Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

or on the Weight Tracker

Just one more week - hopefully we can shed at least one more of those pesky pounds!

I've been ok today. Didn't eat much for lunch as I had a banging headache and fell asleep on the sofa for an hour or so.

B - iceberg, couple of mini peppers and a small chicken thigh fried in butter with mayo, tablespoon of coleslaw
L - mushrooms fried in butter
D - broccoli, cauliflower, bacon and Stilton soup with a splash of cream

4 pints of water but planning another couple after

Wombat22 · 01/12/2014 18:30

Hello all.
I'll be hanging around after BC ends trying to keep on but a bit more relaxed over Christmas. I've not done very well this time (my own fault) but al least I haven't gained. Grin I'm determined to do well on the Jan BC if BIWI isn't fed up of us all.

Wombat22 · 01/12/2014 18:31

StuntNun · 01/12/2014 19:32

My scales have broken, or possibly the batteries have just run out. It's probably a good thing as I haven't been eating that well lately. I keep meaning to get back on track but then I get woozy and mainline carbs. I'm sure it should be possible to eat low carb during pregnancy but I can't quite get a handle on it. Still at least I know Bootcamp works and I'll be able to lose the baby weight afterwards.

BIWI · 01/12/2014 19:34

Never, Wombat! Xmas Grin

Once we've done our final weigh-in next Monday, I'll set up a general, ongoing chat thread. Probably one dedicated to Christmas, and how to cope with it!

I can not believe it is week 10. When did it happen?

prettybird · 01/12/2014 20:59

aNote - those chocolate pots last a good few nights, so either get your other half to eat them or have one tomorrow night and the other on Thursday night - so at least spreading the extravagance Grin - and make sure to eat it mindfully when you have it! Wink

I have three and a half chocolate pots in the fridge, left over from Saturday, one of which has my name on it

prettybird · 01/12/2014 21:08

Forgot to weigh in (although can't post in the spreadsheet of fabulousness as on my iPhone) - but one pound down Smile

Today was difficult though - was at a funeral (dad of a close friend) and the spread at the wake was really carbtastic. Had a few cocktail sausages, the filling out of a quiche, the cheese out of a cheese and chutney sandwich, the bottom half of a tuna mayonnaise and cucumber sandwich (had to have half the bread) and then finally succumbed to a small piece of carrot cake and then a few glasses of wine (at our friend's place afterwards).

Now trying to load up with water.

imustbepatient · 01/12/2014 22:08

Ahem. Hello. I have been lurking (like a saddo) on these threads since about week 3 or 4 of boot camp.

I have been eating BC light since about then, but mainly struggling to give up the wine! Amazingly I haven't missed bread / pasta / potatoes or sugar at all. Which astounds me considering what a carb queen I had turned into since getting pregnant with DD1.

My plan was to read up on everything from the links in the spreadsheet and follow all of your wonderful inspiration and helpful tips on these threads, ready to join you properly in the New Year.

But as of last Monday I have now managed to find the will power to stop drinking completely for the time being (four weeks before Christmas, can you tell timing isn't my strong point?!). And as the final shove I needed, I had to be videoed as part of a public speaking course today, and then watch it back with the rest of the course attendees. Well, to say I was horrified at how big I looked would be an understatement almost the size of my stomach.

I had the Monica from Friends "the camera adds ten pounds" "how many cameras are actually on you?" moment.

So that's it. I have lost about 7 pounds since finding this WOE and your brilliant BC threads but I am going to go all in now, to lose the three four stones I need to lose.

Apologies for crashing the party so late in the day! I just need to nail my colours to the Low Carb mast and do this properly. I am so sick of being overweight. I seem to lose weight at a glacial pace, whereas if you need someone to gain half a stone as fast as blinking then I am your woman!

BIWI · 01/12/2014 22:16
Grin

Well done for what you've lost so far though!

Just popping on very quickly to say having a fab time here in Brazil...not doing well on the LC front. If I didn't eat carbs I wouldn't eat at all!!!

Not looking forward to the weigh in when I return but who cares, this is a genuine once in a lifetime situation.

My clothes all still fit so that is a good sign since some of them didn't fit last year.

prettybird · 01/12/2014 22:35

Just worked out how to attach photos on the iPod - chocolate pots for Boot Camp Lite only.

NB: a small portion is plenty!

also, don't drink 2 bottles of port amongst three while enjoying the treat Blush

Week 10 - Pre-Christmas Low Carb Bootcamp - the penultimate weigh-in!
imustbepatient · 01/12/2014 22:44

Thanks BIWI! Grin I have the video of my presentation on a USB stick. Hopefully I can look back on it in Spring in the happy knowledge of being a couple of stone down by then and merrily skipping back towards my pre-children weight. I absolutely must lose the baby weight from DD1 before said baby starts school in September!

Well done Sayra on still fitting into your clothes, that's such a good sign.

MoJangled · 01/12/2014 22:49

imust you've still lost more than me and I've been strict all the way - so if you come on over to the full BC there'll be no stopping you. Welcome! Lots of us have had to inch our way into this and I think you have an easier time adjusting to giving up carbs if you ease in.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 01/12/2014 23:08

I have been good and found a way to increase my fats. Went on a munchies mission and can back with a tin of mackerel. Mackerel might just well be my healthy snack saviour. Good oils ahoy.

BestIsWest · 02/12/2014 06:13

Marking place. Not weighing until next week.

Tanukisan · 02/12/2014 07:37

Bitchy, can I recommend mackerel pate? So quick to make and delicious. Can be made with other tinned fish too. Basically just blend up fish, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil and salt and pepper. Yum!

ChesterDrawers · 02/12/2014 08:04

Feeling a bit down today as I had a bit of a binge yesterday, something I've not done since starting BC. Granted it was only on two packets of crispy bacon strips but once I started I couldn't stop Sad. I know it's a far cry from the days of family bags of crisps and giant bars of chocolate I used to stuff down with alarming regularity but I hate that out of control feeling and am very tearful about it today.

Today is a new day, though so here goes:

B: scrambled eggs, butter
L: Prawns, avocado, salad leaves, very garlicky mayo
D: Doner kebab, salad, mayo as above.

Is mackerel very fishy? And does it have bones like sardines? I don't think I've ever had it before but like the idea of upping my fat.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 02/12/2014 08:46

Chester Imo mackerel is more fishy then some and in theory the bones are removed but i encountered some last night. I think the oilier fish tend to be a bit more fishy than the less oily fish iyswim.

I have a recipe for sour cream sauce to go with mackerel but i have a suspicion there is sugar in it.

Pate sounds nice Tanukisan Good recommendation.

prettybird · 02/12/2014 08:50

I used to have a good recipe for mackerel pâté which involved mackerel mashed together with cream cheese, melted butter and some cream. May look it out or try to recreate it as it would be a good Boot Camp dish.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/12/2014 09:12

Huge hugs Chester, today is a new day x

ChesterDrawers · 02/12/2014 10:00

Thanks Pistey, much needed and appreciated.

I'm not keen on overly fishy fish and bones freak me out so I best stick with tuna and salmon I think.

TwoflowersLuggage · 02/12/2014 10:52

Morning!
I've just put my weight on the spreadsheet and am pleased to report a 2.5lb loss this week.
After my upping and downing of the last couple of weeks I'm really pleased - and the best bit...
My stones now start with an 11 (albeit I'm only just in the 11s!).
Happy last week all.

miffy49 · 02/12/2014 14:07

I can't even stand the smell of mackerel! The bones are vile. I can cope with the crispy bones in sardines or pilchards but I hate those little feathery things like you get in mackerel and kippers. Might try the pate with some tuna for a change. I found some nice pate in Asda that isn't bad on carb and is also gluten free. I hadn't had pate in ages as most other places add some form of gluten.

Well, I'm a pound less than last week after a week of Uber. Still up on when I started though. The week of being really strict with no dairy and no form of sweetener at all has been really hard. All I can say is that its dropped my fasting BG. I just keep hoping that if I can stick it without the dairy it might finally kick start a drop in weight. I'm not going back to eating the way I used to because of the massive health benefits I've gained but I have to admit to feeling really peevish when I read what other people can eat and actually lose several pounds on a consistent basis.

Sorry! Just feel like stamping my feet and shouting that its not fair! Smile

prettybird · 02/12/2014 16:39

Sounds silly - but are you sleeping enough? I've found that I can break stalls by just making sure I get 8 hours sleep.

T'other thing is making sure to get 1/2 hour exercise in daylight - even if it's just walking to the corner shop to get milk/paper/post a letter.
