Good morning! Already seen that there are some good losses, even for those in the dreaded week 3 Grin

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this point in Bootcamp. It's such a leap of faith for so many people when they first start low carbing, because it seems so strange to eat all the fat we're told to eat. But then when the scales show the result, I love it!

Hi BIWI and Sayra ...only just managed to get to gym this evening to weigh myself but when I came to add it to spreadsheet found I couldn't. Is it only possible to do on the Monday? Would it be possible for you to add my loss over the nine days of 8lbs?? Really pleased of course but bracing myself for less rapid results over the rest of BC. Got my tax return to do over the next three days..
Thanks in advance for filling out those details..and for setting all of this up...!!

yongnian · 28/01/2015 21:29

Heres me:
B: ff total dbl cream and peanut butter
L: tuna mayo avacado mixed with last night's fajita-style sauce
S:pork scratchings
D: sausages spinach oily dressing and mayo
W: 2.5 ltr

Bugger of a day again but still haven't cracked. Proud of strength in face of adversity.

SayraT · 28/01/2015 21:31

Hi girl for some reason certain people seem to have problems updating the spreadsheet. If you alert me or someone by asking on the thread someone should be able to do it for you. Are you trying to access it using an ipad by any chance?

8lb loss is fabulous, well done....and you didn't want to do this.....Grin

Oh dear, you better get on with the tax return!

Romeyroo · 28/01/2015 21:35

Not been able to catch up on thread yet, I have a migraine. Tried salt, lots of water, not sure what has triggered itSad

Sticking to BC though, wondering if I have enough fat, will be a bit more mindful of that tomorrow

imustbepatient · 28/01/2015 22:19

Just a quick post to log today's food

B: 3 x bacon rashers and 2 x fried eggs with dollop of mayo
L: left over belly pork and mashed swede, coffee with cream
D: more belly pork (well, it needs using up...) with a large pile of broccoli, baby corn and spring greens stir fried in coconut oil.

I'm halfway through the 'Escape the Diet Trap" book. Fascinating reading.

RandomHouseRules · 28/01/2015 22:28

Evening all. Have had a read through quickly and noted the scone recipe (for BCL of course!) - will definitely try that.

Today:
B: egg, spinach, mushroom muffins
L: avocado and bacon salad with olive oil
D: warm salad of courgette, green bean, leek, crayfish tails and feta, with olive oil and a dollop of Mayo. Really yummy.
2l water

Now, I have to be honest, DH and I are going on a long planned weekend away from tomorrow to celebrate our 10th anniversary. There will be meals out at special restaurants and while I fully intend to be as good as I can (I have told one of the restaurants I am on a restricted diet, as they have a tasting menu, and they have been fab about it), there will be wine and - gasp - maybe a pudding. I realise there'll be consequences on the scales. I won't be on the thread until I get back, so good luck all in the meantime and see you next week. Back on full BC from Monday.

readyforno2 · 28/01/2015 22:35

Wow. This thread moves so fast. Kinda missed a day (thread wise not bc wise, I was really good yesterday!) I was feeling awful, choked with the cold.
Finally managed to get a weigh in. STS could someone pop it on the spreadsheet for me. iPhone problems... Really need to cut back on the dairy I think. Dh goes away again on Friday, it's always easier when he's not about. He's away for 30 days so wanna lose a good chunk in that time.

Food today
No breakfast. Ran out of time before leaving for work
L - broc, cauliflower and gammon soup. Natural yog
D - tuna mayo with peppers and salad.
Was at the trainer early tonight so didn't eat beforehand. By the time I got home I wasn't that hungry.

Water has been pretty good. Def hitting the 3l target.

costababe · 28/01/2015 22:38

Hi all look like a good positive all round then!!
Half way through week 2 and doing ok, my appetite has really cut down, I spent most of the afternoon looking forward to my prawns and spinach, when I dished up I still wasn't that hungry so had a smaller plate than normal much to Mr Costa delight! Even then I left a bit.

Still several glasses of water later, I'm tucked up in bed layered right up for the third night in a row trying to sweat this head cold away!
Off to Antwerp in the morning early start, hoping for Bacon and eggs at the airport!
Will weigh in first thing tomorrow and then Sunday morning when I'm back and will post my pluses or STS fingers crossed!! Bring in the element of shame to help keep me on the straight and narrow!!
Night all.

ijustwanttobeme · 28/01/2015 23:07

Checking in time:

Think I did breakfast up thread? But anyway, it was:

Slices of turkey, cheese, guacamole and a coffee with cream
L: Thai soup with mange tout and peppers
D: pork chop with broccoli, courgettes and spinach

Water intake not so good today. Probably only 1.5 litres.

Despite what's been said about mfp, I'm still going to use it, if only to see what I've had over the course of a day, week, month etc.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 29/01/2015 02:26

I think i have finally found my frozen food replacement. And before Biwi has a heart attach the replacement is in the form of a handfull of some frozen prawns eaten frozen with a shake of salt on them. So much better than my previous and much loved go to picky frozen stuff.

Seems the 3 cups was a bad idea, also the 'fucking strong coffee' might not appear strong when drinking it but actually has a very long lasting affect. I might have to rethink my planned coffee plan Hmm

Thumbwitch · 29/01/2015 03:11

Went to bed early last night (by accident) so didn't get a chance to thank everyone for the back pats Thanks! It really does help having this support here - I'll pass them forward to wire and Apophenia as well, and anyone else who has been craving but has resisted! As I'm half a day ahead of most of you, I can assume that it's a bit of a "day 10" thing, is it?

Not nearly so bad today. :)

Dinner last night was 3 cheese sauce and cauliflower, with pasta (for the boys), courgette ribbons and mushrooms fried in butter (for me). Lovely!

Today:
B = slice of cheese
L = prawns in mayo with garlic salt and lemon juice, mixed with shredded iceberg lettuce

Dinner is likely to be roast turkey legs, and I'll have the leftover leek and swede gratin with it, while the boys can all have roast spuds. Beans and cauliflower for veg (carrots as well for the boys, I may have a couple of batons)

And today I am going to, at some point, have the raspberries that have been in the fridge too long with double cream and/or yoghurt. Meant to have them for breakfast but things got away from me (thanks DS2!) and by the time I got home again it was lunchtime.

costababe · 29/01/2015 05:00

Morning all,
Weighed in as discussed another lb down so 4 in total.
Very pleased, mr costa is down another 3 so 9lbs for him in total.
We will confess our Antwerpian sins, which I hope will not be many, we have discussed that we will make good chooses to minimise the damage, and re weigh just to keep track mainly for our selves.
A dear friend of mine is LC with us at the moment, she doesn't always get the right idea though and sent me a message last night, stating she was a bit stuck at lunch time when she went out with mates so shared a Camembert cheese dish, had some bread with it, but made up for it by having extra butter!! Bless her she's 72! Full of life and doesn't want to be left out of anything!
Wishing you all a positive few days, glasses of lovely water and yummy LC foods.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 29/01/2015 07:00

Morning! Weighed in today, so my official loss for the first week is 2lb. I'm pleased with this, I suppose I had hoped for a little bit more, maybe 3, but 2lb is a lot of fat and considering I've guzzled cream and cheese and butter all week it seems extraordinary in a way. It certainly goes against every instinct I have for losing weight which is about feeling slightly hungry at all times and avoiding anything like that.
I'm going to keep on, how long is it recommended to stay on bootcamp?

StuntNun · 29/01/2015 07:18

Ehric you can stay on Bootcamp do as long as you like. Different levels of carbs suit different people so it's worth experimenting with Bootcamp / Bootcamp Light / Ubercamp / dairy / no dairy to see what works best for you. I started straight on to Bootcamp Light because I was breastfeeding but I still had good losses right from the start so it's probably worth progressing onto Bootcamp Light in week three to see how you go.

Remember that weight loss is strictly rate limited, after you've lost that initial water and glycogen weight you should be losing an average of 1-2 lb per week. It may be erratic in that some weeks you won't lose, some your weight may even go up, especially when it's your time of the month, and other weeks there may be a sudden drop in weight we call a whoosh. But overall 1-2 lb weight loss per week is what we would expect to see.

Thumbwitch · 29/01/2015 07:30

I've just seen that Pimms is 4.8g carb per 100ml. Is that too high? I'm feeling the need, but will have it with just sparkling mineral water (zero carbs)...

lurkingmurking · 29/01/2015 07:40

I've decided I'm going to stay on BC until I've lost a stone, I'm finding it pretty easy going and am actually really enjoying the planning and cooking from scratch.

Fake fajitas last night were delish!

Today's plan:
B: scrambled egg, bacon and mushrooms. Coffee w cream
L: salmon Niçoise salad (no potatoes)
D: beef stew

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 29/01/2015 08:01

Morning everyone!

Have a lovely time in Antwerp Costa.

Thumb, you've made me want pimms! I suppose if you had just 30ml or so it wouldn't be so bad- 1.4g of carbs. It would set off carb cravings for me though...

I had a mini whoosh yesterday - down 2lb all at once after not budging for a couple of weeks (I'm on week 4). I slacked off a bit in response and had a few raspberries with coconut cream. Back on the straight and narrow today!

Can I prevail on the collective knowledge of bootcamp?

DH and I are off to Manchester for a night next week, no DC! I used to know Manchester very well having lived there for five years but I left in 2001 and it's changed a lot since! Does anyone know anywhere that would be good for low carbers? We're going to go to the cinema in the evening because I'm really not up for trashing the diet at the moment but we still need to eat beforehand! Haven't been to the cinema in 4 years so I'm really looking forward to it Grin

Apophenia · 29/01/2015 08:04

Sarah Google Bem Brazil, they've two locations in Manchester. It's a low carbers dream! Smile

Thumbwitch · 29/01/2015 08:04

Might have had a bit more than 30ml, maybe 40...
But it's not that sweet if it's just with sparkling mineral water, so it's not doing anything just yet, hopefully it won't!

DS2 has just gone to sleep on the living room floor, just prior to dinner - it's going to be a loooonng evening

ChesterDrawers · 29/01/2015 08:07

Morning everyone,

Feeling a bit odd today, nauseous and gurgly of stomach is the best way to describe it. I had a BPC on the way to work but now the thought of scrambled eggs is making me feel queasy. Sipping on my water and hoping it passes.

Today's plan is:
B: eggs, butter - if I can face it
L: parma ham, avocado, salad, pesto mayo
D: Trout - no idea what to do with it - courgetti, leeks and mushrooms in garlic and butter

Also, I've got two friends over for lunch on Sunday and was all set to do a nice low carb meal with LC choc mousse for pud. One has just told me she is dairy free at the minute, so WTF can I make for dessert that we can all eat? Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

Mrsstevejones · 29/01/2015 08:29

Hi chester, i love BPC but i sometimes find it gives me a gurgly tummy and makes me feel a bit sick too. It can then result in a dash to the loo, i think the coconut oil can have a laxative effect - sorry tmi. I had my gall bladder removed so i dont know if this has an effect.

I dont eat eggs so i am pushing through it - i didnt have the same prob last BC but the i used the MCT oil as opposed to coconut oil - coconut flavoured coffee is taking a time to get used to!

Hope you feel better soon

PseudoBadger · 29/01/2015 08:31

Given it's almost week 3 then you could make Crabby's almond crumble? Except for the butter in the crumble so maybe not.
Get some beautiful berries and make a couli with some of them using vanilla essence?

PseudoBadger · 29/01/2015 08:31

And then serve fresh berries with coulis

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 29/01/2015 08:36

Apophenia that place looks spot on, thanks!

Chester BPC. Can do that to me too. Regarding the crumble you could perhaps use Pure margarine - it's dairy free, albeit gopping. (And make chocolate mousse for everyone else, sounds much nicer!)

BIWI · 29/01/2015 08:47

... or don't do dessert at all if it's just lunch? Cheese board for you, fruit plate for her?
