Wow! So much nattering that we've filled up the thread before the end of the week!

Here's the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for tomorrow morning.

And, for the Weight Tracker I'm not quite sure what happens with this link I think that you will be asked to enter your weight for this week and then you will see your individual graph.

I hope you all had a good week last week, and very good luck for week 2.

PS just in case you didn't realise (because I didn't twig straight away) the carb counter that you see isn't just a list of carb counts - it works out carb counts for you (should you want to know them) if you enter the veg you're using in a meal

What kind of fish Overcome? I usually bake in the oven in foil with butter mixed with spices e.g. dill and a squeeze of lemon juice or coriander and a squeeze of lime juice.

I lost 2 lbs! Grin that 1 lb more than I was expecting and makes it 8 lb in total.

Seeing the weight loss really helps keep me focused, we have a group meeting today where there are four, yes FOUR, cakes provided per person!

I will not have any.

Not finding avoiding sweet things too difficult, I manged to say no to three gigantic toblerones last week and my OH ate a danish pastry in the afternoon yesterday and I ate nothing....I didn't even feel deprived. Problem day might be tomorrow when its my birthday, I decided not to make a fake cake so taking nothing in, hoping no one will say "oh go on, its your birthday you can have a bit of this yummy synthetic cake from Tesco".

Okay, I'm going to start afresh today (143 pounds). I suspect last week my putting 140 on the chart when I was probably 142 was not a good idea.... although I am probably the only person in the UK who can put on so much weight eating this way. I am 100% paleo/primal and have been for ages but until last week had been eating nuts and raisins and sweet potato and some cheese. Last week it must have been the cream which I have now finished.

Let us see if this works from today.

A small loss for me this week: a couple of pounds. Given the huge amounts of food (especially dairy) that I have been eating, I am very pleased. I need to focus on portion control and cutting down the cheese (after years of deprivation I was so happy to be able to eat it!). I am approaching my target pre-baby weight (just a small size 12 - nothing particularly low, but I know from years on dieting that this is the most sustainable weight for me (and also I do not want to throw all my clothes away!)). The challenge will soon be establishing the amount of carbs I can reintroduce without gaining.

The chart had a link at the top "add weight" and it's under that link.

keepon I also have the lunchbox challenge at the mo - trying scotch eggs & sausages but then he wants sweet things - other people have "such nice things in their lunch boxes" ie iced cup cakes, crisps, sugary yogurts - what to do?

Good morning losers, and good luck for week 2!

-3lb here! Grin I'm very very happy with this; I'd been prep talking myself not to get disheartened if it's only 0.5-1lb. But DH has lost over 7lb! unfair Shock

ChippingInWadesIn was curious about blood sugar changes (way back in the pre-BC week thread). I did fasting/morning sugars every day for two weeks now, and proper measurements all through the day during a few days both during the pre-BC week and last week.
Average fasting sugar was 5.4 pre-BC, down to 4.2 in BC :)
Daytime chages are pretty similar - they don't rise very high and do go down quite quickly after food in both weeks, but were mostly between 4.5-5.0 in pre-BC and 3.5-4.0 during last week.
I don't see the point to keep measuring now, since they look to be fine. I'll put my monitor away and check them again when I'm eating a bit more carbs again.

Today's plan:
B: Fried eggs and coffee with coconut oil.
L: Last night's bubble & squek in plenty of butter, maybe with a bit of bacon.
S: Avocado
D: Pork loin steak and buttery broccoli and curly kale.

Suzy - my dp takes a 'LC' lunchbox; he includes things like potato salad, banana and I make flapjacks.... Not so LC but it works for him and the flapjacks are better than cakes. I reduce the sugar drastically (his sweet tooth is reduced anyway) and use honey instead of golden syrup

I've put on 3/4 of a pound :(

Very sad :(

Possible mitigating circumstance - feeling very "periody" this morning even though I've got 8 days to go before I'm due on.

I haven't cheated :(

I'm devastated. I have been so good, I've really got into this woe, I've not had one single thing wrong, I didn't even lick the mash spoon yesterday when I served it up fr the kids yesterday! But I've put 2lb on since yesterday, which means my loss since last Monday which is the one I'm counting and on the spread sheet is 2lb.

I'd hoped for more in my first week, especially as I have a lot to lose. Do you think I'm going something wrong?

Hi everyone. Some great losses here, so well done.

I lost 2lbs, which means I've lost 4lbs since 2nd January. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed, as the only cheats I have had all week is a little gravy powder on 2 days & a little bit of parsnip and sweet potato yesterday. I have 3-4 stone to lose, so there is a lot to get off.

I probably overdid it with the cream and cheese, so I might cut back on those a little. On the other hand, I haven't felt hungry or deprived, so don't feel I'm on a diet at all. Slowly but surely may succeed where fast loss diets gave failed in the past.

I do look slimmer though, and I have lost half an inch off my boobs and waist and 2 inches off my hips. Bizarre!

Hello everyone - lovely old and new faces of Bootcamp!

I had been low carbing for 18 months and lost two stone. For some reason I then turned into a carby twat for a month and put 8lb back on. Lawks.

So I have retrieved my halo from the compost heap and have started today with a bowl of Lidl yog, a black coffee and a whole load of good intentions.

I can't wait to sack off that bastard sugar again.

So I'd like to get back to 10st 4lb, maybe get to the mythical 10st barrier and size 10 jeans.

Off to drink more water and plan delicious buttery meals.

Mlig, looks like we are in the same boat. I had lost more in the week and it went back on again, for some reason. Have you measured yourself?

EwanHoozami · 20/01/2014 08:17

PS it actually took just less than 6 months to ditch the two stone, the other year was maintenance. In case anyone is thinking "2 stone in a year and a half, fuck that for a game of wagon wheels" Grin

4.9lb off for me, started last week so that makes almost 10lb off in two weeks. Very pleased, especially as had minor transgressions over the weekend.

Calamity - do you have much to lose? If you're feeling periody then it could well be that you are retaining water. Believe me I have so been there re. trying hard and not losing (and I have a lot to lose!) and it was usually if I was over-indulging in low-carb foods (I have a problem with portion control and if I make something really delicious that serves four tend to pick at it all evening... Blush)

Small loss here of 3lb, but it's my own fault as I've cheated quite a bit with a glass of cava fri, sat and sun and grapes and apples slipping in-so all in all, quite good really! Going to try much harder this week and up the water intake.

Have lost 7 lb!! Have weighed four times now-can only think scales weren't working properly last week? I have lost a lot of 'sticky out tummy' which happened last time I stopped eating bread. Is it really possible to lose 7 lb in one week? I have 2 and a half stone to lose in total.

morning losers, 6lbs down which i am delighted with, as i really thought there'd be no change after a fairly major derailment last night which i won't go into... back on track today and determined not to self-sabotage, especially as there's no need to feel hungry/deprived at all.

really looking forward to seeing more of crabby's beautiful pictures (and recipes!) though i am a bit of a creature of habit and tend to eat the same things day in day out. eg today:

B: BAB
L: chicken salad with avocado & mayo
D: pan fried salmon with wilted spinach
S: FF greek yoghurt

good luck to all for week 2!

StuntNun - completely agree re. children and their needs. IIRC one of the reasons why the 'modern' diet has gone so wrong is that for a long time eating carbs and fat worked (albeit this was pre the age of frankenfoods) was because people were far more active and the energy was burnt off rather than stored as fat. Children NEED lots of energy, but I'd like to work towards changing their diet subtly so that it's home-made and slightly adapted cake rather than haribo, lots of home cooked meals featuring lots of healthy fat, and carbs as an addition rather than the main attraction.

Hopebeyondreason, no I haven't had chance, but I must! Have you? I wonder what it is?
Could eating too much veg be a problem? I had a normal amount of veg yesterday, all low carbs though

3lbs off today despite falling into a vat of wine at the weekend. That is half the Christmas gain gone. Would be happy to be half a stone lighter by June. Just had boiled eggs with butter and mayo. For all the new bootcampers, I am another one who could stay the same for weeks and then drop 3 or 4 pounds overnight. ,
