Here's The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And The Weight Tracker

By now, if everyone has been following Bootcamp/Bootcamp Light rules properly then we should all be keto-adapted, and should be burning fat. Yippee!!

Hope everyone has a good week.

You can drink slimline/diet tonic, but just remember it's artificial sweeteners which we're trying to avoid, and which can have an impact on your blood sugars.

Also, even though gin is no carb, alcohol is a source of fuel that your body will turn to before it burns anything else, so while you're drinking alcohol, you won't be burning fat, which means you won't be losing weight

Aw BIWI, you're such a spoilsport voice of reason...

trashcanjunkie · 15/02/2014 23:01

loving your take on my errant dc crabby Grin

evening peeps - just a quick SMS

felt very tired last couple of days - de-motivated but still utterly resolute. Missing dairy I think.

B - scramb eggs/ mushrooms

S - three pepperamis and two bags mr porky Blush

L - really fucking weird soup (crab shell stock I made with fried tuna/anchovies/kale/shallot plopped in, then added half an avocado in mayo Confused) that was actually very salty and nice but rich and not helping the heartburn...

D - lamb steaks with chilli and garlic/broccoli stem tips and baby spinach fried in leftover lamb butter stuff

5 litres water and two peppermint teas with coconut oil

little dcs off to dads - spent afternoon in walk in centre with mystery tummy pains from one of them - either it's gonna be his appendix or he's pulled a muscle Hmm needed to check it out before packing them off to til tuesday as he's slack (sent other dc to school twice with concussion. School and I livid) if well meaning. [twerp emoticon] Walk in centre was a two hour wait. It's drained the marrow from my bones

Keep on an' all that

so pleased your back and ok littlemiss I think your ideals are fantastic

big low carb love to everyone

trashcanjunkie · 15/02/2014 23:02

oh and two teaspoons of clotted cream straight from the tub in a moment of desperation Blush fucking tremendous

Beginning to think I might have a problem with dairy Sad. I had a quick jump on the scales this morning and I am 2.5lbs up on last Monday.

The only cheat I've had all week was my choc mousse on Friday which was basically dark choc and cream, so not even that bad in the grand scheme of things. Other than that I have been a perfect boot camper, low carbs, lots of fat, tonnes of water.

The thought of no dairy makes mewant to cry though.

StuntNun · 16/02/2014 08:11

My name is StuntNun and I have been a carby twat, may the scales forgive me (not so far as up a pound this morning after my previous ubercamp success). My mum wanted to go for lunch in the Sainsburys cafe as we were in Sainsbos for the shopping anyway. No problem thinks I, I'll just have soup as I had a big breakfast. Noooo, the soup choices were pea and ham or tomato and basil. Hmm So I ended up having beef stroganoff with white and wild rice. It was edible nice enough but left a bit of a lump in my stomach. Fortunately the portions were minuscule - think child-size - so if probably didn't do too much damage. Then DH took me out to a vair posh restaurant and it was the kind of place where you can't swap things out because it's all mixed up iyswim. I had sea bass with a potato and celeriac cake, crab mash and seafood velouté for a starter. Main was duck breast with Parmesan risotto with truffle shavings, roasted celeriac and topped with blackberries and toasted hazelnuts. I was a leetle bit naughty on dessert and had panna cotta with chocolate brownie. I know I should have eaten the brownie but by that time I was in too deep to back out.

Today I must be very very good. In wonder if that avocado is ripe yet?

teaandthorazine · 16/02/2014 08:41

StuntNun that dinner does sound lovely though!

Thanks for the sprout recipes you lot - I may venture to lidl this pm and buy some...maybe Grin. I like the idea if being someone who can eat sprouts, weird I know!

Am a bit grrrr this morning - just got on the scales and am a pound up despite being totally LC yesterday and definitely being in ketosis. I know I had a latte and some chocolate on Friday but tbh apart from that I'm a) actually eating very little and b) have been on plan all week. Am just bored of gaining and losing the same few pounds over and over again.

I know I could do with drinking more water so will try and keep that up this week. But it can't be just water! I've run out of ideas. I don't have much to lose (would be happy with half a stone off) and if I cut out dairy then I really will lose the will to live. I know the alternative is not an option but am fed up and just want a big bowl of cereal Angry

ElBombero · 16/02/2014 08:46

BIWI sadly preparing for übercamp tomoz, going shopping later... Just a quick question re drinks. Am I ok with a couple of black coffees and green teas, also BPC minus cream?

AthelstaneTheUnready · 16/02/2014 08:58

Morning, and welcome back LittleMissD. Frankly, the only way you'd not fit into this thread is if you were the only person not to have a wobble.

Chester, Bomb, when my weight was lurching upwards a few weeks ago it was agony enough giving up the --vast quantities- cheese for a bit, but there's no way I could have given up dairy in total. Just stopping cheese was enough to reverse the gain and start losing again in just a few days. This, whilst STILL getting through over a litre of double cream a week. So it may not have to be all dairy for you either? Worth trying?

Oh, and it can be just not enough water that is stalling you, even if all else is perfect. I have previously experimented on your behalfs with that one, too Blush.

sybilfaulty · 16/02/2014 08:58

Have rather lost my way over the last few days. I am going to get back on properly today. DH is taking the children to see the lego movie so I am going to do some house jobs, hang around on here and DRINK WATER. We are then going out for lunch. Must rein myself in.

Well done to everyone doing well and Flowers for all the sickies and those who are struggling.

ChesterDrawers · 16/02/2014 09:04

I feel the same Tea, I can cope with gaining when I know I am cheating but I've been so good. I am gutted at the thought of no dairy, that feels very diet-y. Can't start that yet anyway as there's a huge vat of brocolli and Stilton soup in the fridge.

I am out for lunch today and will have yet another dull salad, but knowing I have gained for no reason makes it seem so hard.

WillieWaggledagger · 16/02/2014 09:10

God I love blue cheese, though a little goes a long way

Whodunnit I hate people commenting on my weight - I know it comes from a kind place but I find it intrusive and uncomfortable

I just say 'yes' politely like you, but if they push and they are really annoying me I say 'I stopped eating low fat foods' as that really confuses them!

ElBombero · 16/02/2014 09:10

Thanks athel, it's only 3 days gonna give it a go then maybe stop the cheese for abit longer. It's my brews I'm gonna miss like mad. Only have 2 for breakfast but after been up with my 5mo all bloody night it prepares me for a day with the 2 yr old.

ElBombero · 16/02/2014 09:12

Feeling abit down too Chester, said to DH last night I can't wait for it to be over, first time I've felt like this Hmm just hard carrying on when the scales aren't budging

ChesterDrawers · 16/02/2014 09:13

And can I just say, what really pisses me off is the fact my DH who is supposed to be low carbing but thinks that means having lattes, sandwiches, haribo and lager, plus all the fatty meals I cook, has just got on the scales and has lost 2 fucking lbs this week.

NOT FAIR!

ChesterDrawers · 16/02/2014 09:14

And that's after we've eaten breakfast - huge fry up - and two cups of coffee. So he's probably lost even more!

DurhamDurham · 16/02/2014 09:21

Chester my hubby also insists he is low carbing but eats all manner of bagels, shortbread and beer. He tells me he enjoys this WOE but then he would as at present he is eating high fat and probably medium carbs, what's not to like!! He has lost about half a stone so I suppose he must be doing something right. Should be happy for him but it drives me a little mad!! Grin

AthelstaneTheUnready · 16/02/2014 09:21

Ahh, poor Chester Grin; perhaps you could stop weighing your husband?

I like your baffling answer Willie Grin - whenever I'm quizzed (for sitting stuffing my face with clotted cream at my desk) I just say I gave up sugar, and things that instantly turn to sugar like bread and pasta. And then I ask how that project's going that they're working on...

RatherBeOnThePiste · 16/02/2014 09:27

Morning all :)

Hugs for all struggling at the mo, we will get there together X

BIWI · 16/02/2014 09:34

I think, for all of us, perhaps now is the time to step away from the scales for a little?

If you're following the rules - all of them - all of the time , then you should expect to lose 1-2lbs per week.

That doesn't sound much, does it? But just look - this is what a pound of fat looks like:

Week 5 Low Carb Bootcamp - Come and Shout Your Shit!
OP posts:
BIWI · 16/02/2014 09:36

... and if you're not following the rules, even just a teensy little bit - the odd latte here, not enough water one day - then you are risking sabotaging things

Chester list out your meals for me, from the last 3 or 4 days, and let's seen if there's anything we can help with

OP posts:
BIWI · 16/02/2014 09:38

ElBombero I can't see the problem with your tea/BPC as long as there's not dairy in it.

Good luck with ubercamp! I have to say, it's the prospect of no coffee that puts me off doing it.
