Welcome everyone! I'm starting the thread early because I have to be up and out of the house at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your starting weight

If you don't want to put your weight on the public spreadsheet, you can enter it on the weight tracker. (This probably won't be available until tomorrow morning)

If you've joined up very recently, and your name isn't on the spreadsheet, just add it on at the bottom - the very lovely SayraT will re-alphabetize everything later.

I'm feeling very excited about this, and full of gratitude to BIBI for starting this. Thank you!

I've entered my weight, and am now off to the questions thread to post the many queries buzzing through my head.

Good to be on this journey together, good luck to us all, and thank you again BIWI and Sayra.

On the allowed foods, may I suggest that you add:

Sesame seeds - Protein 18.2g, Carbohydrate 0.9g, Fat 58g
Pure, undiluted Tahini - Protein 25.0g, Carbohydrate 9.7g, Fat 60.0g - but you dilute it to make the sauce, so the carb count is much lower.
Pine seeds (aka pine nuts, pine kernels) - Protein 14g, Carbohydrate 4g, Fat 68.6g
Biltong. Different makes have different added ingredients. My favourite is "Laverstoke Park Farm" - Protein 44g, Carbohydrate 1.7g, Fat 8.5g because it has the fewest added ingredients, no added rubbish, and nicest flavour and texture. But it's not easy to get hold of. Next best IMO is
"Unearthed" - Protein 48.5g, Carbohydrate 1.1g, Fat 6.3g

And for drinking, if you really miss sweetness, try Pukka Peppermint and Licorice, or Tea Pigs Licorice and Peppermint. They are naturally sweet, with the same smooth mouth-feel that sugar gives. They are expensive, but the bags are very strong (too strong for a regular mug, IMO) and I generally make at least 2 cups from each bag.

Morning! Weighed in at 13 stone exactly this morning so I'm hoping that's the last time my weight starts with a 13. My baby is 9 months old today and I'm preparing to go back to work (and fit into work clothes) so the maternity leave cake eating has to stop.

Greek yogurt for breakfast this morning. I have to have an early lunch as I have to leave for an interview, so I'll have some chicken and avocado salad. I might struggle with the water drinking but I'll try and work up to it. I'm also getting a fridge delivered this week, so I'm not sure what I'll be able to eat that day.

Hello all!
Did BC under a different name a year over a year ago, lost a stone and felt great. Have tried and failed since then to stick to it so the weight has crept back on (wine and bread and being too sedentary probably, not good when just over 50) SO am back and going to try really, really hard to make it work again this time! Ideally would love to lose a stone...
Thanks to BIWI and to Sayra for spreadsheet (was Wille when I first did it!) and to all who post for support!
Have started my day with coffee and a splash of cream
Later, frittata with courgette and a few spring onions
Later still, undecided (have to go to supermarket after work!)
Good luck everyone.
(Off to fill up large bottle of water to put next to computer!)

CQ · 29/09/2014 11:28

Morning all. Off to a good start this morning (apart from the weigh-in) - been for a swim and had eggs for breakfast.

I lost about 20lbs on the last bootcamp, managed to keep going v well on BC lite and then the summer holidays hit me hard and it all went pear shaped. And I finished with a crescendo of carbs last week - I'm looking at you, MacMillan coffee morning leftovers.

And I have felt SOOOO tired over the weekend - seriously overcarbed and over-sugared.

Thanks as ever, BIWI and Sayra, now I'm off to add my not-inconsiderable weight to the spreadsheet and drink some water. Then meal planning and supermarket.

Crustless chorizo and gruyere quiche in the oven. Yum.

2 escallion shallots and a clove of garlic, gently softened in butter.
chorizo sliced and quartered, gently cooked until a tiny bit crispy.
2 large eggs + 2 egg yolks
300mls double cream
generous sprinklings of grated nutmeg and pimenton/smoked paprika
plenty of sea salt and black pepper
a generous handful or so of grated gruyere cheese.

Mix it all together and sprinkle a bit more gruyere on top.
Bake at 180C for half an hour or so/until it's done.

Liveinthepresent · 29/09/2014 11:52

Just checking in to say I am so relieved to be underway. The weekend was like a non stop carb binge and I am currently weighing way more than I feared.
I am determined to be 7lbs lighter by my birthday in about 6 weeks.
DH made me an omelette for breakfast, prawn salad with avocado planned for lunch.

RoaringForties · 29/09/2014 12:02

Crabby that sounds absolutely delicious.
Morning and thank god to be back! Put a few lbs back on since last BC and have been in carbytwat mode for too long.
Thanks as always to biwi and sayraSmile

Livelongandprosper · 29/09/2014 12:20

Happy to see everyone back again! I haven't put anything back on since the end of the last bootcamp - hooray Smile Low carbing doesn't get rid of my sweet tooth altogether but it does help tone it down a bit. Looking forward to lurking on here over the next few weeks, onwards and downwards everyone!

Earlybird · 29/09/2014 12:28

Here we go........thanks Biwi, Sayra, stuntnun and anyone else who provides advice and support.

I did the summertime bootcamp, and managed to lose a stone (yea for me). Am hoping to delve into the bootcamp recipe thread this time 'round.

The first challenge I'll have is the houseguests who will be here this coming weekend.....but hopefully I can find a way to stat focused.

glenthebattleostrich · 29/09/2014 12:30

Crabby I'm trying that for tea later this week. It sounds delicious.

Not too bad so far today.

Yogurt for breakfast, I did miss the berries and seeds but not as much as I thought I would.

Lunch, chicken salad with cheese and peperami.

Tea will be lamb tikka if I ever get off my bum and marinade it.

1 litre of water so far. 2 more to go. Think I'm going to move into the loo.

CrabbyTheCrabster · 29/09/2014 12:31

It tastes pretty damn good too Forties! Smile

Pre-Christmas Low Carb Bootcamp Starts Here!
MyDirtyHarry · 29/09/2014 12:38

Hello all, i have been on-and-off low carbing bootcamp-style by myself since about july, and really have only kept 7lbs off, but last week I went for serious hardcore bootcamp; no berries, no dairy, no almonds (all things that i have been having quite often but i really think hinder my weight loss). At one point last week I had lost another 6lbs. This weekend involved a night of drinking foul sugary sweet cocktails at a work event, so this morning I am pretty much back to where I was but this week I am a 100% bootcamper, nothing on the horizon to trip me up, and thinking about excluding the plain soya yogurt i was having too as i think it has some sort of dodgy sweetner in it.
Looking forward to having a sit down and a trundle through the thread this evening.
today:
B - butter coffee (10g unsalted butter whizzed up with strong black coffee) i intended to have some eggs but time was not my friend.
L - tuna mayo salad with little gem and cucumber (obscene amount of mayo)
D - not sure as DP will be cooking but i think there will be roast chicken, courgetti, mushrooms etc

W(water) - 3 pints down, plus 1 black coffee in addition to the butter coffee. probs 2 more pints this afternoon and another 2 at home, and probably another black coffee just to get me through the day.

Sorelip · 29/09/2014 12:46

Hello everyone. Weighed in and raring to go. Will be having scrambled eggs for breakfast, salad for lunch and an omelette for dinner.

BetterTogether · 29/09/2014 12:51

Popped home on my lunch break to give me something to look forward to on my first day boot camping (!!)
Just frying some sliced leeks with coconut oil, the will add some leftover roast lamb & lots of butter, maybe some mayo too for my lunch Smile hungry now!

Good day so far. Had my boiled eggs, cucumber, salami & mayo once I got to work. I'd taken in a babybel as well incase I got hungry (tesco order arriving tonight, but for now I'm eating what's lurking in the fridge!) but I didn't need it.

Need to work on increasing my water, but so far so good!

DiscoDancer · 29/09/2014 13:19

Marking place to catch up later

GuyMartinsSideburns · 29/09/2014 13:22

Hello! My day is flying by today, I cant believe the time! Weighing in today at 9st 2lb which Im happy enough with as it means Ive pretty much lost all the pregnancy weight (ds almost 7 months) but ideally Id like to be under 9 stone which Id say was fine for my height (5.3).

No breakfast for me today, didn't fancy any and decided to crack on with some housework before school run instead. Ive just had some scrambled eggs, and dinner will be something salady.

Ive walked a few miles today, will be walking again shortly to get my other 2 children from school, and have had a couple of pints of water.

Have a great day everyone xx

TheNutmegofconsolation · 29/09/2014 14:04

Forgot to weigh myself this morning Blush. Will do so tomorrow.

Had 2 boiled eggs for breakfast and some prosciutto and emmenthal for lunch. Must go and drink some water. Grin

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 29/09/2014 14:46

Having a bit of a nightmare start to the week. Crisis in work meaning I had to stay for the afternoon (only work mornings on a monday normally). Big meeting at very short notice kinda thing. Work kindly prepared a lunch of....

...yep catered sandwiches. Lovely not but bootcamp friendly. Hmm

Anyway, not writing the day off. Going to stick to the rules for the rest of the evening and continue to drink plenty of water. Will pretend it is just a carb cut down day and carry on will the bootcamp plans for the rest of the week.

scousadelic · 29/09/2014 15:59

crabby I made a crustless quiche thingy on the last bootcamp and one of our nurses was telling me that her irish friend always referred to them as "Fat fecker flan". No matter how lovely and gourmet they are now I have that title floating around in my head Grin

I have had a sad leftover sausage (it was low in carbs though) and 2 scrambled eggs for breakfast and a ratatouille with mozzarella for lunch. It will be steak for tea but may need to have a bit of chicken or something to tide me over as I am a bit peckish (think there was not enough protein in my lunch)

kukesi · 29/09/2014 16:05

Thanks for the threads and all the hard work which goes into this!

Bitchy have you got anywhere you can keep emergency supplies?
I always keep some pork scratchings, kabanoski/peperami at work and in my car and babybell in the fridge at work. Not ideal snacks but very handy for odd emergencies.

Crappy your quiche sounds lush!

Going to look in my fridge to decide what to do for dinner...

amigababy · 29/09/2014 16:12

Just done a bit of low carb shopping, and realized part of my vege-phobia is laziness in preparation. So I've bought frozen chopped cabbage. No excuses accepted now!

B- Greek yoghurt, a few flaked almonds
L- 4 scrambled eggs, olives, watercress, olive oil, 3 cherry tomatoes

D will be buttery creamy mushroom curry with added quorn. A spud for dh too.
