Morning all!

Here, for the last time this Bootcamp is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Hopefully the scales will be kind to you for our last weigh-in!

For those of you that are still here - even you lurking at the back! - it would be great to hear how much you've lost this Bootcamp.

And also, we'll keep this thread going for chat - when it fills up I'll start another general low carb chat thread.

I had forgotten how horrible carb flu is. Started bc'ing again on Tuesday and my head is BANGING. Anyone got a quick fix?

BIWI · 26/07/2015 22:39

Salt
Water
Fat
Paracetamol

Not necessarily in that order!

Are fruit tea, herbal tea, black tea or coffee allowed on bootcamp? If so are they allowed to make up your daily water intake or should they be in addition to the 2.5 litres of water?

BIWI · 26/07/2015 22:56

I'd say that in general they are all allowed, but with the proviso that you should check the back of the packs first!

All liquids count to your overall intake.

I lost another pound this week which I'm thrilled about as we spent the weekend at my grandparents who did not understand how I could get by without "sustenance" aka carbs, but they were very nice about it. Ended up eating loads as they piled my plate high with everything else to make up for it ! Seems to have worked out OK though.

Hope everyone else is OK and sticking with it if you were planning to.

readyforno2 · 27/07/2015 09:10

Thanks BIWI it's a bit better today but still lingering. This seems worse than it has been before..

lisbapalea · 27/07/2015 09:31

I forgot to weigh in this morning but think I may have a week off from weighing, as I had a last minute minibreak holiday with DD last week, staying with a friend's relatives so I had no option but to eat what was given to me (it was a free holiday so I think it would have been a bit rude to dictate food requirements).

I am fairly sure I would have seen a gain had I weighed today, but instead of dwelling on 'failure' I am now fully back onto bootcamp rules (ditching booze and everything!) and focusing on the rules properly until our holiday at the end of August - I have 4.5 weeks to hopefully get closer to 12st (I was just over 12 and a half last time I weighed so would be awesome if I could lose 2lb a week until holiday).

KOKO everyone and thanks so much to BIWI and everyone else on these threads for making it such a welcoming place to return to, even when I know I wobbled off the wagon last week....

WineCheeseSleep · 27/07/2015 09:54

Personally lisba I think you need to be able to have little detours as long as they're not very often. That way you know you can stick to it long term as it's compatible with real life! Good luck getting back on the horse.

StoneFoxMama · 27/07/2015 10:13

Ready it was worse for me when I returned to lc, i don't even remember having it the first time, it probably was a day or 2 of feeling bad. This time round it lasted a lot longer, i know it's shit but keep telling yourself it means you are doing it right and it will go and you'll feel amazing when you're on the other side.

Its also been one of the contributing factors to the fact that since I started i have not eaten a single naughty thing and haven't slipped once foodwise. It's not willpower, it's utter terror at feeling like that again and i really don't miss that ravenous hunger that comes with a drop in blood sugars, I'm very susceptible to this and have spent most of my adult life hungry, wetger I'd eaten recently or not. That and the fact i actually like looking in the mirror now or having my photo taken and no longer step on the scales with a pit of dread in my (much smaller) stomach.

I'm starting to sound evangelical, but I'll do it here as in real life there is little worse than a diet bore and most people wouldn't even know I'm low carbing and I know we are all in the same boat. This is the only woe that I don't feel deprived on and that is why I know I will be consistent with it. It's got me nearly where I want to be and I will stick with it for maintenance. I'm loving trying new recipes and have eaten some amazing food (fathead pizza I'm looking at you).

billabye · 27/07/2015 11:09

Hi all I've been back on the straight and narrow and have lost what I gained on my bad week. Hoping to shift a pound a week up to my holiday in 10 weeks. A stone would be awesome but maybe unrealistic as I'm a slow loser. Who cares though, as long as it's coming off!

readyforno2 · 27/07/2015 12:21

Thanks stone. That's actually a good way of looking at it. I'm the same, don't really remember being that bad previously but then I spectacularly fell off the wagon this time.

Almahart · 27/07/2015 13:21

Stonefoxmama I know what you mean. I've been thinking a lot about this recently as am maintaining at the moment and I do eat carbs every so often, but find that I immediately hungry and feel sort of out of control in my eating. Im not a binger, but i crave thibgs that I haven't missed it at all. It's not a good feeling.

I do find it do interesting that carbs make me feel hungry. I've started re-reading John Briffa as I couldn't really get it first time round.

backonthewagon · 27/07/2015 13:34

Has anyone done the 5 day egg fast on here?

StuntNun · 27/07/2015 13:39

A bunch of us did a three day egg fast last year. What do you want to know?

backonthewagon · 27/07/2015 13:43

I was thinking of trying it as I have a wedding on Saturday. What sort of weight loss did you experience on your 3 day fast and did you regain it when you went back to regular LCHF?

StoneFoxMama · 27/07/2015 13:56

Almahart it's so liberating not being in that grip of hunger which is really a craving anymore, it has changed my life. I actually feel like a real person who eats when they need to rather than a gluttonous monster who has no self control with regards to food and i know it's carbs that turn me into that, there's no middle ground with me.I never want to go back there!

readyforno2 · 27/07/2015 14:37

What is the 5 day egg fast? I'll join you back

backonthewagon · 27/07/2015 14:39

5 day egg fast

readyforno2 · 27/07/2015 14:47

I'm in. Will start tomorrow as have already eaten today. Did anyone have horrible side effects?

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 27/07/2015 15:15

Well, that's one week of BC nearly over - weighing in tomorrow morning to see how I've done. Hoping it's 4lb down, more would be great but 4 would be absolutely fine. :)

I've noticed today that my belly has started to change shape again - I carry my weight around my middle, in that lovely "apple" shape that is so potentially dangerous - and I no longer look 6m pg, so that's great! The flab is coming off the sides faster than the middle, oddly. Not complaining though!

I have noticed that I am becoming tireder sooner at night, which is a good thing as I'm usually up until faaaarrr too late; and today I've felt thirsty most of the day so have drunk far more water than usual, which can only help!

But today, for the first time on this round, I really felt a need for something savoury and crunchy - so tomorrow I'll be making parmesan crisps. Won't put any herbs in this time though, as I think they were giving me acid last time :(
And tonight I fancied some chocolate, but resisted. I did, however, succumb to the lure of a decent red wine. Blush

Sorry, just SMS again -hope everyone still doing this is going great guns!

thetroubleis · 27/07/2015 16:55

Having a good first day so far. Someone up thread had a spiraliser- are they any good?

cathyandclaire · 27/07/2015 17:45

It wasn't me but I have a spiraliser (a basic hand held one) and it is fab!
I only use it for courgetti but we use it loads -carbonara, garlic, chilli and olive oil, bolognese, pesto, gratin. Even DH and the DDs love it. Thoroughly recommend :)

CharlieSierra · 27/07/2015 20:20

Hello, When is the next boot camp please? Ive missed this one due to holidays and being ill, but back on the wagon and keen to join the next one.

thetroubleis · 27/07/2015 20:29

Oooh, Kathyand, I might get one then. It might even encourage the DCs to eat more veggies. TY x

BIWI · 27/07/2015 20:38

Thumb don't forget to keep your salt content up if you're drinking lots of water!
