If you're interested in joining us, sign up here. Bootcamp lasts for 10 weeks, and starts with two strict weeks, before you move on to Bootcamp Light for the remaining 8 weeks.

You aren't allowed to eat:

potatoes
pasta
rice/noodles
bread
sugar
flour

And for the first two weeks you can't eat fruit or drink alcohol

The idea behind Bootcamp is that whilst it should be strict (and therefore, hopefully, work!) that it should also be easy - therefore there is no weighing or counting of anything. Just ten rules that you need to follow.

So if you're interested - put your name down here!

Also, might only weigh in Monday if at all. I'm going to take measurements and check my progress that way if that's ok with everyone? I'll post my numbers so we can see what happens.

I'm in

ImSoOverIt · 01/05/2014 17:44

I am being such a carby twat ATM, but somehow can't get the motivation to start til Monday...Confused

Notsoskinnyminny · 01/05/2014 17:48

I'm in again, need the threat of the BIWI stick to keep my on the straight and narrow.

Marmite and celery are the food of the devil along with liver Grin

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 01/05/2014 18:11

I've delayed starting as it was dds birthday and I thought we were all starting together anyway will invest in scales tomorrow! got fridge full of food! and raring to go. Confused though-on the rules it says coffee and cream is allowed, but then only two cups a day? Also are herbal and green teas ok?

feesh · 01/05/2014 18:11

Can I join too, please? I'm in the Middle East and going back to England for holidays in 10 weeks and I want to lose 10kg by then, which might be a bit of a ridiculous target, but as long as I move in the right direction I will be happy!

I am very nervous about the rules though. I'm fine with no booze or fruit, but the not too much cheese or processed meat rule scares me.

I actually spontaneously stopped eating carbs 48 hours ago without reading up on it first(!) but I already feel so much better and fuller and I'm not dizzy and irritable by the time DH gets home from work. But I have been relying on a cheese and ham lunch, and M&S ready-meals with veg for dinner......and bacon and eggs for breakfast...eek. I'm really fussy and I hate cooking (which is why I don't do diets) so these rules are a little scary!

pregnantpause · 01/05/2014 18:13

I am very grateful to the celery and marmite suggestions- it's helped with the cravings, the thought of those foul substances in some form of devilish alliance is enough to put anyone off even a mars barGrin

feesh · 01/05/2014 18:15

Another question which I've always wondered about (having never dieted before) - when people say they lost 1lb this week, how do they know? Is it my eyesight or my scales, because I can never see the scales in that much detail!! Does everyone use digital scales? Also, couldn't 1lb just be down to natural daily weight fluctuations as it is such a small amount?

I prefer to work in kg anyway, partly out of habit because that's what I'm used to weighing myself in now, and partly because I don't understand how many lbs are in a stone etc!

Twit · 01/05/2014 19:50

Yes it could feesh that's why it's best to weigh once a week although most people weigh everyday anyway Grin and get excited / sad depending on the results.

Twit · 01/05/2014 19:51

ohwstfuckeryisthis I'm starting on Monday, I think some people are cheating getting a head start.

petalsandstars · 01/05/2014 19:56

Is there going to be a new or reset spreadsheet? So beginners know where we start from.

slimsoon · 01/05/2014 20:14

Is there somewhere to post your start weight?

WhooshFuckerFairy · 01/05/2014 21:08

Hold your horses ' team bootcamp' biwi will start a shiney new week one thread on Monday with instructions .

LadyWithLapdog · 01/05/2014 21:11

I need this again. All that good work last autumn...

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 01/05/2014 21:13

Ok, well I thought yes tonight I'm starting. But today I had cereals for breakfast, egg gammon carrots and green beans (school dinner) some wine gums, coffee and milk, then a big carb free dinner of cod, salad, vinaigrette and poached egg. I'm hungry now. Is that cos I've mixed it up?
Anyway, low carb till Monday then bang, I'm on it.

There will be a new Weight Tracker, starting from Monday.

Not sure if there will be a new spreadsheet, although the old one will be available, so you can access all the information on the tabs.

I know, Maryz, but Willie can't do it this time. And I don't know if MNHQ can replicate it. They may be able to, but I'm just trying to manage expectations!

teawithlemon · 01/05/2014 21:45

question please!
I fully anticipate the carb cravings to be bad, especially when I get stressed/tired at work - carbs previously being my go-to medication. Is sugar free chewing gum ok? Or sugar free mints?

BIWI · 01/05/2014 21:58

Not really, teawithlemon. On Bootcamp we're trying to eat 'clean', so no artificial ingredients, and especially no artificial sweeteners.

LadyWithLapdog · 01/05/2014 22:00

Part of it is trying to get disused to the sweet taste, even artificial one.

LadyWithLapdog · 01/05/2014 22:02

BIWI, can you remind me, how are lentils, split peas, other low-carb pulses?

teawithlemon · 01/05/2014 22:05

feared that might be the case. Right, will have to get on without then!

BIWI · 01/05/2014 22:07

Lady - pulses aren't allowed on either Bootcamp or Bootcamp Light, I'm afraid!
