Thanks best, its just so snotty and dragging on and on. Try and get rid of the lurgy as fast as possible. Shame about the BPC but coffee and creams still decent enough on the fat scale I think Smile

BIWI · 19/11/2014 20:33

If it's gone to your sinuses it might be worth going to the GP, pisses - don't let it get infected

Cooked with coconut oil for first time. Was delicious. In a Thai way

polealltheway · 19/11/2014 22:35

Hi all sorry I havn't been online for a few days.

Thanks you to biwi and bitchy for the advice, I have read the rules and I have actually managed to stick to it from Saturday which I am surprised and happy about. So planning to continue Grin

What does BPC mean? I am very new to the thread.

Also what is the best / lowest carb yogurt I can have? Also what can you have with it in the first 2 weeks?

MoJangled · 19/11/2014 23:37

well done on the fat boost Best

Amazing photo ready - have a lovely time in Sharm!

Pole BCP = Bullet Proof Coffee: coffee whipped up with butter and coconut oil, sometimes with cream too, as a fat boost. Not for the faint-hearted, so I take it a notch down with Bullet Resistant Coffee - butter and cream but no coconut oil. Total greek yogurt is generally seen as a good low carb bet - you can add double cream and sprinkle cinnamon on it to make a lovely dessert. Well done for getting firmly onto the wagon!

I'm in the middle of a 2-day trip for work, trying to keep my fat boost week on track. Going well I think so far, had a coffee with cream and butter and a spoonful of butter before leaving, armed with a Tupperware pot of butter slices and another of coconut oil. ignored the breakfast at my breakfast meeting, had a burger without the bun at lunch, a pepperami, slab of butter and babybel mid-afternoon, and ate round the carbs at my dinner meeting, so goats cheese salad, and chicken and veg. Declined pudding and petits fours and the wine. Probably not enough fat though. Same sort of day tomorrow.

If this doesn't work I'll try ubercamp - off to look that up.

prettybird · 19/11/2014 23:46

Pole :not sure which is the lowest carb but people seem to swear by both the Lidl Full Fat Greek Yoghurt or the original Total Greek yoghurt. And yes, it's fine in the first two week, although longer term, some people find dairy butter doesn't count stalls them. Personally, I'm ok with the yoghurt (which I have for breakfast 2-4 times a week), which I enjoy with a splash of extra cream and some cinnamon (and after the first 2 weeks, maybe some raspberries or blueberries).

BPC is Bulletproof Coffee - coffee with butter and coconut oil whisked into it, which is supposed to be good for energy. I've never tried it, but I do like a teaspoon of non-coconut-flavoured coconut oil in my herb tea.

Pisseslikeahorse · 20/11/2014 08:30

Thanks BIWI got the doctors booked this morning. Went to bed early with a Co-codamol, good sleep but got up with a nose bleed.. urgh!
But even if i do have a headache I feel allot better today and I'm going to fight back and get chugging along properly.

So today

B. BPC 1 egg 1 bacon
Doctors / Run
L. mushroom omelette
D. Veg curry, sag paneer (rice and popadoms for family)

polealltheway · 20/11/2014 08:36

Thank you for explaining BPC unfortunately I don't drink coffee Hmm sometimes I really wished I did.
Yogurt with cream sounds nice but I don't like cinamin, I think I saw a post where someone mentioned using vanilla essence in yogurt is that allowed? Or are there any other suggestions?

ChesterDrawers · 20/11/2014 08:53

I use a vanilla grinder Pole so it's just pure vanilla - a bit expensive but I think it will last forever. Although I think I only paid a fiver in Tesco for this one.

Still not back in ketosis after my five-day foray into Carbland, but got tough kettlebell session later so hoping that will finish off any glycogen hanging around.

Today's plan:

B: BPC, eggs, butter
L: prawns, avocado, olive oil, salad
D: spag bol, courgetti spaghetti, little bit of cheese

SayraT · 20/11/2014 09:10

Hope the doctor can help you pisses and you get better soon.

pole if you drink tea you can add coconut oil to that, I've never tried it but others like it. I asked on the last thread but it probably got lost, do you do pole? It's fab isn't it? Grin

I'm going to look out for a vanilla grinder Chester looks good. Can add to my collection of grinders, I've got garlic, chilli, lime Smile

Not posted food for a while so yesterday was:

B: flat mushrooms stuffed with garlic cheese
L: two boiled eggs, two frankfurters
D: celaric dolphin poise, roast chicken thighs

Today

B: BPC
L: ?
D: roast chicken thighs

BeyondTheLimits · 20/11/2014 09:25

My first bpc...

Week 8 - Pre-Christmas Low Carb Bootcamp - it's the final countdown!
CharlieSierra · 20/11/2014 09:40

Hope I'm not speaking too soon, but after a couple of days of no dairy (ubercamping yesterday actually), the scales are on the way down again. Yes!!

Mo well done, work trips are always tricky.

Chester, if you're trying to get back into ketosis could you make your mince into a burger instead of bolognaise and avoid the tomatoes and cheese?

miffy49 · 20/11/2014 12:13

I think Waitrose do a sugar free vanilla extract and theres none listed on the Sainsburys Taste the Difference one. I buy vanilla powder on-line from the Vanilla Mart. It lasts ages and is simply ground up vanilla beans. I keep some in a pepper pot for sprinkling over yoghurt and keep the rest of the packet sealed so it keeps its flavour. Haven't seen any grinders except for the ones with sugar crystals in as well. Don't have a local Tesco.

StuntNun · 20/11/2014 13:58

How's the foot Pisses?

ChesterDrawers · 20/11/2014 14:03

That would have been a great idea Charlie but it's already in the slow cooker ready for tonight. There's only 1 tin of toms in 750g of mince though so not too bad I don't think. I'll only have a little bit of cheese too.

Pisseslikeahorse · 20/11/2014 14:38

Foots ok, bit sore from the run but generally feeling better.
On the other hand the run was rubbish, had to keep on stopping to empty my nose, thank goodness I wore gloves. Smile

Just want to be the other side of the ill and getting better. Starting to get christmas crazy as well, already planning the day, hopefully its just me DW and my boys - first time ever, I've had5years of in-laws.

CharlieSierra · 20/11/2014 16:29

Chester how organised! My dinner is still in Waitrose at the moment. Smile

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 20/11/2014 22:40

alternative pizza base stumbled across these whilst looking for something else. I think that it will solve the pizza issue for the party. Will have to test the recipe this weekend. Looks promising though.

SayraT · 20/11/2014 22:43

That looks good bitchy I can't imagine what it is like though Hmm

pootlebug · 20/11/2014 23:00

Those of you who like the idea of bullet-proof coffee but hate coffee - my pre-running cuppa is bullet-proof tea, or whatever you want to call it.

  • Brew big mug of tea. I use a pint mug, 3/4 full
  • Put in about 2-3 dessert-spoons of coconut milk (I use Savoy Coconut Cream or Aroy-D coconut milk from my local chinese supermarket - both free of thickeners and crap)
  • Add 1 tablespoon (or whatever suits you) of coconut-based MCT oil

Either shove the whole thing in a blender, or whist enthusiastically with a balloon whisk between your hands in your oversize cup. It should froth, and have no sign of oily droplets.

pootlebug · 20/11/2014 23:01

Also works well with Rooibos tea, if you have an unaccountable aversion to caffeine.

BIWI · 20/11/2014 23:20

Right you lot - this is me signing off! Will be back in just under a week, and probably will be checking in during my hols, as I have my iPad with me.

Behave!

ChesterDrawers · 21/11/2014 07:51

Have a lovely time BIWI

Day 4 back on it and STILL not back in ketosis. Can't believe it's taking this long. Big lesson learned for me. Still not ventured onto the scales but must at some point.

Today:

B: eggs, butter, BPC
L: left over spag Bol
D: Turkey burgers, guacamole, swede chips, salad
