Welcome everyone! I'm starting the thread early because I have to be up and out of the house at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your starting weight

If you don't want to put your weight on the public spreadsheet, you can enter it on the weight tracker. (This probably won't be available until tomorrow morning)

If you've joined up very recently, and your name isn't on the spreadsheet, just add it on at the bottom - the very lovely SayraT will re-alphabetize everything later.

Lots of ways to adapt andsmile. Don't mention low carb just suggest its for a change!

As discussed yesterday, swede is lovely on a shepherds pie. You can make a lovely noodle/pasta substitute from shredded courgettes. The taste alters considerably but I would suggest investing in a julienne cutter of Amazon to preserve your sanity if you're doing it for a family! I'm not into Mexican as I have problems with my joints and chilli but I think enchiladas are good in a lettuce wrap. Casseroles are no prob. Just serve yours with a cauli mash or celeriac. When I do curry we have spiced cabbage or roast, spicy cauliflower now. Everyone prefers that to rice now. Cauli rice is good too. Have a trawl through the BC recipe section. It takes awhile as its huge! Grin

BiggerYellowTaxi · 02/10/2014 14:25

Hobbes I made a nice dressing of mayonnaise, double cream, dried dill and some garlic powder. You could try it with different herbs for different flavours but I love dill.

scousadelic · 02/10/2014 14:59

No chance of not enough fat today! I was at my personal trainer this morning and, after a spectacular almost passing out on a previous bootcamp, have learned to put a few sensible carbs in till I get acclimatised so breakfast was 2 lc pancakes (2 eggs, dollop cream cheese and smaller dollop peanut butter) fried in coconut oil, topped with greek yoghurt mixed with a splosh of cream, a spoonful of DDs vanilla protein shake powder and frozen blueberries.

Lunch was surprisingly nice. I had a leftover M&S gammon steak topped with cauliflower cheese. I'm not a great cheese person (generally find it bleeurgh!) so left some of that off and topped it with a fried egg Smile

Have to go into work for a meeting from 6pm so will have to decide whether to do tea before or after

scousadelic · 02/10/2014 15:04

Could someone do me a favour please? I can't add my starting weight on the spreadsheet, I can get on there but can't enter anything. I'm doing my usual and not putting my real weight as it is top secret and if I told you all I'd have to kill you. I know it's stupid as none of you know me but I am really uncomfortable with putting it on there. I usually just start at a round number and count down so if someone could put 100 or 200 (try to stay below 500 though please! Grin) or something in the start box I would be grateful.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/10/2014 15:19

All done, in on 100 :)

Sorelip · 02/10/2014 16:50

Just ate a whole load of high carb hospital food after an operation. Back on the low carb wagon tonight, with cauliflower and spinach cheese.

andsmile · 02/10/2014 16:55

Thanks I better get reading then!

SixImpossible · 02/10/2014 16:58

Am I really the only one who snacks between meals? Confused

wombat22 · 02/10/2014 17:03

No six I sometimes snack in the first couple of weeks. It tends to stop after that as I don't feel hungry. I'm not starting till next week but still luking on the thread Smile

readyforno2 · 02/10/2014 18:00

Had a good day today. Finally got dp and youngest ds fitted for their kilts for the wedding. Ds1 will be fitted tomorrow Smile

Food today has been ok..
B - ff yog
L - smoked salmon with salad and mayo
D - gammon with mashed swede and creamy leeks (couldn't find the recipe so made it up) it was delicious!

I'm going to the personal trainer tonight so might adjust my weight and weigh on a Thursday from now on. I've been weighing there since January and don't own scales so would like to stay on the same ones!

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 02/10/2014 18:06

Nope Six i have just snacked on some of the left over grated cheese from making tea for the carby twats of the household.

I have some left over salad from lunch in the fridge and there is some left over cabbage and chicken from the other night. Picky kinda tea tonight but it suits my mood. Will be doing an extra week of the strict phase as there was a fuck up involving coffee today.

ChesterDrawers · 02/10/2014 18:20

I had some cheddar wrapped in Parma ham when I got home Six. Not hungry as such, just nibbly.

Had shocking choc cravings today so wanted to head them off at the pass. Seems to have done the trick so far.

ClashCityRocker · 02/10/2014 18:30

I snacked on some kale crisps last night.

But I've never been a grazer really - it's portion size where I go wrong!

Psyching myself up for the weekend. I think it will be the first one without alcohol for about fifteen years, so long overdue!

Have menu planned extra tasty foods so I don't feel deprived. Also have planned lots of teetotal activities.

It's going to be weird sitting down to strictly without a glass of wine, though.

Notsoskinnyminny · 02/10/2014 18:54

My home from work snack is a slice of torchon ham, spread thickly with butter and rolled up.

3lbs off this morning and need to be strong and ignore DH when he moans about not cooking roasties tomorrow his cooking night I've picked up a bottle of whisky so he can have a drink after our meal, normally we'll sit at the table sharing a bottle of wine before drinking best part all of another one in front of the telly but if there's no wine in the house I can't be tempted.

Hissy · 02/10/2014 18:58

i'm a good kilo down as of this morning.

struggling with the water though :( not eating enough fat, but have bought youghurt and cream so can top up!

pork belly (Lidl's finest..) so hoping that'll help!

Pisseslikeahorse · 02/10/2014 19:08

This is nagging at me so I'm going to say it, seems that theres allot of dairy being consumed for bootcamp...?

ClashCityRocker - try fizzy water, its my go to when dealing with others drinking.

Been a good day in pissy world, very long run, lots of water, cauliflower and mayo with every meal giving me a very noisy tummy. well done on the losses Im jealous

b. BPC
l.Bacon & Cauliflower
d. Bacon & Cauliflower
9pts water 3 coffee

Pisseslikeahorse · 02/10/2014 19:10

just want to add the dairy comment was general and not aimed at anyone

yongnian · 02/10/2014 19:21

Checking in...
B: Ff yog dbl cream cinnamon and peanut butter (Bfing)
L: chorizo avocado Boursin and pork scratchings
D: pork chop with cream and rosemary sauce. Green beans, broccoli and sugar snap peas.
S: mixed whole nuts and pork scratchings
W: 2 + litres so far, will be nearer to 3 by bed
E: post natal workout and LOADS of walking with pram

Feel good tho did feel utterly zapped after the mammoth walking - proper carb depleted but that's good...even managed with an impromptu last minute outing by taking water with and grabbing the chorizo/avocado/Boursin before leaving.

Have realised that this WOE is not only the way I prefer to eat (minus the starchy carbs and sugary bits which i get into a vicious insulin spike circle with) and it actually really suits my body. Think the benefits are gonna be great and feel really committed.
YEAHHH!!

FolknNorah · 02/10/2014 19:21

Evening all!
Shouting my shit as per.

B BPC (oops)
Melted cheese
D fried lamb steaks, wilted green salad leaves
T BIWI's tuna melt with spinach Grin

Last 500 ml of water to go and I'm done. Smile
I did have a few minutes today where I really wanted something silly but have come out the other side. Grin

So, any ideas for 'treats' on my birthday?

ChesterDrawers · 02/10/2014 19:33

Pisses I thought a bit of dairy was ok as long as it didn't affect your weightloss? Personally I've not been having loads, as I'm not sure it's not a problem for me, but I thought it was generally a 'suck it and see but keep an eye on the carbs' kind of thing. Happy to be corrected, of course.

FannyBurney · 02/10/2014 19:54

Sorry too knackered to read all thread. Shouting shit.

I'm still here, battling a properly miserable cold and 3 hours a day commute (counting walking to and from stations and collecting kids then walking home) to a new job. I took my pedometer on the first few days and I'm clocking up at least 5 miles a day walking, so I don't resent it. And is the most interesting job I've had in a decade, so worth it.

Don't miss carbs one bit. Wine though...

Can't remember what have eaten but I've been on track. Tonight: bacony feta-y omelette and roast courgette.

Pisseslikeahorse · 02/10/2014 20:00

ChesterDrawers - my concern is that people won't get into proper ketosis (the reason for the initial two week stint) and end up not dropping that much and get disheartened. Im sure its a suck it and see sort of thing but also that Dairy stalls people and speaking from experience is a very easy way of topping up fat and subsequently slowing down loss.

also to restrict yourself, making it harder to cope for the first two weeks will help you focus on the goal, give you an accomplishment and some more variation later on.

I think what I'm trying to highlight is that by following the rules a bit more closely for the first two weeks, such as restricting the diary, will help you focus on the rest of the 10weeks. Giving you more time later to experiment on your tolerances as you accomplish your target weight/goal

food for thought

Goldensunnydays81 · 02/10/2014 20:04

Had a bit of a wobble today thinking that I can't do this!! But went for a walk and have kind of snapped myself out of it!

B mushrooms bacon and scrambled egg
L broccoli soup made with cream
D prawn & mayo salad with avocado and a sausage

Tanukisan · 02/10/2014 20:09

Hello everyone I'd like to join please, although I'm afraid I'm not ready to ditch the coffee just yet. Today I had:

B: one boiled egg, spinach leaves, coffee
S: poached egg with smoked salmon and avocado, coffee
L: roast chicken and salad leaves, total yog (hadn't read instructions at that point!)
D: salami slices, kale with butter

Really interesting to read what others have eaten. I'm a terrible cook and some of you are so impressive!

I think I added myself properly to the spreadsheet.

BIWI · 02/10/2014 20:12

What's your concern, Goldensunny?
