Thanks for adding me in! What about tomato ketchup? I eat it pretty much with every meal Blush. Do I have to cut that out?

BIWI · 16/09/2014 13:52

'fraid so ... Grin

Look at the ingredients - sugar features pretty highly.

If you were just using a little dab once every now and then you could get away with it, but if you're using it at every meal all you're doing is eating sugar - aka carbs.

Sorry!

Heinz squeezy tomato ketchup is 24.1g per 100g and 4.1g per tablespoon.

If you eat it at every meal you're likely to be getting a minimum of 8g of carbs per day (probably a lot more)

You have to get your carbs (especially in the early stages of Bootcamp) from vegetables and salad.

I thought as much tbh. Maybe its time to cut the life long addiction.

FelixFelix · 16/09/2014 13:55

Any idea what I can have for breakfast? I don't eat eggs. I usually have natural yog and berries but no berries allowed Sad

HRH008isback · 16/09/2014 14:21

No beans Shock

Time to read the recipe thread!

MrsHerculePoirot · 16/09/2014 14:23

Felix, how about cold meats and cheeses continental style, bacon, mushrooms, leftovers from the night before. Once you get out of the mindset that breakfast can only be certain limits foods, and actually you can just eat anything (bootcamp friendly obvs) then it is much easier!

olivesnutsandcheese · 16/09/2014 14:27

How about full fat greek yoghurt with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a slug of double cream to up the fat. I had that this morning Grin

I also thoroughly recommend tick tock rooibos green tea

booksandchoc · 16/09/2014 14:53

Is there any recipe threads for low carbing?

I have greek yoghurt, cinnamon and cream fro breakfast and blueberries or strawberries when I'm not on full Boot Camp - it's yummy! :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 16/09/2014 15:46

I second the full fat greek yog plus a sprinkle of cinnamon, tis proper yum, I have something like raspberries when not on bootcamp.

Arf

First wrote that as

flu fat greek hog

Grin

But yy to different things, having some chook and mushrooms tomorrow

prettybird · 16/09/2014 15:51

I forgot about raspberries - best option of the lot when we're allowed to have them :)

FelixFelix · 16/09/2014 16:35

Ah yes I remember having that on last bootcamp! Thank you Smile

Username12345 · 16/09/2014 17:30

Are home made curries ok?

Madamnit · 16/09/2014 19:24

I have a question! I make low carb bread from ground almonds and flaxseed and I often have this for breakfast or snack with pâté or avocado.

I see no seeds or nuts allowed...so is this out?

BIWI · 16/09/2014 19:49

Yes, Madamnit, sorry!

BIWI · 16/09/2014 19:50

Username - it depends entirely on what ingredients you're using! What's in your recipe?

OP posts:
Username12345 · 16/09/2014 20:21

Just the basics - Onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander, green chillies, salt.

Madamnit · 16/09/2014 20:40

SOB

BIWI · 16/09/2014 20:41

Username - all of those are perfectly fine, with a note of caution about the onion. Onions are 7.9g carbs per 100g, and as a quite dense vegetable you don't get a lot for your 100g. So try substituting it with shallots (buy banana/echalion shallots as they're bigger and easier to peel) as they are only 3.3g carbs per 100g.
