Morning campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope it was a good week, and I hope that those of you who have been suffering from carb flu are starting to feel better. Remember, keep up the electrolytes - sodium, potassium and magnesium. Which means firstly that you have to make sure you're getting plenty of salt - so salt your food during cooking and add salt to cooked food.

For potassium, you could also consider Lo-Salt. Good foods for all electrolytes include salmon, avocado, spinach and full fat (of course!) natural yoghurt.

A note about weighing in

If you're a daily weigher, you have several different options. You can either just record your weight every Monday (or whatever regular day of the week you choose - I am going to start weighing in on a Saturday, because my trainer records my weight as well, to keep me on track!).

Or you can record the lowest weight you achieved in that week

Or you can average your weights and record the average.

Whatever you decide, I hope it's a positive result!

Sorry but just to clarify if you dont exercise you still lose weight? Its not a rule but an option? Thank You all for answering. Oh and im so loving the babybel can I have more than 1?

Gcalgske · 26/01/2016 22:27

mustbemad fat stores hormones, when you lose fat the oestrogen is released back into your system. It probably was stunt who is super with the science bit. It will normalise.

momofgirls · 26/01/2016 22:52

Managed three meals and no hunger in between. Husband keeps taunting me with christmas cake & other sweet foods but I'm not taking the bait.
B - avocado, celery and soft cheese.
L Parma ham, cucumber, lettuce celery, Mayo.
D steak and onion, garlic, broccoli stir fry with roasted courgette.
Coffee & cream x 3
Hoping to see a loss tomorrow as weight as been same since Saturday.
Week 2 is flying by.
Enjoying reading fellow boot camp dates.

mustbemad71 · 26/01/2016 23:00

Thanks Gcal

DiscoDancer · 26/01/2016 23:33

Me again with another dumb random question, how long do the egg muffins keep for in the fridge? Just thinking if i made six would I have to eat them in two days or something?!

NigellasGuest · 26/01/2016 23:58

Ami you don't need to exercise, I've lost over half a stone with no exercise. I've just started the Shred today because exercise is of course good for general health, plus i would'nt mind toning up a bit Wink

I don't know about more than one Babybel, interested to know though!

hefzi · 27/01/2016 00:22

Disco I keep mine for ages - a week sometimes Blush - but I will admit that I have very low standards when it comes to chucking food out: I ignore BBE and use by dates, and go on look, smell and taste. I've never actually made myself (or anyone else!) ill, but I might just have cast iron insides built up by years of cavalier behaviour around food hygiene!

Paleogirl · 27/01/2016 01:52

Gosh, threads are moving quick. Just marking place as I read far more than I post Smile

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 27/01/2016 03:53

Balls and arse! just broke a molar. Admittedly an over-filled molar but still - not only is this going to cost me a fortune but it's going to affect my ability to chew as well (MAIN chewing molar). Gahhh!

Breakfast = fail
Lunch = salmon pate on celery and cheddar, drunk a fair bit of water. Had a cherry (BIG mistake) and bit on the stone leading to above situation. Sad

HammerToFall · 27/01/2016 06:01

Quick question. Are sausages with 2.7 carbs ok with them being under 3 or too high?

Equiem89 · 27/01/2016 06:52

Could someone please add my weight of 10.4, 144lbs for this week please. Wasn't able to weight myself on Monday or Tuesday morning. Thanks Smile

BIWI · 27/01/2016 07:31

bippity 22lbs in a week is a great achievement! Grin

And yes, lamb breast is perfect in the slow cooker. I adapt a fantastic Simon Hopkinson recipe by putting the lamb on top of a bed of sliced shallots. Season well but don't add any liquid or fat. This recipe - but I replace the onions with shallots and only use about a third of the quantity

WhoTheFuck well done on not succumbing to the lure of Diet Coke! It used to be my 'go to' drink, but now sparkling water seems so much more thirst quenching.

Felicity next week you'll be able to have gin and wine! (In strict moderation, of course Grin)

ami you will still lose weight if you don't exercise! And yes, you can have more than one Babybel, just don't go mad and scarf a dozen or so!

mustbemad yes, oestrogen is apparently stored in your fat, so as you lose fat it can mean that your periods are messed up. As far as I know, it's only a temporary thing.

Disco I would have thought they'd keep for 3-4 days?

Thumb told you not to eat fruit! I'm really sorry to hear that - hope it's a quick and painless trip to the dentist.

Hammer yes, that's too high - I doubt very much if you'll only eat one sausage, which means you'll be getting too many carbs from a source other than veg/salad. There are plenty of sausages that you can buy that are less than 1g carb each - look out for The Black Farmer sausages, or supermarket premium ones. M&S also do good ones, I seem to remember.

Equiem - Done! 6lbs is brilliant!

Morning all, cold on the way out - yippee!

I am working from home today so am planning on some yummy food to keep me going.

I made my first ever batch of chicken stock on Sunday which I'm planning on turning into broccoli soup. It's gone like jelly - is that right? Do I need to add water or will it thin out when cooked. I'm usually pretty confident in the kitchen but this is scaring me a little!

Today's plan:
B: Eggs, bacon, mushrooms
L: Broccoli and stilton soup (hopefully)
D: Spag bol with either courgetti or cauli rice depending on what I have in the fridge

No exercise for me today. I usually run when I work from home, but don't think my chest is up to it today.

ChesterDrawers · 27/01/2016 07:44

Meant to ask if anyone saw that sugar free celebrity programme last night? I quite enjoyed it but was a bit cross they were still eating stuff like flour and potatoes, and are being told fruit will be ok after a week, even though it's still sugar.

briss · 27/01/2016 07:52

Hello everyone. Apologies if it's already been mentioned but is there a link to a 'what you can and can't eat' type thread. I am doing my own very loose version of low carb (basically no bread) and could do with some pointers. Thank you!

blackteaplease · 27/01/2016 07:59

chesterdrawers stock sets like jelly when cold, just heat it up again and it will be fine

sos1993 · 27/01/2016 08:36

Odd day yesterday - wasn't very hungry and snacked so when I wrote down what I ate there is hardly any veg.
B: scrambled eggs butter and bacon
L: parma ham, celery, boursin cheese
D: turkey slices, more celery,
S: 3 or maybe 4 coffees with cream

Must do better today
B: bacon, egg and butter
L: tuna, scallion, lettuce, mayo, cucumber, avocado
D: roast pork, cauliflower, broccoli, plenty butter on my veg.

BIWI · 27/01/2016 08:38

briss have a look at the spreadsheet, which is linked in my OP - on the tabs at the bottom you'll find information about veg carb counts, as well as Bootcamp rules. You might not be doing Bootcamp (why not? Grin) but that should help you out. But, to be clear, if all you're cutting out is bread, then you are in no way low carbing!

I have never, ever photographed my food before but this looked so good that I couldn't resist! It's chicken carbonara with courgetti. It tasted as good as it looks even if I say so myself and DH agreed.

Very excited today as booked a holiday for Easter. Going to Fuerterventura on 9th April, so I have just over 10 weeks to get bikini ready. Perfect timing from a boot camp point of view.

Today's food will be:
B - avocado, coffee with cream
L - mackerel, Hb eggs, green salad and hm dressing.
D - chilli and cauliflower rice
S - Costa coffee with their not so good pouring cream.

Week 2 - 2016 Low Carb Bootcamp - our first official weigh-in!
Mookbark · 27/01/2016 08:57

Oh, meant to say, exercise is good when losing weight as it helps preserve muscle mass. When we say we've lost 2lbs fat, for example, unfortunately that isn't true. Some will be fat but some will be muscle. The best exercise for this is heavy lifting but any type is beneficial. I enjoy running but not in the cold so that's what I do.

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 27/01/2016 09:05

Breakfast is costa americano (yay for shopping being here!) and a cream cheese pancake with brussels pate

mustbemad71 · 27/01/2016 09:28

Mook that looks delish!
