Welcome everyone! I'm starting the thread early because I have to be up and out of the house at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your starting weight

If you don't want to put your weight on the public spreadsheet, you can enter it on the weight tracker. (This probably won't be available until tomorrow morning)

If you've joined up very recently, and your name isn't on the spreadsheet, just add it on at the bottom - the very lovely SayraT will re-alphabetize everything later.

Kukesi - not easily unfortunately. It is fine, I will contingency plan for next time, but didn't foresee it happening as it has never happened before. Unexpected as work typically have a strict no overtime policy, but this was exceptional circumstances so will forgive them especially as the boss is not know to cater for meetings Wink Extra water and lower carb veg for tea and soon back on track.

PseudoBadger · 29/09/2014 16:44

I've been low carbing for ages so can't understand why I feel so rubbish today. Banging headache all day. It is probably the DC's cold.

kukesi · 29/09/2014 17:03

Dinner sorted, salmon with a blue cheese and mushroom sauce, asparagus with butter and lemon, something spinachy (spinach is my arch nemesis it never tastes nice when I make it), and runner beans.
Also just made a batch of tzatziki, to keep in the fridge, will take some to work tomorrow.

In a bit of a moody today, as the scales have not moved for a few weeks (well I tell a lie they went down 2lbs, but they had randomly added 2lbs the week before), Im sure I have lost through as trousers that were to tight have become looser- unless I have just stretched then Grin
Anyway I am just trusting it, and am feeling better in other ways, so keep plodding on.

kukesi · 29/09/2014 17:06

Pseudo I had that randomly the other day, I necked loads of water, and also made sure I ate something fatty and salty, felt better but unsure if it was the WOE or some bug, hope you feel better soon.

trashcanjunkie · 29/09/2014 17:44

Just checking in. Bombs away everybody Grin

spamm · 29/09/2014 18:01

Hello all - from the US, again like the May BC. Nice to see familiar names and new names!

I am at 197.6 lbs, (lost just over 17 lbs on the May BC), and I have managed to keep it all off over the summer months. My clothes are too big, but I am not yet ready to invest in new clothes - need to loose a few more lbs before I do that!

Can somebody put it in the spreadsheet for me - yet again, I seem to be having trouble with permissions, but I will try on Ipad later, as I was able to add myself to the sheet last night. On my second ltr of water and just had a nice Caesar salad for lunch.

ClashCityRocker · 29/09/2014 18:05

Today's going well - had scrambled egg for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch and will be having chicken skewers for tea with some salad and mayo.

Need to drink some more water thought, only on 1l so far.

FannyBurney · 29/09/2014 18:42

I'm on board.

really busy day at work but home now and a creamy full fat yoghurty chicken curry in the oven right now.

Had to go slightly bc light and have some walnuts instead of lunch, but they are only 3g carbs/100g so I don't feel too bad about it and it wasn't many.

TaffyandTeenyTaffy · 29/09/2014 19:16

Day 1

  • scrambled eggs for breakfast
  • tuna mayo for lunch
  • chicken breast, mushroom and cheese omelette for tea
  • green tea x 3
  • not much water.... yet
Birdinacage · 29/09/2014 19:36

Evening fellow bootcampers Grin. I've been following a mix of bootcamp and bootcamp light since March so about 6 months now with only a couple of mindful carby occasions.

For those of you just starting out on this WOE if you follow the rules and have the willpower to resist the cravings it really does work, I started in march at 191lbs, tired, in constant pain and always hungry. 6 months later I am now 155lb, so that's a loss of 36lbs or just over 2 1/2 stone in 6 months. I have loads of energy, the constant pain I lived with every day is gone and I've gone from wearing a generous size 16-18 in trousers to, just this morning, putting on a pair of size 12 skinny jeans that have sat unworn in a drawer since the day I bought them! I still have at least 2 and ideally 3 stone to go to reach my ideal weight but I'm so much happier eating this way and the weight is still dropping off even though it's slower now so I know I can get there in time and I'm enjoy my food along the way.

Pisseslikeahorse · 29/09/2014 19:43

ok correct thread this time - hello all

am returning for another session haven't really stopped since may to tidy up my numbers and give it some more. Did a couple of goals over the summer and learnt some hard facts about eating cornish confectionery, lets say I love certain foods but they don't love 'low carb' me anymore.

CQ · 29/09/2014 21:00

Hello Pisses - good to be back on board and I'm looking forward to being inspired by some of your big numbers lost this time Smile

Good to see other familiar names too - glad it's not just me that needs to get back on the straight and narrow.

I'm hoping I will have more energy this time around so I can keep going with the exercise.

Crabby - the crustless quiche looks fab and is now on my menu plan for Friday Grin

FolknNorah · 29/09/2014 21:00

Evening all!
Not weighing just hoping to gradually fit into more clothes as the weeks go by Grin
3 litres water done.
BPC and small amount of total yoghurt
Salmon and buttery spinach for lunch.
Buttery eggs and salad for tea.
A few olives (5/6)

Hope everyone is ok today? Good luck all.

MrsHerculePoirot · 29/09/2014 21:06

Marking place!

aNoteToFollowSo · 29/09/2014 21:12

OH dear, not a great day. But I learned loads about what the bootcamp entails, and a big part of the problem is that I was out for dinner. Very hard to low carb if someone else has cooked for you. Still, I managed to stay off the wine - one advance.

I'm treating today as a warm up, and am determined that tomorrow will be by the book.

HumphreyCobbler · 29/09/2014 21:16

Hello, thank you for the lovely new thread. I have been low carbing, but not strictly, for ages now but I am now going to boot camp and cut out the nuts and the occasional apple in an attempt to lose the last bit of baby weight.

Had nice meals all ready to go, including cauliflower cheese with lemon juice - thanks BIWI!

Interestingly my DH, who has previously complained he can't digest low carb food properly, has now come into the fold and has lost lots of weight, DESPITE eating a bowl of cornflakes every day Shock. I just don't know how he gets away with it!

BIWI · 29/09/2014 21:18

Evening all! Just finished work, so sorry for lack of posts from me.

amigababy you do know that nuts aren't allowed on Bootcamp don't you?

And you, FannyBurney! Why did you 'have' to have walnuts?

I have had a bit of an odd food today. Have been suffering with very unpleasant heartburn/acid reflux, so not especially interested in food. (Hurrah!). Also, haven't had any coffee, as I know that aggravates it. So today was:

Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs, Berocca soluble tablet in half a litre of water
Lunch - chicken in a tomato, cream, chilli and cheese sauce (a concoction I make in the microwave at work!)
Dinner - leftover sliced roast pork, with mushroom sauce and a bit of Parmesan

Already about 3 litres of water consumed.

Still not feeling 100%, and I'm knackered - slept very badly last night, and will have to be up early to get into work tomorrow, so not much more from me tonight I'm afraid!

A very important disclaimer

I should have posted this first thing, but forgot with one thing and another - but better late than never!

I am not a doctor. I am not a nurse. I have no medical training, and I am not a nutritionist nor a dietician. The advice I give here is based on the reading I have done, as well as my own experiences of low carbing. If you are currently taking any long-term medication or have a long-term health issue, please take your GP's advice before joining Bootcamp. This is especially important if you are on medication for high blood pressure.

Hello,

I weighed in at 180lbs this morning. I started the year with 181lbs and was down to 160lbs in April. I am so angry with myself, but my mental health wasn't great over the summer and it's just now that I actually start to feel a little bit better. Looking forward to the next weeks.

ClashCityRocker · 29/09/2014 21:27

Probably tmi but I've got really bad wind...

Is this normal Blush

BIWI · 29/09/2014 21:32

Probably just part of your body sorting itself out, and adjusting to its new diet.

Drink more water! Grin

PseudoBadger · 29/09/2014 21:34

Clash - I find as soon as I cut wheat then I almost never have wind. I'm fine with dairy though, and I think it can affect some people.
What have you been eating?

BIWI · 29/09/2014 21:35

A word about drinking water

You'll see me, over the next few weeks, boring on about drinking more water (and eating more fat!). It's really important to drink the water, and it helps with the weight loss. However, it's important that you keep your electrolyte levels balanced, and all this water can mean that they become unbalanced.

You need sodium, magnesium and potassium, which means:

  • you need to eat salt; cook with it and add it to your food; try drinking a hot drink made from Oxo or Bovril or Marmite.
  • salmon, avocado, spinach and natural full fat yoghurt are all good food sources
