Morning campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope it was a good week, and I hope that those of you who have been suffering from carb flu are starting to feel better. Remember, keep up the electrolytes - sodium, potassium and magnesium. Which means firstly that you have to make sure you're getting plenty of salt - so salt your food during cooking and add salt to cooked food.

For potassium, you could also consider Lo-Salt. Good foods for all electrolytes include salmon, avocado, spinach and full fat (of course!) natural yoghurt.

A note about weighing in

If you're a daily weigher, you have several different options. You can either just record your weight every Monday (or whatever regular day of the week you choose - I am going to start weighing in on a Saturday, because my trainer records my weight as well, to keep me on track!).

Or you can record the lowest weight you achieved in that week

Or you can average your weights and record the average.

Whatever you decide, I hope it's a positive result!

Flowers ouch Einstein, that sounds painful.

LexLoofah · 28/01/2016 12:21

Einstein you poor thing, that sounds painful and inconvenient. Great suggestions from Gcal as always. I would try to make or buy lc cauli cheese, great comfort food and eat with a spoon, no cutting required. Or could someone boil and mash celeriac for you and add loads of s&p, butter and cheese?

B - smoked salmon terrine, avocado
L - lc crackers, pate, celery, butter, cucumber, spoon of boursin, crackling stick
D - more Cornish pasties, forgot to say yesterday filling also included spoon of butter and clotted cream but nuts so bc lite, buttered greens

hefzi · 28/01/2016 12:36

Flowers Beyond and Einstein: hope you're both feeling better soon

AuntieMaggie · 28/01/2016 12:44

Sorry about your shoulder Einstein. Lots of good ideas here that I'm going to steal... the cauli cheese idea is a good one and you can mix it with lots of other stuff like bacon/ham. An easy cheese sauce that someone posted here is half pot double cream, half pot cream cheese and some grated cheddar. It's lush.

Other than that some supermarkets have rotisserie counters that do gammon joints as well as chicken and other meats.

Could ds cook if you stand with him instructing?

Be kind to yourself though Flowers

Bugger1ugs · 28/01/2016 12:54

Hello everyone, is it too late to join? I started on 3rd Jan and have been lurking ever since - about time I committed myself to the spreadsheet!

VagueIdeas · 28/01/2016 13:30

I was struck down with a gastro bug on Tuesday night. I NEVER get them. First one in about 25 years.

Tell you what though, they expedite weight loss, don't they? So although I still feel weak and crappy, I am pleased as punch to have finally hit my pre (first) pregnancy weight of late 2010. Every cloud...

Now, I'm not sure what to eat. Would usually opt for bland carbs like toast but I don't really want to go on a carb rampage. Or do low carb rules go out of the window when recovering from illness?

AuntieMaggie · 28/01/2016 13:33

Unexpectedly found myself in London today... great I'll go to wasabi I thought... I picked up the wrong box Angry so I ate the salmon and greens but not the rice! Good job I went to sainsburys and got some cheese and chicken though they didn't have any drumstick 2 packs just whole legs

mustbemad71 · 28/01/2016 13:55

Anyone fancy joining me on the 30 Day Shred? I've not done it before and plan to use levels 1 and 2 on You Tube. Thought I'd be more likely to stick to it with fellow shredders on here for support? Anyone fancy it?

NigellasGuest · 28/01/2016 14:51

mustbemad

Me me me! I will join you!

I have already started it, but have only done Level 1 three times since Monday so I won't be any "better" at it than you. When do you plan to start?

AuntieMaggie · 28/01/2016 15:33

Am following the body coach on fb... some of his meal ideas are low carb

mustbemad71 · 28/01/2016 15:47

Nigella yay! I will start tomorrow - plan to do it every morning before work. I also do ashtanga yoga ( badly) once a week and dog walks but that's it. I need to tone up! How are you feeling? Is it good? Not sure I'll be able to move on to level 2 in 10 days!

Auntie I have the BC book - some good low carb recipes and his leanin15 vids on IG are funny - just not sure I could cope with HIIT hoping that 30 Day Shred will be doable!

Wombatinabathhat · 28/01/2016 15:54

Welcome Bugger1ugs It's never too late join in. Add yourself to the bottom of the spreadsheet

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 28/01/2016 16:12

Me for the Shred! But I'm starting on Sunday - need to tidy house frantically tonight, going out tomorrow night and then DH is out Saturday (he's going to do it too). So Sunday beginning while DS is napping.

No weight loss since Mon - in fact, half a lb back on, and I have been really good, I promise! I think I'll try a cup of coffee once I'm home to, erm, speed things up a bit.

mustbemad71 · 28/01/2016 16:46

Excellent Cheddar.
**
If shredding we could add if we post our grub - not everyday - suggest add:

Shred: 1/29 (until stats read 30/0) Smile

No pressure to do it everyday or update everyday either but if I see you and Nigella do it I will feel more motivated and a bit if accountability!

Losing weight again this week and I'm so so happy.

It can be either down to drinking more water or the period winding down! But either way I'm incredibly happy.

Hope everyone else is doing well. xxx

NigellasGuest · 28/01/2016 16:57

mustbemadandTooExtra that's great! Yes I think it's really good.My calves have been aching but in a good way. You will definitely feel a difference, good luck!

DrDiva · 28/01/2016 17:03

Not a perfect day so far for food. As in no breakfast Sad (sorry BIWI) - a horrendous night struggling to breathe meant I got up late and has to run for work. And of course it was the one day DS aka The Alarm Cloxk also decided to sleep in (had a pre taste of the teen years!)

Lunch however was a fab smoked salmon salad at a local cafe with a friend.

Beyond and Einstein I hope you both feel loads better very soon.

fohamy12 · 28/01/2016 17:19

mustbemad (puts hand up and pleads, pick me Miss, pick me!) Ehm, can I join in on Shred too. Did it years ago and really got to hate Jillian but I'm willing to go through the torture again!

Gcalgske · 28/01/2016 17:27

einstein for lunch I roasted pork belly strips over low carb veg. I tried to do it one handed and I managed to do the pork bit fine. If you could get pre prepared low carb veg it would work. Cauliflower/ broccoli maybe?

mustbemad71 · 28/01/2016 17:29

Fohamy. Great the more the merrier!

I am ancient and rather unfit so you youngsters will have to forgive me if I stick with Level 1 for full 30 days! ----

Dinner tonight is cod loin with cauliflower cheese and broccoli. I'm starving tonight.

Patapouf · 28/01/2016 17:31

I might dig out my old shred did and layer up the sports bras and join you with shred. Apologies to my downstairs neighbour in advance Grin

BetsyM00 · 28/01/2016 17:53

Good luck with the shred but I think I'll stick to dog walking.

I just had the most lovely tea. Homemade beefburger and salad with a sauce made with double cream, soft cheese and a scoosh of tomato paste. I'm really starting to appreciate my food. Who'd want a bun with a burger again!

ami9 · 28/01/2016 18:15

Can i join in pls. I wont be doing the shred I will be doing tracy anderson's post preg dvd (old one) really want to work on my midsection. Xx

fohamy12 · 28/01/2016 18:25

mustbemad thanks and it must be 30 years since I was called a youngster, so thanks for that tooGrin

knowclue · 28/01/2016 18:35

Would love to join the shred team but am up at 5:15am, exercise that early isn't an option! But, am running X 3 a week (4K this pm) plus daily 7 mins fast fit thing ( not fun after a day's work!)
Sorry to read re your shoulder Einstein hope you're soon on the mend Flowers

Weight wise the lbs are finally going, think the reduction in dietary fat has helped, plus I added some intermittent fasting (still feeling post viral)

B: spinach, avocado, coconut water smoothie.
No time for lunch
D: smoked mackerel pate made with cream and little melted butter, with raw broccoli, celery and mushroom
S: coffee with cream X 1 only.
