Hi, Janos sorry your ex is being unreasonable. I'm he doesn't pay maintenance.

All quiet here. Was woken up at 9.15 by my mobile going off, it was Salesman, wishing me a happy birthday, a day early but bit surprised he remembered. Had a real lazy day today.

Going to go into town tomorrow afternoon on my own for a good look round the shops, then going for a couple of drinks, then home with a takeaway, cake and more drinks. It's only another year on the clock. Time goes too fast.

ninah · 26/07/2010 21:53

oh no monty
you have to redeem yourself by talking about 'cool bands' and 'throwing some shapes' lol
I bought an anorak today snort
the first one I have owned in my adult life
feel like I've opened the floodgates of menopause

ninah · 26/07/2010 21:54

oh eve happy birthday

Remotew · 26/07/2010 21:56

Ninah, I need a new waterproof, especially as camping over the weekend. Don't know where to look as I want something reasonably fashionable.

Monty100 · 26/07/2010 22:04

Eve - if you're going shopping tomorrow, French Connection are on their final knockdown. They have dresses very similar to the 'wedding' one I bought for £45!! I'm slightly perturbed lol, but the navy one was the one I wanted. here here

Have a lovely day tomorrow .

Ninah - I took me a while to work out what you meant by cool bands lol. I am towards the 'younger' in the office still (low staff turnover lol). That's what it felt like, the floodgates of old gimmer lol.

Janos - try and rise above it, he ain't worth it.

OP posts:
ninah · 26/07/2010 22:17

well don't go where I did eve (go outdoors) it was full of immensely practical and depressing clothes
but I am camping for a week soon and it is bound to rain so I felt compelled
Used to have a lovely full length leather coat with a belt that would have been much nicer and if not quite as waterproof, not sure what happened to it
I did buy a stool that turns into a table and weighs almost nothing
and a fab lantern
so not all bad lol
monty one huge plus with working with 3 year olds is that they think 8 is ancient and make no difference between that and 48

lou33 · 26/07/2010 22:26

i doubt exh will stay that way tbh

he has already said he has not intention of letting dd1 stay much longer or consider them sharing a place

Monty100 · 26/07/2010 22:45

Lou - aaaah the realisation doesn't take long does it? Grr.

I saw exh on Saturday. He's taking ds on holiday, doesn't know when, not sure where . He suggested me going away for a week when it's a fraction of the price so I told him I wouldn't feel comfortable with ds staying there and he said not to worry he would look after him.

OP posts:
aseriouslyblondemoment · 26/07/2010 22:49

oh ffs
had meant to post to you lou to mark it as a red letter day
you know the ones...rare with exh's..almost like you have to pinch yourself..and check for flying pigs
but omfg he's evil beyond belief janos can't say i'm shocked as i know his tricks but i'm v concerned about your LO

Monty100 · 26/07/2010 22:55

ASBM - hi! How are you??

OP posts:
aseriouslyblondemoment · 26/07/2010 23:29

hi mont
same shit different day
did lol @ your car and the music situ
are you all legit with the new one now?
btw gooutdoors have some really good kit if you rummage(think tkmaxx here)i've bought a few northface bits at special prices

Janos · 27/07/2010 07:33

I know asbm. We have mediation on Fri so I will be bringing it up then. Last time I did this it stopped him at least for a while.

Eve - happy belated birthday! Yes he left his job so that I don't have to pay him anything. He's an all round winner.

Janos · 27/07/2010 07:35

I mean the other way round of course - it's early and had no coffee yet !

Monty100 · 27/07/2010 10:41

Eve - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you have a lovely day.

ASBM - I'm so excited at CD PLAYER in car. I'll have to take my tapes out of the old car before it goes, which are the handful I kept when I got rid of the rest years ago. Just for your amusement they are, Dire Straits, Van Morrison, Eurythmics, Simply Red () and Bruce Springsteen. Eighties chick or what?

TKMax is brilliant, I got dd's skiing stuff in there and buy my db fishing gear; socks hat, gloves etc in there EVERY Christmas .

Janos - I hope exh backs off ds. My exh has done exactly what yours has, and I don't get a penny and haven't done for I think, five years now. I don't know how he can look any of us, or himself in the face.

Remotew · 27/07/2010 11:07

Janos you aren't late it's today! OMG hard to think that this time next year will be a milestone. I'm going away to celebrate that one.

Monty again that's terrible. We only get £13 per week but at least it's something. It could have been a lot more if I had asked for it to be looked at again a few years ago but I preferred not to.

Mission today is to find a going out dress, festival top and a fashionable anorak in the sales. All costing next to nothing. We don't have TK Max or French Connection. Just DP, small Oasis and Warehouse, Peacocks Topshop, New Look (too young) Next, Monsoon and designer shops that I don't go in. Rambling now, must be old age.

Monty100 · 27/07/2010 11:22

Eve - Fair play to you not asking, they don't deserve to think they're needed.

I like all of those shops, some of New Look stuff is ok. They have lovely sandals in my one for half nothing at the minute and some lovely raincoats in their sale too come to think of it.

Have a lovely day anyway, and I hope you have a successful shopping trip .

lou33 · 27/07/2010 12:18

happy birthday eve

ninah · 27/07/2010 12:26

eve have a lovely day and if you find a fashionable anorak I will froth at the mouth with envy lol
monty I have a random selection of tapes in my car inc the Jam, David Bowie and Soul 2 Soul. oh, and a 'compliation' tape someone made me in 1985 ... One of dc's friends picked one up and asked what's THAT lol
Billy Bragg is playing at Green Man remember him?

Janos · 27/07/2010 13:02

Monty - isn't it amazing how they think such behaviour is ok? Just can't fathom it myself.

Tossers, every one. However I take comfort in the fact the DS feels comfortable saying tthese things to nme. I don't want him keeping stuff back because he's worried about my reaction (why should a 5 year old have to think about that anyway FFS ).

Eve - glad I'm not late! Have a fab birthday and enjoy your shopping.

Am struggling to think of anywhere that does fashionable/smart waterproofs. IME they are usually anything but. However saying that I did see some nice waterproofs in the Monsoon sale, £35 I think.

I too will be vee impressed (+ envious)if you manage to get any!

LOL @ compilation tape and your DCs friends ninah - I used to make those in the 80s

Monty100 · 27/07/2010 13:04

Ninah - Billy Bragg is mates with someone at work, he often plays at work related events .

Lol at 'what's that?'

Should 'fashionable' and 'anorak' be in the same sentence?? Is there not a conflict of interests there??

OP posts:
Janos · 27/07/2010 13:12

Hmmmm.....perhaps there could be a market for sexy anoraks ?

lou33 · 27/07/2010 13:23

billy bragg is great

aseriouslyblondemoment · 27/07/2010 13:32

janos i bet he will behave on friday pathetic excuse for a man that he is

aurorastargazer · 27/07/2010 13:34

lol at 'sexy anoraks'

afternoon everyone

eve - happy birthday

janos - your ex again sounds exactly like dd's dad. he's paying maintenance but it's the rate that was set when he was unemployed and has actually turned round to me and said he's 'not gonna pay it'
he's again been discussing relationship break-up with dd saying that i walked out on him! i asked him to bloody leave cos i no longer loved him because he couldn't keep his trousers up the git

aseriouslyblondemoment · 27/07/2010 13:34

eve have you had a look on ebay btw?
