The inbetween BC BC for those who didn't do as well as they should on the real BC

SayraT · 06/04/2015 18:41

Ok, some of us (me) didn't do very well on the real actual BC and some others just feel the need to have a little extra push before the next real BC so this is our inbetween BC BC Grin

I'll start, I'm currently 222 lb and want to be 217 lb by the start of the real BC (11th May). I will be recording my food daily to keep on track, I am also going to weigh daily.

Food

B: Flax wrap with butter, coffee with cream
L: M&S salad, ff yog
S: S&V peanuts (none left now so I'll have normal nuts or none at all)
D: Cauli-rice with hot smoked salmon

happy

Spookily, I thought I was 5'4 1/2 since beginning of adulthood, until dp measured me 6 months ago and said I'm 5'3 1/2. So either I measured wrong or I have lost an inch!

An unrelated BC topic.

My DTS' have both been invited to 3 parties in the last 4 days. Which is good, as there is the horrible prospect of only one getting an invite ( which has happened once) but bad because the parties are all within one week of each other!

I have been buying 2 presents every time as I don't want them buying my twins one present between them, when it's their party.

Anyone know of any bargain toys or brilliant ideas before we go bankrupt! Hmm

Gcalgske · 16/04/2015 17:08

Sass Argos had some decent stuff in their two for £15Hmm

BabsUnited · 16/04/2015 17:19

Nappy and TheHappyCamper I am also 5'3 and a half. Doo doo doo dooooo!

Fatstacks · 16/04/2015 17:44

' I'm eating pulled pork and crackling.
For the third time today.
Because it's too nice Grin

Is there such a thing as 0 carb cocoa powder?

I'm that age now where I like a bed time snifter drink.

No added sugar cocoa is about 11g/100g
I make cocoa with 300mls almond milk (alpro unsweetened 0.1g/100ml) 1 heaped tsp cocoa (about 10g) and a dash of cream. The extracts from Lakeland are good in there too. You can get a cup of pretty decadent tasting cocoa for less than 2.5g carbs

Fatstacks · 16/04/2015 19:45

Thanks G.C I have all that and some sainsbo cocoa so I'll sleep well!

May have to smother DP though his snoring gets worse every day....
He demands an open window at night too I'm sure he will get an asbo if it gets any worse Angry

BabsUnited · 16/04/2015 19:47

Dh talking about a takeaway tonight, anything that's good for low carb? Just something with meat and veg? Are any curry sauces reasonable or should I go for dry meat? Tandoori? Helppppp!!

nappyaddict · 16/04/2015 19:49

Asda cocoa in the ree box is 0.3g per tsp or 8.7g per 100g.

TheHappyCamper have you got a target weight in mind?

TheHappyCamper · 16/04/2015 19:57

Gcalgske My cocoa is from LIDL I think and is 8.7g/100g. I use a flat tsp, tiny 1/4 tsp of sweetener, lots of cream, topped up with boiling water. Yum!

HemanOrSheRa · 16/04/2015 20:02

Babs I should imagine something like tandoori chicken or chicken tikka would be ok. Or tandoori mixed grill? Or shashlick?

BabsUnited · 16/04/2015 20:22

Thanks Heman, have ordered mixed grill and cauliflower bhaji Grin I always eat the salad in a bag it comes with too.

HemanOrSheRa · 16/04/2015 20:45

Ooh! Sounds lovely Babs. Enjoy! (I eat the salad too)

My food today -

B - 2 low carb sausages, 2 egg asparagus omelette cooked in butter. Black coffee.

L - bit of a mix up again - pate, ham, olives, celery, cue, 1/2 avocado doused with oil and mayo for dipping.

D - chicken cooked in a creamy mushroom and bacon sauce, steamed celeriac and steamed buttered kale.

S - pork scratchings and a piece of cheese.

3.5 l of water. So far. Still chugging away!

nappyaddict · 16/04/2015 20:46

Babs won't the bhaji have flour in?

SayraT · 16/04/2015 20:46

Food Today

B: Three fried eggs, coffee with cream
L: Leftover chicken in mushroom sauce, broccoli and asparagus
D: Salmon with pesto crust
S: FF yog with blueberries, 1 square MR 85% chocolate (3g carbs), some pork scratchings and Pao de Queijo (made by my Brazilian friend, it reminded me of Brazil)

E: 1 hour (hard) pole

Preminstreltension · 16/04/2015 20:58

B : ff Greek yogurt and tiny scattering of chopped walnuts
L: smoked salmon, watercress, avo and salmon salad with mayo
D: Butter chicken

Drank water - about 2.5l so need to up that, two cups black tea, one coffee with cream.

Oh and here's a cream mystery. Yeo Valley single cream is 2.2 carbs. Less than the double cream. How does that work?

sassandfaff · 16/04/2015 21:08

My food today.

B Greek yogurt with berries
L 3 boiled eggs
d Courgette spag bol
S- olives, choc, salami, pistachios

Snacks not as bad as they sound, as I was forced to share everything but the salami with 3yr old dd. Grr. Grin

BIWI · 16/04/2015 21:10

bhaji just means a vegetable side dish, nappy.

Spinach, mushroom and/or cauliflower bhaji are all good low carb options, and if you have it with dry meat, like chicken tandoori/tikka, it makes a good meal at an Indian.

Gcalgske · 16/04/2015 21:13

There's bhaji (gram flour fritter) and bhaji (the tomato based spiced stewed side dish). I think it was the latter they were referring too. I normally have saag paneer, tandoori chicken or prawn or mixed grill or butter chicken (ask about the recipe - some use sweetens coconut milk).

nappyaddict · 16/04/2015 21:17

How do I save the spreadsheet as a book mark?

Just been catching up on yesterday's posts so going back to paleo/primal a lot of people do primal but low carb because basically cavemen would have mostly eaten low carb. Things like berries and fruit would only have been eaten when in season and would have been a treat. I think bootcamp is basically a primal but low carb WOE.

SayraT · 16/04/2015 21:18

Oh, I also forgot I had pepperoni "crisps" on my way home from pole...still need to have dinner but can't be arsed getting up.

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 16/04/2015 21:19

Gcalgske How do you know which one is which on a menu if they are spelt the same? I have had cauliflower and onion bhaji from my takeaway and they were both fritters.

nappyaddict · 16/04/2015 21:20

SayraT what are pepperoni crisps?

Gcalgske · 16/04/2015 21:46

Ask them nappy! X

SayraT · 16/04/2015 21:46

nappy you know how pepperoni on a pizza goes all lovely and crispy? Well just stick some pepperoni slices in the oven and cook them until they are crispy then leave to cool Smile Yumminess!

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 16/04/2015 21:57

Yum. how long and what temp?

gcalgske I order on just eat as I have anxiety about using the phone. will have to get DP to ring up and ask next time we order one.

Dr Briffa reckons our ancestors ate a low carb diet with those nearer the equator eating a slightly higher carb diet due to more fruit and plants being available. http://www.drbriffa.com/2011/10/11/it-looks-like-our-ancient-ancestors-ate-a-low-carb-diet/. I wonder if that has led to people from closer to the equator tolerating slightly more carbs in their diet than people like us in the UK who are far away from the equator.
