Eve - £28 for a pac-a-mac?
It's so typical when you're up for a shop it doesn't happen tho. Did you have a good bday?
Can you remember which undertone the woman was married to and was she still married to him, both the women I knew got divorced iirc. I haven't seen them for donkeys years, but one of them, I was particularly fond of. (She was a Debbie Harry look-a-like too).

Sponge - How's it going??
Fame soundtrack lol. That was good music to AEROBICS lolol

Janos - Hope you're bracing yourself for Friday, remember all of us, and do not put up with exh's shit. Square shoulders and head up, looking down your nose to his level.
Yep my sis is great, done with love too, bless her. But her ways do grate on my nerves if we spend time together in the same house . The last time we were in the same kitchen cooking (about 2 years ago) she stood and picked the carrots out of the stew we were making because I put them in too early (they would lose their vitamins). She actually picked them back out. It was a stew ffs. .

Ninah - are you packed yet?? lol

Waves at everyone else.

ninah · 28/07/2010 22:46

monty it was 3/4 of a single mattress but yay v generous, they are a good crowd
and it comes in ... October
tent arrived today
is v heavy
found out I need more fabric to put it ON called a footprint, which entails another trip to GoOut
no not packed yet have 3 weeks and counting but have made a campers stew - your sister would be horrifed how long those carrots wil be hanging around, will freezi it obv
eve v disappointed in the mac shopping but not too surprised, only the price glad i went with my £9 granny lagging now
Music, saw Blockheads at Cornbury few weeks ago but not the same without ID, didn't help they played on same day as Buddy Guy
used to love Roxy Music, Blondie etc
I do like Micheal J too, listen the Sly and Robbie cover of Billie Jean, instrumental only, it's fantastic

Monty100 · 28/07/2010 23:17

Ninah - OCTOBER?? Oh well, just in time for winter then.
OMG I always though tents came with the floor bit.
Lol at at carrots. It was at that moment I decided, we might have been born 15 minutes apart, but ohmilord are we different.
Oh, it wasn't Christy Moore that I'd put in the car, it was Neil Young's Harvest.

Ninah - what part of the country were you at this time?? Just wondering.

OP posts:
ninah · 28/07/2010 23:24

well I thought that too
only no you are supposed to buy a second floor to put under the first floor in case you get it dirty or damaged
so much for all the carefree pack up and go side of the thing
gettign a bit fecked off at having to spend so much time in shops full of middle aged kagoul wearers in cornish pastie shoes
here's an item for you
'scrambling shorts'
wtf? they look like the shorts the guideleader types used to wear in carry on camping but wtf is so special about them
shorts are shorts, right? wrong

ninah · 28/07/2010 23:25

at what time monty? the camping shop's on the way to Birmingham

Monty100 · 28/07/2010 23:27

Grew up in Midlands, escaped, but the lure was too strong for me and I am back about ten miles from where I started off

Monty100 · 28/07/2010 23:35

Not necessarily a bad thing.

Need to turn in.

Hi, I've just got up. Had a bad cough/cold for a week or two and now I've got headache and sinus pain. Great on a week off and really not sure I can cope with camping tomorrow. Got loads to do as the house and myself look a mess. FWB is meant to be coming round tonight as well. It won't be a heavy night and he can stop in the spare.

Got the dreaded tax credit award this morning. Damn payments are going down, don't know how I can manage and they are only paying them up to end August. Does anyone know how that works and do I just ring them to say DD is staying in education? Monty?

Monty100 · 29/07/2010 13:01

Eve - yes ring them immediately. Grr. It might take some time to get thru but persevere!

Hope you feel better.

OP posts:
Janos · 29/07/2010 13:36

Thank you all - I will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

Calm, calm and assertive is that way to do it

eve - Sorry you are feeling poorly. It's shit being ill on a week off.

Also what Monty says, do get on to tax credit people. However bear in mind it's very very busy atm because 31st of July is deadline for ppl to submit renewals so might be best to leave it until Monday?

aseriouslyblondemoment · 29/07/2010 14:30

eve def do it before the 31st so they can sort it out and can't blame you for not providing the info on time
janos all the best for tomorrow let me know how you get on
just a thought about waterproofs btw..it might be worth checking out m&m direct online as they have lots of brands at heavily discounted prices and also do festival stuff at around a tenner,as modelled by sophie ellis bextor and paloma faith!
rofl @ ninah and the trips to gooutdoors..think i prob. use the same store as you and yep there's def a large percentage of blokes wearing scramble shorts, long socks and cornish pasty shoes

Monty100 · 29/07/2010 17:02

Eve - agree with ASBM get on to them before deadline. Keep trying they open til 8pm iirc.

I'm off to face the madness that is the commute.

Speak later all.

hello all

am amused by all this outdoor clothing talk...scramble shorts etc! am such a townie I rarely venture into the country, and have never spent a night in a tent. refuse to sleep anywhere where I don't have access to an indoor loo (based on horrible tales from friends of camping, digging holes in the woods etc!)

am having usual crisis of confidence re wedding man. Still not sure if he likes me, and still thinking why would he. Thought he was flirting with me a bit yesterday, then today he said he would phone me about something and didnt - he called his mate (who I work with) instead to discuss it

think i am wasting my time

ninah · 29/07/2010 19:02

hate hard to say if he likes you or not but I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket etc
as for the outdoorsy stuff I was a total townie 10 years ago and would have never have considered camping it's only this year
I've taken it up as a cheap way to take dc away, see a bit of music chill out with friends etc
does tend to attract a proportion of less determinedly nuclear families ime
and where I am going there are hot showers allegedly as well as portaloos
eve sorry you are feeling rubbish, I am been below par myself with a summer cold kind of thing, miserable
I do feel much better now as tmi alert i just got my ears syringed yay
what with that and the anorak just call me Mildred
Hope you get through to CTC line
asbm it claims to be the largest outdoor store in the UK,it certainly did my head in!

Monty100 · 29/07/2010 20:37

Sponge - have you offered him a meal yet? (When dc's aren't around). I'd try that, and probably ply him with lots of wine and atmosphere .

Ninah - is it tomorrow you're off?

Eve - did you manage to get through?

OP posts:
ninah · 30/07/2010 11:18

go in 2 weeks lol
good idea re wedding bloke
how you feeling eve?
good luck janos!

hatesponge · 30/07/2010 11:43

morning all, lots of nice sunshine here today (plus on the phone for an hour to wedding man last night - he did phone me in the end- so feeling MUCH more cheerful!)

eve hope you are feeling better

good luck to janos for today...I do sympathise with the awful Ex situation, we are not at the mediation stage yet but is not something I am looking forward to. Hope all goes well.

monty - meal is a great idea. however he is still (sporadically) doing work for me at the moment so I have to keep it a bit professional for the time being. difficult though that is. have already fed him home made cakes and biscuits tho which went down well

whats everyone's plan for the weekend? I am trying to tame my jungle of a garden (for about 10 mins, will be out there with a glass of something chilled the rest of the time!)

lou33 · 30/07/2010 20:28

janos how did you get on?

it is v quiet on here today

i have nothing to report aside from i got two new tyres for the car today , did some food shopping (again), some laundry and made dinner

life on the edge eh?

Monty100 · 30/07/2010 20:32

Sponge - how's the wine gardening going?

Lou - It is quiet, on here. You sound as excited as I am, came in from work, feet up for an hour, dropped dd off, quick grab at supermarket saw a friend for half an hour, have just cracked a beer.

At least it's Friday .

OP posts:
lou33 · 30/07/2010 20:42

i have beer too, but seeing as it is school hols and i dont have to get up so early in the week now, fri evening is less exciting lol

dp's weekend doesnt start til tomorrow evening either as he is working in the day

i have just sent a text to janos to see how she got on, in case she doesnt come online, btw

lou33 · 30/07/2010 21:01

ninah · 30/07/2010 21:54
