Please can I join? I urgently need to kick my sugar habit. Today alone has seen a significant amount of chocolate consumed plus some peanut brittle thrown in Sad. I'm hoping that low carbing will get me into a new eating pattern that does not include vast amounts of sugar. Plus I badly need to lose about 1.5 stone. I keep vowing to do things differently but I think it's time to face the fact that I am not going to do this on my own. I would love to join the bootcamp for the support and framework it will provide.

Sorry BIWI not sure if I should add myself or rely on your kindness to add me. Either way, I would love to be in!

BIWI · 17/09/2014 21:03

aNoteToFollow - you're more than welcome to join! And you'll soon find out that I'm not really that kind once we get going ... Grin

Just c+p the list and add yourself to the bottom

Yay, thanks BIWI. I'll stick with the nice kind image of you till my illusions are torn away Grin

What's even sadder is that I am excited to join. Feeling hopeful about this.

Am so glad you are doing this again! I've been inspiring myself this week by looking at recipes online. I need to lose about a stone and a half as most of my wardrobe doesn't fit me and when I did this ten years ago I got down to 9 stone 3 and lost my tummy! Am really committed this time so count me in!

fairylightsintheloft · 17/09/2014 21:58

Can I join? Will do the list tomorrow when on mac not phone. Have been low carbing for years on a nd off, hada brief and unsunsuccessful flirtation with sw so am back on lc but need some new ideas / inspiration
Would love to lose 2 stone but would be happy with 1.

CrabbyTheCrabster · 17/09/2014 22:01

I'm in, sort of. Grin I think I'll stick to BC light though, if that's ok BIWI? If the weight still isn't shifting on my current regime by the time BC starts, I might do the proper two weeks too.

Just having a read and catch up before bed.

Re the breakfast - try full fat total yogurt. With a sprinkle of cinnamon. Gawjus.

MyDirtyHarry · 18/09/2014 07:21

Hi, I've been lurking for bits of a couple of bootcamps and am currently supposed to be low carbing but have been stuck at 7lbs off for quite a while, due to such things as almond butter and Camembert, my DP's 'low carb' cooking and a banana cake incident last night. So I need to sign up and do it properly.

Pleaseandthankyou · 18/09/2014 08:35

I just wanted to say thank you BIWI for introducing boot camp to me early last year. It has changed my shape, changed my eating habits and I like the way I look now. I could lose a bit more but would be happy to stay this size.I won't join boot camp proper but I will be lurking. Just to give everyone some inspiration. Last week I stood on the scales and my weight was much higher than when I had last weighed. I had been eating anything and everything for a few weeks. I have been strict bootcamping since Monday. I weighed this morning and I have lost 6 pounds. Biwi you put so much into this. Just wanted to let you know it is very much appreciated. Good luck to everyone, listen to BIWI, she knows what she is talking about and no cheating!

slothage · 18/09/2014 10:34

Please can I join - Ive been low carbing on my own for the past few months but I'd love the support

BIWI · 18/09/2014 12:35

Definitely agree re the no cheating, Pleaseandthankyou!

I'm getting my big stick ready and will be waving it around with gay abandon from 29 September. Don't say you haven't been warned ... Grin

Hello! I've lurked for a while on these threads and have been low carbing for a few months but not to a boot camp level. Would love to finally join in to lose those last few pounds.

Yes please! I've got all kinds of good intentions, having just read 'Grain Brain' which puts a convincing case for cutting out all gluten and most carbs.

Just a quick note - please remember (and correct anyone who accuses this WOE of being so) that low carbing is exactly that - low carbing. It is not 'no' carbing.

You should get the majority of your carbs from vegetables and salad.

It's often the naysayers who try to rubbish this WOE because it's 'cutting out' a whole food group. Which is nonsense. All we're doing is 'rearranging' the proportions of food that we eat.

So instead of eating carbohydrate:protein:fat, which is what is currently recommended as a 'healthy' diet, we're aiming to eat fat:protein:carbohydrate.

There's also, if anyone is interested, a brilliant book that's worth reading, called "A Big Fat Surprise" here that investigates all the (very) dubious science around the supposed link between fat and heart disease (and weight).

There is, if you didn't realise, no proof that saturated fat causes coronary heart disease. Something that comes as a real shock given what we've all been told about fat over the last 30 years or so!

Can I sign up too? I lost three stone last year by calorie counting, but I've put nearly a stone back on. I've tried low carbing, but never last more than a week or so - maybe doing it with group support might help me keep at it.

Can I start now? Very enthusiastic, just made shopping list and had a delicious breakfast of naice ham, avocado and plum tomatoes, was lush!

Can I check BIWI, in the first 2 weeks, what's allowed in coffee? Instead of milk.

PseudoBadger · 19/09/2014 08:55

I'll be back! Have carried on (with occasional Carby Twat moments) and lost since I finished January Bootcamp - this will be the final push!
