Morning campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope it was a good week, and I hope that those of you who have been suffering from carb flu are starting to feel better. Remember, keep up the electrolytes - sodium, potassium and magnesium. Which means firstly that you have to make sure you're getting plenty of salt - so salt your food during cooking and add salt to cooked food.

For potassium, you could also consider Lo-Salt. Good foods for all electrolytes include salmon, avocado, spinach and full fat (of course!) natural yoghurt.

A note about weighing in

If you're a daily weigher, you have several different options. You can either just record your weight every Monday (or whatever regular day of the week you choose - I am going to start weighing in on a Saturday, because my trainer records my weight as well, to keep me on track!).

Or you can record the lowest weight you achieved in that week

Or you can average your weights and record the average.

Whatever you decide, I hope it's a positive result!

Thanks Gcalgske Flowers I am going to bribe ds to prep me some veg for tomo.

Food has been gappy as I have spent most the day in and out of sleep. Ds has done sausage and scrambled egg for tea and I picked at some celery and philly this afternoon. A bit too much processed but shoulder is settling a little so hoping to be slightly more capable tomo.

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 28/01/2016 18:39

Chicken and avocado for dinner. Off to a friends now, taking some salted caramel tea bags with me Grin

Patapouf · 28/01/2016 18:49

I invested in some of those salted caramel tea bags nearly £3 for 20?! and I don't love them. I think the cherry bakewell ones are much nicer. Loads of mentions of the butttermint but I have never seen it in a supermarket, where are you all shopping?

B: egg muffins, bit of cheddar
L: chicken breast, lettuce and oily Mayo dressing
D: meatzza with mushrooms and shallot as the topping I think

Crap with the water so far today and I've had horrible shooting pains near my kidneys so I'll be guzzling that until bedtime.

It was the electrolyte thing that made me buy it, was wondering if feeling ill was actual carb flu and not viral!
I'm currently coping with temptation in the form of a vat of marmalade my dh has decided to make. Can't begin to describe the smell, even through bunged up sinuses!

feekerry · 28/01/2016 19:32

Need to eat more meat. I eat loads of fish (nearly every meal) but if I'm going to keep this varied etc I need to incorporate more meat. Not a massive meat fan anyway but...
I like ribs. But usually the ones covered in sticky bad sauce!!
If I get some plain ribs from butcher ( beef or pork??) would the my be yak if I just had them without any sauce? Do I need to boil them first or just stick em in the oven???

Equiem89 · 28/01/2016 19:40

ditchthewheat.com/low-carb-fall-off-the-bone-ribs/ Would this be ok? If you miss off maple sauce?

Equiem89 · 28/01/2016 19:40

Syrup not sauce Hmm

StuntNun · 28/01/2016 19:56

Mustbemad cacao powder is about 40% carbs. Use vary sparingly if at all. I make raw chocolates sometimes using Sweet Freedom but it's very hard to resist them. But then I'm a chocaholic.

No clue Wand, sorry. It does sound like rubbish though doesn't it?

My top tip for people doing the 30 Day Shred is don't move on from level 1 unless you're finding it easy. Level 1 has a lot of great exercises and you can get more from the same exercises by adding more weight or following the advanced form of the exercise. To be honest you could probably just do 30 days of level 1 and get brilliant results.

feekerry · 28/01/2016 19:58

Hmm looks nice. Bit frightened of my slow cooker tho as I seem to turn everything beige and bland. May need to dig it out!!

StuntNun · 28/01/2016 20:01

Equiem this is the recipe I use for spare ribs or chicken wings. You could leave out the honey but it does help to get them to crisp up nicely. This makes up enough for at least two batches (it keeps well in the fridge) so you would only have about a quarter of tablespoon of honey in your finished portion.

Barbecue sauce adapted from Mark's Daily Apple

1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 tablespoon honey
3 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon mustard
2 tablespoons water
1⁄4 teaspoon ground allspice
1⁄4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1⁄4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1⁄2 teaspoon chili powder
1⁄2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

shouldiblowthewhistle · 28/01/2016 20:05

Evening all! I feel a bit silly about being so broken last night Blush. Thanks for the kind words and lack of judgement Flowers. Felicity I like the idea of some interesting herbal teas, great idea. BIWI I agree that using alcohol for stress relief is not the answer and I'm trying hard to get into yoga. Will take a little while to set up that habit but I'll get there. I didn't have a glass of wine in the end.

I was 2 pounds lighter this morning Smile

A few colleagues said they were broken too and had cried this week so I think it was just work stress and not being able to take the edge off when I got home.

Einstein I hope you're recovering quickly. Sounds awful.

StuntNun that looks nice. How do u actually cook the ribs tho?
I'm used to buying the pre done ones I just put in oven.
Can I just put in oven and cover or do I need to boil or pre cook first?

LexLoofah · 28/01/2016 21:10

equiem these are v good slow cooker ribs and no sugar, leftovers were exceedingly good in egg fried rice using cauli rice

pata I know I searched high and low for the buttermint and found them in the co-op, I hate green tea otherwise would try the other ones

I was craving snacks this afternoon but fatty ones not carbs so had slice of cheese spread with butter and some crackling

Patapouf · 28/01/2016 21:20

Thanks lex I might have to hunt down a coop then!

SayrraT · 28/01/2016 21:21

Just signing in. In bed already, pretty shattered but managing to stick to BC which I think is a miracle.

I'll do spreadsheet stuff on Sat but huge thank you to wombat and thumb (hope your tooth is OK!) for keeping it organised this BC. Flowers

DartmoorDoughnut · 28/01/2016 21:23

B-omelette with a bit of cheddar
L-wasn't really hungry, left over cheesy leeks and a bit of sausage
D-steak and large salad with some mayo
S-babybel at about 7:30 as I'd eaten with my DS at 5 and was bloody starving!
Lots of water too Smile
