Here's The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And The Weight Tracker

By now, if everyone has been following Bootcamp/Bootcamp Light rules properly then we should all be keto-adapted, and should be burning fat. Yippee!!

Hope everyone has a good week.

Great post LittleMissDisorganized! I was considering going off diet while I'm away but your post has convinced me to try and stay on the straight and narrow. I don't want carb flu!

I had a baked mini camembert for dinner last night and dipped celery in it, it was gorgeous! I had to look online for instructions (important tip - don't let it overcook (important for people like me who let most things overcook) or it turns hard again and will not re-melt.)

I ate an entire berry crumble over two days this week - I don't dare make another one for a week or so! - but I seem to still be heading for a small loss this week, fingers crossed.

LittleMissDisorganized · 15/02/2014 12:25

I'll join the blue cheese dis-appreciation society Grin

And Gatorade I'm full of a neverending cold that started nearly 2 weeks ago - not poorly from carbs - think Durham has carb-hangover, and that wasn't my experience - but the tummy-shape-bloating was immediate. Plan, plan, plan is my only advice!

Pisci, MPR and others, it's lovely to "see" you too Blush

DurhamDurham · 15/02/2014 12:43

Just had bacon and eggs, the noise in my stomach has abated so that's mean I'm either back on track or the pesky animal dying in there has finally gone.
Dh has just asked 'Tea and a cake at Dobbies today?' I asked him if he was mad, did he want me to suffer all over again!! Peach Melba cream cakes have no appeal for me at all anymore.

Still it's a good indication of how Rock'n'Roll it is in the Durham household if a trip to Dobbies is deemed a treat Grin

Piscivorus · 15/02/2014 13:36

Isn't it funny how so many of us have had to reappraise what a treat is or we cheat, then find that it didn't live up to the anticipation and we wouldn't do it again? Seems to be a bit of a theme.

I find it a bit unsettling sometimes. I've had 20+ years of rewarding and cossetting myself with bread, ice cream, crème eggs, etc and now I have to find other rewards or deal with things differently

The Blue Cheese Dis-Appreciation Society is growing! Welcome again LittleMiss. Pseudo I hate most cheese too, I eat a bit of cheese as an ingredient or cooked part of a dish (like a bit melted on top of something) and like halloumi but most cheeses - bleeurgh!

BIWI · 15/02/2014 13:36

Woo hoo! Welcome back, LittleMiss Grin

And great post.

You're right - we all have different issues, and it's easy to judge other people's situations by our own, which isn't always helpful for either side. But the best thing about these threads is that we 'know' each other and, I hope, can be forgiving of our idiosyncrasies.

You, more than most, have gone through an awful lot over the last few years, and if we can be of just a small amount of help that would be awesome.

I'm making cauliflower pizza for lunch (a bit late today), and hoping to improve on my first attempt which, although it tasted fab, was a bit too soggy. This time I'm hoping that I've cracked it, and that I have a nice, chewy base. If I succeed, I'll post the recipe later.

OP posts:
Piscivorus · 15/02/2014 13:43

I made it last week and mine was a bit soggy too. It was nice but was a knife and fork job rather than like a proper pizza

I can recommend Aldi steak btw. We had the aged ribeye last night and it was lovely

Very windy here again. Just hoping the roof holds up as we still have loose tiles from Wednesday that the roofer hasn't been able to repair yet

Notsoskinnyminny · 15/02/2014 14:27

Can I join the Anti Blue Cheese Society - DH says I'm not normal because I only like 'cooked' cheese - cheese butty = bleurgh, cheese toastie = nom nom nom Grin not that I've had any bread since BC started before BIWI comes after me with her big stick

Another vote for aldi steak we had the sirloin last night, I'm getting better but ribeye's still too fatty for me - if I know its there I can't swallow it.

Another windy day here DH tried to replant the tree planted when we moved here 5 years ago but its down again and is terrifying pyschopup because she pees at that end of the garden.

Need to go and guzzle some water and brave the shops for a yoga mat for tomorrow's torture kettleball session.

Welcome back LMD

Just looking for a bit of advice . I did the last bootcamp and have now lost about 3 stones and it is startibg to show. Quite a few people that i don't want to have deep conversations about it with have said " you've lost a lot of weight....." . I never know what to say next. Just "yes" seems a bit short but i don't want to go into the detail of it. What is a short conversation response without seeming rude or dismissive? I tend to say yes but the clever part is going to be keeping if off, but that seems a bit negative. Ideas from all of you who have lost weight on this site? I am not showing off, but it is a conversation i have daily and i would love to have a good response. I can't even say it was hard on this woe as it wasn't really.......
Ideas please?

BIWI · 15/02/2014 15:04

Just say 'yes, I have!' leave it at that! No need to say any more or to explain yourself.

You could, if you like, say that you're now following a low carb way of eating, for the benefit of your health - and one of the nicest benefits of it has been the weight loss. Once you start boring them about low carbing they'll soon shut up!

Well bit of a blip there... the power went off at 10pm last night and has only just come back on. We have no phone (cordless), mobile reception and therefore internet, so no way of knowing what's going on. Thought we'd have to cancel tonight but it's just come back on and hopefully will stay on now.

Sarah I used to love playing with playdough. I remember a short trip to Granada in Spain when DD was a toddler, sitting in many tapas bars keeping DD amused with playdough. Grin

Steel I reckon we'll have enough food to feed the five thousand so come on over! Grin

Grin Grin at The AntiCrabby! Grin

tea I love sprouts, but if you really dislike them then there's not a lot you can do to totally disguise that sprouty taste. I roast them (you can parboil them for a few mins first if you like) in the meat/chicken fat or in olive oil until all brown and crispied. I make a stir fry with them which I love (not DP's favourite dish though, although he doesn't mind it). Or boil until tender along with swede and make bubble and squeak.

Great to see you back LittleMiss! Smile

whodunnit I'd just say "Ah thanks for noticing!" with a big smile and change the subject if you'd rather not talk about it.

Food yesterday
L - leftover brussels sprout stirfry
D - pork steaks wrapped in parma ham with a sherry, sage and mushroom sauce and mashed swede
P - berry crumble
3 teas, 3L water. Rather a lot of wine.

Right, we've now got to squeeze all the crazed cleaning and food prep into a much shorter time, so off I go hungover from last night. Hmm

arselikekylie · 15/02/2014 16:22

whodunnit i just say that I'm trying to eat a bit more healthily so have cut right back on sugary stuff and carbs.

whodunnit · 15/02/2014 18:45

Thanks, i like it. I will practice it tonight in front of the mirror. Thanks especially arse- you add a bit of detail but not too much.
Twas funny yesterday as i was discussing this woe with my mate at work for the first time n she was saying the horizon programme shows low carb as being very unhealthy. Then she got to telling me what she ate in a normal week and it was identical to this woe. Made me chuckle.

QueenQueenie · 15/02/2014 18:56

Just SMS...

Had (don't even ask!) to have Nando's for lunch - flame grilled skin on chicken with coleslaw and green salad... not too bad I hope but not sure how much carby shit might be hiding in the chilli marinade... or sugar in the coleslaw... avoided the "creamy" salad dressing.

Have just eaten dlicious snack of celery, blue cheese, peanut butter (not too much BIWI). It was delicious! Stinky cheese + PB = yum.

gussiegrips · 15/02/2014 19:03

So, last night's valentine's day blip involved the Traditional G+T. In an effort to help the WOE I bought pre-mixed cans from Sainsbury's instead of having a bottle of gin squeaking at me all week.

Today I had a look at the can to see what the damage is...

Sainsbo's own G+full fat tonic - ZERO CARBS!

Shurely shum mishtaik?

Or, is it really ok to have a glug of gin on a LC WOE?

thenightsky · 15/02/2014 19:17

Full fat tonic cannot possibly be zero carb Shock Surely it has sugar in or it would be called low cal or sugar free or some such?

BIWI · 15/02/2014 19:22

That can't be right!

OP posts:
gussiegrips · 15/02/2014 19:30

And, the gin?

I might email Sainsbos and ask for clarification. Had a momentary skip to myself and nearly cracked open another one before I thought "nah, that sounds too good to be true"

HeirToTheIronThrone · 15/02/2014 19:36

Another blue cheese loather here!

I have had a shitty day, trying to buy something smart for a job interview on Wednesday. In tears in several shops because I am disgusting in everything. Ended up getting a dress from M&S that I don't even really like that much as it at least did up.

DH and I are both ill so blanket on the sofa and have a pot of chilli on. Ugh.

ChesterDrawers · 15/02/2014 20:01

Welcome back LittleMiss

Sorry you've had a shit day Heir, I hate clothes shopping so know where you are coming from. My wardrobe is filled with stuff I've bought because it fitted rather than anything else. Good luck with your interview.

Ok day here but struggling tonight. Had tea but it didn't really inspire me. Now I'm craving something although I'm not sure what.

Am tired so pretty sure that's the cause. Sigh, I will be strong.

BIWI · 15/02/2014 20:24

Flowers to you Heir and Chester. Keep on keeping on ...

gussie - the good news is that gin doesn't have carbs! But full fat tonic surely does.

Today for me:

B - nothing apart from coffee
L - cauliflower pizza, with pepperoni, shallots, chilli, black olives, tomato sauce and mozzarella topping (still didn't manage to get the base to dry out enough, but it was very tasty and very filling)
D - pork fillet, marinated in lemon, olive oil, garlic and thyme, then roasted in the oven (in foil), roasted celeriac with shallot and rosemary and leeks in a blue cheese sauce - for all you haterz Grin

Busy day. We were out and about most of the day, so foods haven't been ideal. We made plans to eat at this great grill/restaurant/pub that I know does yummy LC friendly food, but we never made it there. Oh well. I think I haven't eaten enough, and what I've eaten is a bit meh, but tomorrow will be another day.

B: Greek yoghurt with coconut oil and coconut flakes.
Day: Cappucino in a cafe; snack of dark chocolate and a few brazil nuts.
Evening: Smoked salmon with roule and some dry white wine.

Nice to see Littlemiss. I hope Chipping is okay. Hello everyone else too.

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 15/02/2014 20:58

Good to see you LittleMiss

Hello everyone else!

whodunnit I also just say I've cut out sugar and starches and most people don't ask any more. It's also really difficult to argue that cutting out those is unhealthy.

I also had a planned cheat last night - my much awaited chocolates. They were lovely but I felt sick after and like lots of you I've had a bit of a dodgy stomach today. However, my inner carb monster has been sated so job done.

We've also had a busy day - DH is at work (still) so we've been out with friends for lunch and had some other friends round also and in the middle of the I've had two firsts today : a BPC, which was alright but certainly tasted of coconut, and avocado, which was probably under ripe.

B: 2 eggs, a shallot, mushrooms and tomato, scrambled in butter
L: chicken and bacon salad with mayo
D: late and only for me. I tried to make BIWIs blue cheese and avocado mash and it didn't really mash up so I just shoved some salami and cucumber in the bowl and ate the lot. The salami was an insurance taste against the avocado!
S: BPC and a creamy coffee.

Re: cauliflower pizza - if any of you can make that taste nice I'd love to know how. Mine was the work of the devil.

I had a friend ask me about LC today who was interested regarding her polycystic ovaries and I've signposted her here. I was really pleased - you never know, I might be a walking advert for LCing GrinGrin [delusional]

gussiegrips · 15/02/2014 22:43

Right enough, BIWI - I double checked. I'd bought the diet version by accident, which just goes to show what sort of state my taste buds are in.

So....I can drink carb-free diet tonic and gin?

Really?

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Surely there's a catch?

gussiegrips · 15/02/2014 22:43

As in, apart from the usual one of falling pregnant after too much gin!
