Well, finally, we reach the finish line! One more week to shout your shit.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And the Weight Tracker

Hope the results are positive for you today - and that the rest of this week gives you time to drop another pound or two.

That's fantastic, Eva!

I was moved to measure my waist again, it's going down - still unhealthy at 35.5" (I have no real waist, never have had) but getting there. :)

Notsoskinny - have you tried rolling it between 2 layers of clingfilm, or even baking parchment? When I make spelt pastry for quiches etc., it's very short, and quite crumbly, so I roll it between clingfilm, that way it gets much thinner than otherwise, and I leave one layer of clingfilm attached while I put the pastry in the tin then peel it off after it's settled in. It's really good with pastry, don't know how well it would work with the flaxseed pizza base but worth a go :)

sybilfaulty · 20/03/2014 06:59

Still a wonderful achievement Eva! Wow! Slow and steady wins the race.

I can offer a before picture, but am still working on the after.....

Have a good day everyone

Suzymoo9 · 20/03/2014 07:23

That's inspiring Eva and a good motivator to keep keeping on

captainmummy · 20/03/2014 08:19

Well done Eva! You look Fab!

Thumb - you beat me too it - I was going to suggest 2 pieces of clingfilm too! I make flaxseed crackers (great with a thick slice of cold butter on mmmmmm) wiith the same recipe and I roll out between clingfilm. Or on baking parchment underneath and clingfilm on top so I can just lift it onto the baking tray.

monkeyfacegrace · 20/03/2014 08:41

Wow Eva!

That flaxeed pizza, I always just squish it into shape with my hands, no rolling required.

And, and, AND......

I weighed in this morning at 150.8lb!!!

I skipped 151 completley! So ruddy excited! Thats now a 25lb loss. I think my fuck ups last week must have kick started my weight loss again?

CrabbySpringyBottom · 20/03/2014 09:06

Aw you're all so lovely. Thank you. Flowers I am though

You certainly did tell me so BIWI! Blush Grin

MrsHP I felt that I was relying too much on meat, especially processed meat, and so much dairy. I was really missing 'good' carbs... Beans in stews, the odd slice of sourdough bread and hummus, farro risotto, new potatoes and peas with smoked mackerel, occasional pasta/polenta and wanted to move towards the 'mediterranean diet'. The trouble is, then it seems to rapidly spiral into wanting pesto with pasta instead of courgetti, more bread, rice etc, and finally, delicious crap like hot cross buns. Sad

Ho hum.

Great news about the interview Whoosh!

LMiss that's great news about the interview. I'm sure you'll be able to rearrange it.

Eva what an amazing loss! Flowers You must be quite tall though, no? Because you definitely do not look like a size 18 on top, or even a size 14 on the bottom.

Well done Monkey too. The weight's falling off you!

NeverEndingLaundry · 20/03/2014 09:07

Eva you look great - you look beautiful in the before pic too, but I am inspired by how slim you are now.

I'd love to be 10st 10lb (I'm 2 stone away...) and I'm prepared for it to take a while because I can so handle this way of eating in comparison to Weight Watchers, fasting, low GI etc.

Crabby sorry your GI didn't work. Thank you for telling about it. It's starting to make sense to me: low GI is my default way of eating and I'm always hungry and fat! I still struggle with the old complex carbs 'health' advice - and I have a weird attraction to lentil hippie food - but I think I have the confidence to dump carbs for long enough to lose weight this time, with all the help here.

LMD sounds like you are dealing with the stress really well - go for it!

felix I started last week too and I've squeezed myself into a few of my 'thin' clothes already! Yay for us!

NeverEndingLaundry · 20/03/2014 09:10

Crabby cross post. You sound so like me, food-wise.

StuntNun · 20/03/2014 09:29

Does anyone have a low carb hot chocolate recipe? I have 85% chocolate and double cream to hand resists urge to just dip the chocolate in the cream.

NeverEndingLaundry · 20/03/2014 09:57

How about melting choc in cream then adding some hot water? I'm guessing though.

EvaTheOptimist · 20/03/2014 10:00

Crabby I am tall and relatively large-framed, and I have large norks which bumps the top size up.

I've PMed you as I wrote a long post full of mentions of carby foods - and I don't want to derail or distract other posters by doing such a thing!

StuntNun · 20/03/2014 10:09

Found it on the week 2 thread!

^Half cup water
2 tbsp cocoa
cinnamon or other spice to taste
2 tbsp double cream
Heat together in a small pan, stirring continuously, do not allow to boil. Decant back into mug and drink.^

StuntNun · 20/03/2014 10:50

Nooooo it was revolting :-(

Piscivorus · 20/03/2014 12:04

Might be nicer if it was grated chocolate melted into the cream and water rather than cocoa?

Thumbwitch · 20/03/2014 12:26

Bugger, sorry StuntNun, I could have told you it was foul! I tried it twice just to make sure, extra cream, changed the cinnamon to vanilla, no, it was still foul. :(
Mind you, I have extra raw organic cacao, which is pretty fucking bitter, that might have had something to do with it. :(

I made a chocolate nutty thing the other night - organic hazelnut butter with cacao, extra cacao, butter, almond meal and vanilla, cold pressed into a tin in the fridge. I still can't eat it. :( It's viciously expensive - and it's too bitter to enjoy, plus there's a nasty oily backflavour to it (from the hazelnut butter, I think) that I don't like. I keep meaning to try it with double cream to take the bitter edge off, but haven't managed it so far. Just had a nice peach with double cream though - not a very ripe one, but a white-flesh peach, which is naturally sweeter than a yellow-flesh one anyway, so it was still pleasant if a little crisp! Grin

Lunch - don't think I had much - maybe a couple of meatballs? And a lump of cheese. And an ultra-low carb bar.
Dinner - fried haggis, with mushrooms fried in butter, swede mash (with butter) and steamed green beans and kale. Very nice!

FelixFelix · 20/03/2014 13:20

I'd do grated chocolate rather than cocoa too! There's an amazing coffee shop close to me in Leeds city centre who do the worlds best hot chocolate and I'd love to know how they make it. It's quite bitter which is good for me as I hate sweet hot choc. I'm sure it must be similar concoction of grated dark choc but maybe whole milk rather than cream. It is quite thick though. I need to infiltrate their staff and find out Grin

I'm really hungry today!! Had yoghurt and berries for breakfast but haven't got anything in for lunch as we are going shopping tonight. I've got loads of eggs but I've really gone off them recently. The thought of egg makes me feel nauseous Confused

GatoradeMeBitch · 20/03/2014 13:56

I was stupid last night and ate a huge wedge of chocolate fudge birthday cake my friend dropped round. And then 2 packets of hula hoops. And then some ancient icecream I found in the chest freezer.

I woke up today feeling groggy and crap, and the cravings are back - of course. I don't want to keep doing this!! I wasn't even hungry last night. The cake was just there, so I ate it.

Thanks for the hot choc review StuntNun, I don't know if I'll try that then! I have the Green & Blacks tinned cocoa, but adding it to cream doesn't seem to do anything but add a mild bitter taste. I might donate it to someone who can have sugar with their cocoa.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 20/03/2014 14:03

Gatorade you sound just like me - 'because it was there' is my default setting when it comes to food (especially the biscuit tin at work). I think when I start my new job I am going to tell them I am allergic to gluten so they don't offer me biscuits and cake Grin

Eva you look lovely.

Does anyone here train properly (BIWI I think you might?) I need to find something to help shift what I am going to call 'my extra bum' - big fat deposits above my actual bum that mean skirts are like 2 inches longer at the front than the back. My waist has got slimmer for sure, and tummy going down, but this just looks exactly the same...

StuntNun · 20/03/2014 14:30

I'll try that Pisci thanks, I may use more cream in proportion to butter as well.

StuntNun · 20/03/2014 14:30

Sorry in proportion to water.

monkeyfacegrace · 20/03/2014 14:44

Right clear something up for me ladies!

Water, and drinking 4l a day.

Sometimes I feel dizzy, and light headed.

I have severe anxiety anyway, and am worried Im damaging my kidneys/brain through water intoxication!

Someone reassure me? im high maintenece I know

prettybird · 20/03/2014 14:46

I've found this luxury hot chocolate recipe - it uses some honey but given that we've trained our taste buds away from sugar Wink, we could try it without. Grin

StuntNun · 20/03/2014 14:55

Try more salt and/or magnesium supplements Monkey. Natural water sources such as streams and rivers contain magnesium but tap water doesn't contain any. I buy salt that contains potassium, calcium and magnesium as a way of keeping my trace minerals up.

WhooshFuckerFairy · 20/03/2014 14:56

will be brief.

eva stunning/ motivating

crabby have you read the last chapter of IPD book - they talk about very slow introduction of things like lentils etc- but only twice a week, they are quite prescriptive about it . Might be worth a read.

monkey am sure 4l ok - is that what you need in the rules.?

Question. I have been told they would like me to participate in an " observed focus group" at my interview tomorrow. How does one behave.....? Take the lead,( supposing I know anything about the topic?) let someone else take the lead, ask questions from everyone else or spout my own opinion ?..... aaagghhhhhh flipping out -I detest interviews. AM hugely sleep deprived as everyone I go to sleep I am being interviewed or dying ( the uterine biopsy thing is playing on my mind and not until April 15th)

waves to all. sorry in a dash x

StuntNun · 20/03/2014 14:58

Oh and Monkey water intoxication occurs when you are drinking too much water and simultaneously depleting your mineral levels, e.g. by running a marathon. You should be drinking water throughout the day rather than downing pint after pint.
