If you're interested in joining us, sign up here. Bootcamp lasts for 10 weeks, and starts with two strict weeks, before you move on to Bootcamp Light for the remaining 8 weeks.

You aren't allowed to eat:

potatoes
pasta
rice/noodles
bread
sugar
flour

And for the first two weeks you can't eat fruit or drink alcohol

The idea behind Bootcamp is that whilst it should be strict (and therefore, hopefully, work!) that it should also be easy - therefore there is no weighing or counting of anything. Just ten rules that you need to follow.

So if you're interested - put your name down here!

Dropped out of last one after losing half stone in 2 wks, then just...bleh.
Need to start again! Thanks Biwi.

Jimmy - once you're keto-adapted, i.e. you have switched your body from burning carbs to burning fat, which takes generally around 2 weeks (the first couple of weeks of Bootcamp are designed to help you achieve this), then occasional forays off the wagon shouldn't be too detrimental - as long as you are very disciplined about getting back on the wagon and not letting the carbs creep back into your diet.

That is excellent news, thank you!

BecauseImWoeufIt · 22/04/2014 21:56

Although I should point out that you won't know how it's going to affect you until you try it! Some people seem to get away with more than others. It's one of the frustrating things about low carbing - there isn't a hard and fast rule for how many carbs you can/should be eating. Everyone is different!

In other words, this isn't giving you carte blanche to stuff your face with chocolate every day

I'd like to join in. Slightly hampered by an underactive thyroid which has helped me gain 5 stone in 5 years Sad (cake may have also been involved Wink).

BIWI · 22/04/2014 22:12

Are you on medication for that, FanDance? If so, you should take some advice from your GP about starting this.

FanDanceLil · 22/04/2014 22:16

Yes I'm taking Thyroxine but I'm at a steady dosage and bloods are back in normal range. Gp has advised me to lose weight but suggested weight watchers or similar which does seem to work for me.

Stars66 · 22/04/2014 22:23

Interested. I've just come to the conclusion that I'm a fad dieter. Wink

FanDanceLil · 22/04/2014 22:30

*doesn't seem to work

BIWI · 23/04/2014 06:36

Well, Stars66, you're in the wrong place. This is not a fad diet, but a way of eating.

FanDance - I hope this does work for you! But still best to tell your GP you're doing this. It's worth doing some reading about low carbing first, though, so that you're convinced by the science behind it - otherwise, if he/she dismisses low carb then it's easy to be put off.

wickedfairy · 23/04/2014 11:01

Sign me up please! I was on the last one and lost about 9lbs early on but then was abroad for 4weeks, ate whAt I wanted then didn't rejoin!!

I only have put a couple of pounds on though, do not too bad! Looking forward to starting again, thanks BIWISmileSmileSmile

VivaLeBeaver · 23/04/2014 11:03

I'd like to join. I'm a total carb addict so will find it tough.

Any ideas of what to eat for packed lunches? Salad all the way? Can I eat lentils?

GermanGirlinLondon · 23/04/2014 11:11

Hello, please count me in. I lost 20lbs on the last bootcamp, but then went back on the contraception pill and the weight loss stopped for nearly two months. I then stopped taking it and lost another 2lbs in less than two weeks. All went well until the LO's Christening and my Easter trip to Germany. I returned this morning and I am 11lbs heavier than I was on the morning of the Christening 11 days ago. I feel horrible. Started LC this morning again and looking forward to join the BC on the 5th.

muffinheaven · 23/04/2014 19:25

Sign me up please. I lost nearly a stone this time last year but it has all crept back on and I really need some motivation to try and shift it. Looking forward to feeling healthier again !!!

Jesuisunepapillon · 23/04/2014 19:45

I will join in but slightly have to adapt it for myself. I had a binge eating disorder and I find if I'm too strict I fall back into that (did a Whole 30 last year and it was great but massively triggered my binging for the first time in years).

So I will probably start with bootcamp light and lurk if that's ok. I think a little dark chocolate and some nuts help me keep going with it in a more sensible fashion and I manage not to eat huge quantities.

wombat22 · 23/04/2014 20:06

Hello, i'd like to join please. I lurked throughout the last boot camp and tried doing it myself. I didn't do very well but I'm determined this time. Are tomatoes not allowed because they're fruit? Confused

F1onajb · 23/04/2014 21:35

Can I join please? I really need to lose my weight as I can't fit into any of my clothes. My eating has been very bad Sad

BIWI · 23/04/2014 21:40

That sounds like a good idea, Jesuisunepapillon.

EvaTheOptimist · 23/04/2014 22:00

As far as I'm aware tomatoes are allowed.

Southsearocks · 23/04/2014 22:03

Oh thank god (and BIWI). Gone right off the wagon and need some discipline! I'm in.....

Wishiwashelenmirren · 23/04/2014 22:56

Have started weaning myself off carbs, trying to make the transition to bootcamp go smoothly. So today ryvita instead of toast with brekkie, no carbs with lunch, just one apple as snack and - hardest of all - no choccie with eve coffee! Helps as well that I have my DS home from uni, a true carb addict, eating my cupboards clear for me!

mirpuppet · 24/04/2014 05:48

I'm in.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 24/04/2014 06:41

Oh go on. Did Atkins years ago and it did work, just a pain by myself.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/04/2014 11:59

I've started already, had been off the wagon over the Easter weekend, but now back on bootcamp light until we start properly, and am somewhat going through carb withdrawal at the mo. Lost a stone on the last Bootcamp, and I feel so much healthier without processed carbs, especially bread of any kind, really do like this woe, so bring it on.

swlondonnanny · 24/04/2014 21:36

I'll join you as well Smile
Just curious BIWI why you suggested to discuss it with doctor in case of hypothyroid? I have had it for nearly 30 years, am on medication but it goes up and down. Whenever I tried LC in worked for me ( well, my version of it as I still eat fruit) so just wondering if I am doing myself some harm.
First time it was recommended to me by my acupuncturist who is a nutritionist so thought it was Ok?
