weekend meal will be having a mixed grill. Im getting good at this😉 i feel i am always thirsty I am drinking twice as much compared to the weight table. I am really thirsty when I wake up. Due to drinking all the water I can only eat a very small portion of chicken and veg/fish and veg. Is that normal? Also i am having really bad breath. My 4 yr old commented mummy forgot to brush her teeth😷 are we allowed any chewing gums? On the positive side i am sleeping very well, feel more happy and energised. Love the way i am not always hungry or thinking of food and feel like i am losing weight. Will weigh myself on monday xx

readyforno2 · 29/01/2016 10:00

Actually, scrap that.
Turns out scrambled duck eggs aren't very nice.

DartmoorDoughnut · 29/01/2016 10:10

I found that out too ready during the last bootcamp Envy only thing they're good for in my eyes is baking sadly!

Vazder · 29/01/2016 10:12

I must try this WOE. It sounds doable. Just.

Mookbark · 29/01/2016 10:12

Morning everyone. Yay for the weekend. It's looking like my working day is going to be shorter than expected ( another Yay), so rather than a quick visit to the gym on the way home, I'm hoping to copy Chester and have a swim and a steam as well.
Food today is
B - avocado, coffee with cream
L - cottage pie with celeriac mash
D - don't know, might pick up steak on the way home and have with a peppercorn sauce and veg

Does anyone have the lean in 15 book? The book people at work are selling it for £5. He splits it into LC recipes and post workout carb reloading recipes. I'll ignore the latter, but some of the LC recipes look lovely and easy to make.

YesEinsteinsMumDid · 29/01/2016 10:30

Soft boiled duck eggs are lovely!

Today I have managed to scramble 3 eggs in butter for breakfast. Shoulder is still rather sore but there is a bit more movement. Must remember to continue avoiding to do stuff for a few more days though to reduce the swelling. There are some perks to be hypermobile, you recover a bit quicker with the right physio HmmGrin

Didn't drink enough water yesterday and have a bit of a headache this morning. So I have my 2x 1ltr water bottles ready to be filled and drunk through out today. Drunk some water but not idea how much atm. And as I need nearly 4 ltrs water/day I hope to need to refil the bottles by 8pm which is when I actually drink the most water, just before bed Confused

readyforno2 · 29/01/2016 10:36

Fried duck eggs are yummy too! I wonder why when scrambled the taste so awful?

recyclingbag · 29/01/2016 10:46

Morning all!

I slipped up a bit this morning and had a latte. There were reasons!

Yesterday I don't think I ate enough. I had yoga until 9 and ate afterwards which was too late too. This morning I was feeling quite shaky and dizzy.

I've had bacon and avocado for breakfast but need to make sure I have a hefty lunch. I'm still feeling a bit light headed.

Steak and celeriac chips for tea Smile

BIWI · 29/01/2016 10:49

Sorry for absence - have had a really busy few days. Not been good on the BC front at all - mostly out of my control, but a bit of self-sabotage creeping in, which has made me very cross with myself. But, as they say, tomorrow (today!) is another day, so back on the wagon properly.

ami if you're constantly thirsty, but you're drinking plenty of water, this is a sign that you need more sodium. Are you using salt in/on your food? Try drinking a hot drink made from Oxo/Bovril or Marmite.

Ami the thirst can mean that you're low on electrolytes - I was getting this - I felt like the more I drank, the thirstier I became! someone else will give more science StuntNun? but you need to get more salt, preferably LoSalt. I think the bad breath is a bit of a "thing" with this WOE for some people. But unfortunately I think chewing gum contains Something Bad and Not Allowed. (Hopefully someone who knows will post).

MustBeMad and other shredders- did you shred this morning? I somehow managed it despite suddenly having to drive DD1 to a bus station first thing because she over slept Hmm
Then had omelette with 2 eggs, coconut oil, butter and a handful of spinach leaves.
I wonder is it better to eat before or after shredding/exercising? I tend to exercise on an empty stomach first thing.

mustbemad71 · 29/01/2016 11:08

Nigella yes I did it! I've started another thread where we can log what we've done to keep us motivated. I really enjoyed it and think it should be doable for me. Plan to do first thing each day before breakkie.

Patapouf · 29/01/2016 11:13

I think it's because most chewing gum is sugar free with artificial sweeteners that can trigger an insulin response in some people. The bad breath is down to ketosis! Is usually have it for a week or so before it goes.

AuntieMaggie · 29/01/2016 11:19

Gcalgske Flowers sucks doesn't it? I get TOM and ovulation flare ups and was strengthening the muscles with physio and weights but another health issue derailed me so haven't done anything for a few months.

NigellasGuest · 29/01/2016 11:31

WELL DONE! I will look for your other thread so that I don't drone on about it here.

To PP who suggested Dr Oetker's Vanilla Grinder thank you - I am going to look for that in Waitrose, hopefully they stock it. Looks perfect! But I'm still going to try and make my own vanilla essence cos I'm weird like that Grin

antimatter · 29/01/2016 11:53

Only 1 lb down since Monday Sad
I think cream is stalling me a lot! I shall abstain from diary for the next week or so and see what scales will show.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 29/01/2016 12:13

Einstein - hope you're feeling better today!

I've not lost a huge amount of weight but size wise, the difference is really starting to show. I now only look at most 4m pg instead of 7m, and the muffin has gone right down at the sides - hurrah!

And had a 2h dental appt today to try and sort my broken molar out - I now have a temporary cap thing on it, waiting for a ceramic "onlay" to be made, which will be fitted in another 10 days. This makes eating on that side just as tricky as it was with the broken molar - more so, in fact, as the dentist has warned me that the temporary cap isn't very stable - wooohoo! Hmm

Didn't eat much yesterday at all, and today had fried halloumi and cucumber slices for lunch, roast turkey with mushrooms, broccoli and carrots (I know, not supposed to have those) for dinner tonight.

I'm definitely feeling less hungry, which is excellent! Grin

LexLoofah · 29/01/2016 12:54
