Good morning! Already seen that there are some good losses, even for those in the dreaded week 3 Grin

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this point in Bootcamp. It's such a leap of faith for so many people when they first start low carbing, because it seems so strange to eat all the fat we're told to eat. But then when the scales show the result, I love it!

I got all excited when I found 'Premium' Mr Porky pork scratchings at my local Spar but they're the same recipe rebranded to look more posh so they still contain sugar (listed as dextrose) and MSG (listed as E621). Why is it so hard to get decent quality pork scratchings?

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 27/01/2015 06:44

Tyrells used to do some nice ones stunt, but they've dissapeared. Have you tried the awfully posh ones?

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 27/01/2015 06:44

Ps they awfully posh ones we too hairy for me (boak). Going to try making them!

costababe · 27/01/2015 06:45

Well done on all the loses and the sts!!
Food was a bit lacking yesterday, felt really crappy, had no breakfast sorry BIWI couldn't face anything
L around 3.30 was a salad with spinach rocket coriander tuna and a slip of mayo, only managed half
Dinner was a bit of chicken choruzo and red pepper and a large blob of cauliflower cheese.
Early to bed, early up feeling even worse this morning,
Will try to eat a little more, just thankful I did fall into the tea and toast which is my normal crutch when feeling shite!!

RandomHouseRules · 27/01/2015 06:57

Morning all. Had to get up to wee three times over night. So I think I did ok on the water yesterday!

Today's plan:
B: egg, spinach and mushroom muffin.
L: hm celeriac, swede and broccoli soup
D: salmon, probably with leeks, green beans and s little red pepper

Off we go...

BIWI · 27/01/2015 07:20

Morning all!

Really good night's sleep here (sorry all of you with fractious or otherwise children Grin) and didn't have to get up for a wee, despite drinking around 3 litres of water.

The caffeine thing is interesting - in Atkins first edition of "The New Diet Revolution" he said not to drink it, but by the next edition he said it was OK. And different low carb books/plans are all contradictory as to whether they recommend it or not.

So I think it's one of those things like dairy - it may be harder for some people to tolerate than others.

Equally, the idea that the menopause makes it harder to lose weight is also something that's debatable. Certainly when I first started doing this and lost 2 stones it was when I was peri/menopausal. Being totally honest, I know that if my rate of loss is slow, it's usually down to me not doing it properly rather than being menopausal Blush

Re omeprazole, I found a link to this forum

I couldn't find anything from medical sites, however. (Although I didn't search for very long - you might want to have a look yourself to see if there's anything more substantive)

But don't stop taking something you've been prescribed on the basis of some anecdotal data! Presumably your condition will worsen without it?

Morning all - i also had a good nights sleep and feel like a new woman - thanks kids!

MrSJs has lost two pounds. Which i dont understand -we were sort of low carbing before and i think he has lost 6 since xmas. He promises me that he hasnt had any cakes or banned food at work.

He does have 4 coffees a day - he point blank refused to give them up but has cut down from 8!! He has eggs with butter for breakfast, leftovers for lunch and a proper dinner. He is a bit slack with his water and i try and make him drink when he is at home.

He goes to the gym and is in training so he is burning off far more than me (to my shame we are similar weights and he is 6ft tall) and yet he has lost only 2 pounds. He isnt too bothered but i am a little confused. He promised me that there wasnt any haribo in the car.

ChesterDrawers · 27/01/2015 08:23

Morning all, good night's sleep here too, in fact had to wake DS this morning, which really doesn't happen very often. Amazing what a bit of kip can do for your mood.

B: eggs, butter
L: left over chicken, salad leaves, mayo
D: sausages, swede mash, some other kind of veg yet to be decided

Got kettlebells session later too.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 27/01/2015 08:44

Today I will mostly be eating food, when not drinking coffee or water. I am trying not to throttle ds who is doing kid looking it is straight in front of you and trying to get out of school Angry. Never mind the weight implications the sleep implications aren't great. Blush

bettybigballs · 27/01/2015 08:50

Weighed in this morning, 2lbs down with a total of 8lbs over the last three weeks. Starting to feel the difference in my clothes too which in happy about. Carefully prepared my lunch today and yet again have left it at home. So prob tuna mayo in lettuce for lunch.

Happy Tuesday!

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 27/01/2015 09:01

Needed to get up for 2 wees last night, one more than normal. However weighed in again and I've dropped 1lb, so 2lb loss in 5 days so far...

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 27/01/2015 09:02

Re the omeprazole...

I take daily omeprazole (has to be taken with nsaids) and am not losing very fast however i was also taking it last time and had no problems then. So umm...maybe that? Sorry, thats not really any help Grin

Fatstacks · 27/01/2015 10:02

Morning fellow bCampers Smile

Bitchy it sounds like you are having a life conspiring against you couple of weeks!
Deep breaths and zen like moods and then a small gin at the end of the day Grin

Sayra that was postastic! And yes, yes I have weighed myself at every possible time/outfit/location permeation.

5am-spare room-cat in a hat pj's and no slippers is where it's at Grin

MrsK your menu always sounds ace can I pop around for tea?

I take Esomeprazole (the one up from Omeprazole which I asked for after discovering Sharon Osbourne took it and it helped) I can lose weight the same as usual (slowly) but I have noticed that with no acid I can eat a wider variety of foods so my menu expands!

Just to be on the safe side I have ordered refillable dolce gusto pods so I can have decaff from Aldi instead of my normal machine coffee.
I rewarded myself when I gave up the fags 5 years ago with coffee machine and pods instead of eating.

It was only half successful but I don't smoke anymore Smile

B. Boiled eggs.
L. Ham salad.
D. Cauli cheese with Raclette I need to finish.
Have a good un!

lurkingmurking · 27/01/2015 10:02

Morning all!

I've just done a gym class called The Grid - it was HIDEOUS!

Food today is:

B: Courgette, mushroom, ham omlette with sprinkle of cheese, coffee w cream
L: Avocado, salami, mozarella, cherry toms, salad
D: Homemade moroccan lamb burgers with halloumi and salad

MrsKoala · 27/01/2015 10:04

The theme of the day in the Koala household is crying. DS2 has reverted to newborn night wakings and is waking every hour for 2oz of milk Confused . DS1 has an awful cold so coughed and cried most of the night. DH was on DS1 duty and i was with ds2 in the spare room. I feel sick with tiredness (this would usually be a tea and 2 packs of biscuit day) and neither dc want me to see to the other. DS1 is following me round wailing 'Puuuuuut baby down' while i frantically rock screaming ds2 :(

DS1 is supposed to be at Pre-school this avo but i can't tell if he's too sick to go. He's okay in himself (trying to climb on my head and jumping off the dining table ) but very snotty. If he goes i can try to get a nap (DH working till 12 tonight so no respite for me) but i don't want to send him if he's too unwell. Altho there were plenty of snotty kids last week - which is where ds picked this up i assume.

Had a couple of reheated sausages, leeks and mushrooms for breakfast. No idea what i'll manage for lunch. Got no eggs. can't contemplate a walk to the shops.

Mrsstevejones · 27/01/2015 10:28

ah Mrsk sending my deepest sympathies. I would be tempted to send DS1 to nursery if he is ok in himself and give you some time with baby. He will prob love the play time and it might help him sleep if he is knackered this evening- but maybe i am just a terrible mother!

When i was in this situation i found a sling for baby worked a treat. I get from my DD " DS wants to go on the floor mummy" and the jumping on my head.

Not that it helps now ... but this will pass.

Other terrible mother option - childrens tv? Its my fall back on days like this

lurkingmurking · 27/01/2015 10:31

Mrs K I'd send him but I am a mean mummy!

Until nursery time I would have Peppa Pig on loop

Mrsstevejones · 27/01/2015 10:38

oooh glad i am not the only one - makes me feel slightly less terrible

Thumbwitch · 27/01/2015 10:45

MrsK - if he's just snotty and no temp, then send him. You need the rest.

Tonight we had roast beef, and I made a leek and swede gratin which was LOVELY - even DS1 ate it (Ds2 didn't but then neither did DS1 the first time he tried it a couple of years ago!). Green beans and broccoli for veg.
Nowhere near enough water today though :(

MrsKoala · 27/01/2015 10:47

i'm already a terrible mother, the tv has been on pretty much constantly since ds2 was born 5months ago. In fact atm we have peppa pig in the dining room, thomas in the living room and the occasional song on you tube to sing and dance to. DS1 sees tv as a participation activity, so he wont just watch it, i have to join in and dance and do actions - 'PUT BABY DOWN MUMMY, DOOOO PEPPA PIG'.

DS2 has passed out in my arms doing sleep sobs, but i have to keep him upright otherwise he wakes screaming. i accidentally whacked ds1 on the nose while trying to manhandle him off my head with my free arm. q lots of crying from both of us.

DS2 doesn't go in slings and my back couldn't hold him. He is a monster and off the chart for size. This week he has gone over 20lbs Shock

Sorry for the self pity, i know all this has faff all to do with BC - apologies BIWI Blush

MushroomTree · 27/01/2015 10:51

4lbs lost.

Not as much as I thought it would be but then it's that time of the month so maybe it's skewing my results.

Hoping for a bigger drop next week!

Well done everyone!

Mrsstevejones · 27/01/2015 10:57

I thank the good lord for toy story 3, its my afternoon fall back, whilst DS is sleeping DD is glued to it and i get to do housework and cook dinner. I think she needs to rest ( since giving up naps ridiculously early) - thats my excuse anyway.
Tomorrow will be better? - hopefully

I struggle on days like this as i would usually fall into the biscuit tin or loaf of bread so well done - learning to live without the rush of sugary carbs is all part of this woe.

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 27/01/2015 11:07

B - BCL coconut porridge, coffee with cream

samboella · 27/01/2015 11:08

Hello everyone. I'm please to report a great loss this week of 7lb. But now I need some help.

Food and everything is going great (need to expand my repertoire somewhat but other than that its all good) but I have a HEN DO to attend on Saturday which is obviously going to involve drinking. As much as I'd like to, I don't think I'll get away with not drinking alcohol.

Any advice or suggestions on good choices? I was thinking spirits.

Any help much appreciated!!

BeyondDoesBootcamp · 27/01/2015 11:10

Btw, i'm still bleeding from my now four week long 'period'. Cant remember who it was that said it could be cause of hormone changes caused by LC, but how long does it last?? Not that it matters too much (sex is off the cards for a while anyway as dh has had an "intimate" piercing), but wondered if it could be while i'm not whooshing?
