The inbetween BC BC for those who didn't do as well as they should on the real BC

SayraT · 06/04/2015 18:41

Ok, some of us (me) didn't do very well on the real actual BC and some others just feel the need to have a little extra push before the next real BC so this is our inbetween BC BC Grin

I'll start, I'm currently 222 lb and want to be 217 lb by the start of the real BC (11th May). I will be recording my food daily to keep on track, I am also going to weigh daily.

Food

B: Flax wrap with butter, coffee with cream
L: M&S salad, ff yog
S: S&V peanuts (none left now so I'll have normal nuts or none at all)
D: Cauli-rice with hot smoked salmon

I do pepperoni in the microwave - 1-1.5 mins x

nappyaddict · 16/04/2015 22:10

Does it go crispy?

I found this interesting too for those just starting out on low carb or not sure whether to do BC/paleo/primal. http://www.youmeworks.com/whylowcarb.html www.youmeworks.com/whylowcarb.html

SayraT · 16/04/2015 22:34

No idea what temperature nappy or for how long. I tend to turn the knob on the oven on and stick things in until they are done Grin No one else to feed here so it doesn't matter what time dinner is served at!

OP posts:
Gcalgske · 16/04/2015 22:38

Yeah they go crisp.

Gcalgske · 16/04/2015 22:40

nappy I have ptsd and anxiety too. Phones suck sometimes I can barely answer to my hubby. I'm with you on that. Xx

beerbelly · 16/04/2015 23:15

BIWI. As I said, I had been unable to open the spreadsheet so I have been following other advice on the internet about lchf.

I am obviously in the wrong place as I would rather not be addressed rudely while I am still feeling my way around this.

Good luck, ladies!

BerylStreep · 16/04/2015 23:36

Hello all,

Only just found you again after my ski holiday. delighted to say that skiing was great (very fast companions), knees held up ok, and salopettes were fine (so long as I didn't bend over too suddenly). i did look at buying a new pair, but I think the lovely Ialian lady in the shop said, 'yes, of course you will need some bigger ones, for the baby.'Blush I possibly misheard.

Anyway, looking forward to bootcamp starting in May. Will attempt to minimise damage in the interim.

LaiLoo · 17/04/2015 00:13

Nappy interesting about people closer to the equator being able to eat more carbs. I grew up on the equator and bananas and pianapples were readily available in gardens. Mangos fell from trees each day so we ate them regularly and didn't gain weight. I eat most fruit now and it doesn't seem to affect my weight but bread, biscuits, cakes definitely stop me losing even if I don't eat much of them.

Gcalgske · 17/04/2015 00:16

It makes sense in evolutionary terms and LUCKY YOU lailoo Envy serious fruit envy.

LaiLoo · 17/04/2015 00:17

Nappy I shall have a read of that link you posted. I have saved it for later. I love pepperoni and all salamis fried in the pan. No oil needed, I just put them all in and wait till they are crispy. Havnt tried it in the microwave yet. When I was growing up our Sunday lunch consisted of olives, fried salami, kabanos, cheeses, pickled onions, red wine and salads. Very lovely :)

LaiLoo · 17/04/2015 00:59

Gcalgske :)

LexLoofah · 17/04/2015 02:21

Wow just caught up on today's pages, have been out and about and decorating all day

drama the last bootcamp was my first and I didnt have a whoosh, 3lb was the most I lost in a week and it only happened once but it was mainly 1lb or stayed the same but still lost 16lb since starting so not complaining just saying it seems to come off differently for people so don't be disheartened, just keep going, it is very early days

trash thanks, I like lady grey actually drink it without milk usually so will be interested in how it tastes with cream compared to regular tea

So after tiny dinner of yog last night I was not hungry at breakfast and as I had plans to meet friends for an early lunch I just had a cuppa to see if I could go the morning without getting hungry and yep by 11am was not very hungry at all which is unbelievable, in my previous carby lifestyle would have had brekkie, elevenses and possible tenses by then

L - dark meat chicken, salad, mayo, cuppa

Curiouser and curiouser, not hungry at dinner time but thought I had better have something as don't want a headache and assume I still need to keep the fat intake up so had some of the sesame crackers with butter and cheese

BIWI or other long term low carbers is this normal to just not be hungry? Especially at this early stage - it is a sensation I am not at all familiar with!

SayraT · 17/04/2015 07:11

Yes lex very normal Grin one of the benefits of lcing.

beer I posted the BC rules for you (and someone else) a few days ago maybe you didn't see them? The thread suddenly moved quite quickly the past few days!

I'm off a trip to the lake district today with some friends. We are going to see an exhibition about herdwick sheep Smile

beer

Where do you think you've been treated rudely? You've had a lot of help here already.

Perhaps it was because I took you to task for complaining about not losing weight whilst still not following the rules?

I'm sorry, but you can't complain about not losing whilst at the same time confessing to things that are against the rules - and you left it for a very long time before saying that you didn't actually know the rules!

PseudoBadger · 17/04/2015 07:54

beer I have done bootcamps since Jan 2014. Occasionally I am strict and see great results. Occasionally I'm not and the results? Not so great. I have to be in the right frame of mind, and when I am (like at the moment) and follow the rules to the letter it's amazing. 9lbs in two weeks? Rules are good!
Thank you BIWI Flowers

BIWI · 17/04/2015 07:58

... and Sayra very helpfully posted them for you, but you still continued to talk about eating chocolate and fruit and still complaining about not losing weight.

There's a reason that Bootcamp rules have been put together - it's not just a random set of declarations!

I'm sorry that you felt you were spoken to rudely - that wasn't my intention. My intention (along with all the posts that I and others here, who posted in response to you) was to help you.

But you don't seem to want to help yourself.

And yes, I'm exasperated. Sorry.

MrsKoala · 17/04/2015 08:18

Morning all. I have lost another 2lbs! Even on maintenance my body seems to be losing. That makes 20lbs since Jan. I'm my lightest in 6 years. I feel great. Thank thank thank thank you to BIWI and Sayra and everyone.

One negative of this woe tho is i have to clean my oven more regularly Shock All this cooking of fatty meat is taking it's toll. Grin

Have fun at the Lakes Sayra, i love it up there. Pre DC we used to go up regularly. Have lovely long walks and snuggle up with a coal fire and sleep for hours.

DarkEvilMoon · 17/04/2015 08:23

food targets
3 meals - check
lots of veg - veg only in 1 meal
lots of fat - could do better
3 ltrs of water - nearly
not a lot of coffee - not even close

After a cup of coffee got knocked out of my hands and all over me and the bed it was a bit down hill Blush
Managed to partially dislocate my shoulder again damn you hypermobile joints there was a pain induced not low carb midnight snack with ds last night. still dreaming of the point when he will sleep through the night Hopefully the physio can fit me in to fit it sooner rather than later.

Can't face food before we pop out so will try to grab something once the pain killers kick in.

DarkEvilMoon · 17/04/2015 08:24

Oooo I missed that. Have fun Sayra!

SayraT · 17/04/2015 08:26

Well we are just going down for the day Grin That seemed really strange you saying up to the Lakes but I'm sure its strange for you, and the majority of the UK to see me saying "down" Smile

I better get on, we are having coffee before we set off.

OP posts:
SayraT · 17/04/2015 08:27

Oh, poor you Dark well done though on still managing to have 3 meals, I think that is a big achievement for you so good! Hope you are not feeling too sore Flowers

Preminstreltension · 17/04/2015 08:42

Have woken up feeling shocking. Cracking headache, tummy definitely not happy. Feel a bit queasy. Had a pint of water and felt even sicker. Hoping it will ease off this morning after black tea. No breakfast for me yet but will try later.

babygiraffe86 · 17/04/2015 08:45

sayra we have to say over to the lakes, we go from the North East coast so its pretty much a straight journey west to get there Smile

dark sounds awful, hope things go well and your way with the physio, colleague has hypermobile joints and dislocates all the time - doesn't seem a nice experience at all.

2 weeks in now, and like Lex I'm waking up not hungry and hardly hungry by lunchtime, still had 2 spoonfuls of cottage cheese as breakfast and a cup of earl grey with 10ml milk.

Not sure on Lunch today, finishing work early and dp is too so we are going for a walk up the local big hill (roseberry topping) its rather exhausting so thinking pub after for a 4pm late lunch/early tea and the place we go does an amazing chicken in bacon and stilton cream with buttery veg - perfect for the LC diet Smile
