Blimey sorry everybody, I do witter on in the most ridiculous and irrelevant way and steer miles from the topic of this thread.

OP posts:
ninah · 28/06/2010 22:02

what is the topic of the thread anyway? ebay?cooking? ohh, thaaat ...
no as a mother I would be pssed off too. But in reality it's best it has worked as it has. Suppose the £ comment was a bloke joke ...
wouldn't take it to heart monty, in an ideal world all families would be like on the ads for Warner hols
in real life it ain't like that. Which goes for families of all shapes and sizes

lou33 · 28/06/2010 22:05

i do feel on the mend finally yes

i think that would be a bit of a problem if dp said that to me monty, not sure what i would do tbh, but yes i would be v hurt

Monty100 · 28/06/2010 22:07

It's probably best all round really.

Exh didn't half moan about ds when they got back from their holiday last year.

OP posts:
Monty100 · 28/06/2010 22:09

x post again Lou. Glad you're feeling better.

Yes, I am miffed. But I can see his point tbh.

OP posts:
lou33 · 28/06/2010 22:42

ikwym but even so

why not send ds to boot camp for his holiday

Monty100 · 28/06/2010 22:45

Lou - believe me I've googled it.

lou33 · 28/06/2010 22:54

i told mine that i put their names down at birth just in case

clarabella23 · 29/06/2010 09:12

Morning guys, hows everyone doing?

sincitylover · 29/06/2010 13:00

Hi Clara - didn't want you to go unanswered. how's things with you.

Monty I can imagine - well actually he has said it often - exh saying that about ds1.
I think the message is that teenagers can be hard work and the idea of the family holiday is alot diffeent to the reality.

it must hurt though and your dp does have some obligation to your ds surely.

I didn't go away with my parents beyond 15. And on the last family holiday I went with with my parents took my bf with me - we got in trouble with my parents for drinking and staying out late.

I think what's changed with today's teens is that they are alot ruder and lippy and I don't know how you get round that.

I hope our holiday will be OK. RL friend knows us well but still know how difficult my boys can be when they are together. On their own it's a walk in the park.

Re the exbf - he has always been straight with me - ie back when we first met he already had dcs (he had split from his partner) and now has step children hence not wanting to do more step children with me.

I can understand that. It's complicated by the fact that he doesn't see his own children (long story) but wants to find a way to reunite with them. And he is a head over heart person.

I am just so at how it's panned out over the years because he is the person I have gelled with the most. Maybe we will get together when we're are OAPS!!!

Meanwhile I have enough to keep me busy and don't intend living the life of a nun.

sincitylover · 29/06/2010 13:10

oh and we went on a tour of our new offices yesterday hard to visualise as a bit of a building site but I gathered by the stunned silence and no questions that people weren't happy.

It's classified as lower ground but facing a wall and only limited natural light. Plus squeezed into a small space - don't expect my own office (as I do now) but still not looking good and miles away from people I work with.

hatesponge · 29/06/2010 13:43

hello all...another flying visit from me as now although i have the internet at home my laptop has died. and as proof that it never rains but it pours, got a letter from the evil ex's solicitors today asking for £100k for his 'share' of the house in 14 days failing which they will seek an order for sale

Work is also a nightmare, and my hair is falling out in handfuls which I think is due to stress Even the prospect of wedding man coming round tonight doesnt cheer me up...well not much anyway!

Apologies for the note of gloom...hope all are well especially those on the marital sofa who seem (from my v quick skim of the thread) to be very quiet of late! hope lou is feeling better, also pc's dd.

janos keep us posted re the younger man;

eve anyone on the horizon post-stallion?

monty re DP/DS, as a mum to an almost teenager I can empathise, I used to end up being in the middle of arguments when I was with Ex, and DS was only 9/10 then. I know DS will struggle if there is ever another man in the house, but if I'm with someone then unless its a totally casual FWB situation, ultimately I want them to be with me and the boys as a family (however hard that will no doubt be) which is why I would struggle in SCLs position with exbf

waves to anyone I've forgotten. Off to strategy meeting in 5 mins, whether any strategy will come out of it is debatable however!

Remotew · 29/06/2010 15:58

Hi everyone, Just checking in before I go and lie out in the sun for a while. Feeling a bit delicate after last night. My friends started talking about going home earlyish so I decided my night wasn't over and text Stallion to meet me for a drink. I know! Thing is I didn't want him to feel dumped, is that just me being soft? I don't mind being friends and it was all very innocent, plus we know people in common and he had told them he met me so now he can hold his head up. I haven't arranged to meet him again though!

Janos, go for it. A younger, goodlooking guy could be just what the doctor ordered. I personally find them much more exciting than men my own age but I guess that's obvious from my posts on here. 10/11 years isn't a massive gap and you never know, he obviously doesn't think of age as a barrier. A very nice younger one said hello to me in the pub last night!

Monty, hope you get a break from DS soon. Even though we are close I am enjoying a nice day off with DD away.

lou33 · 29/06/2010 19:47

evening, just popping in to place mark

i dont have anything to report, i feel a lot beter tho still not fully recovered (few urgent dashes to the loo but muchly reduced)

i have managed to be ok for most of the day though am feeling a bit rough now, but its definitely an improvement

Janos · 29/06/2010 20:06

So glad you are feeling a bit better lou. feeling a little grotty myself as overexercise yesterday has led to some aches and pains.

Monty - I can understand why you are hurt about your DP and DS. Only wish I could say something helpful; I don't have any experience of teens yet!

Oh and before I forget thanks all for bigging me up

He does seem like a genuinely nice guy so fingers crossed.

Talking of which I logged onto the site briefly to see if any new messages just before putting my son to bed, only to find a stroppy message from publisher guy because I hadn't replied to a message he sent, basically telling me off for not replying , which I think is a bit off.

I replied saying I was taken aback by his message and would be sure to send a proper reply when I got the opportunity. However I'm now inclined to think I shouldn't really bother.

lou33 · 29/06/2010 20:14

oh blimey i wouldnt bother janos, tbh that would put me right off even if it was hugh jackman/kelly jones/ any other hot guy i drool over, naked and dipped in chocolate

Janos · 29/06/2010 20:19

Yeah tbh it really put me off. Needy and stroppy not a good combo, is it. Set my alarm bells ringing.

Janos · 29/06/2010 20:29

Urgh, and now I've had another message from him which has creeped me out a bit. Nothing in the message per se but he says 'Good for you, I knew you were politer than that'.

I'm not a small child to be 'told off' ffs

Can you block people on there?

lou33 · 29/06/2010 20:31

who does he think he is talking to ffs, he sounds like he is telling off a 5 yr old

just tell him to do one

or blank him

Janos · 29/06/2010 20:34

I'm just going to block him. It's easy enough to do.

Am actually quite angry at being spoken to like that by someone I barely know.

Remotew · 29/06/2010 20:41

I would block him Janos. He is the one who you didn't spark off so nothing lost there.

I've been so bored today, feeling quite down, think it's the effects of alcohol last night. Also missing DD. Also depressed at the lack of chemistry with Stallion.

I was that stuck for something to do I logged onto speed date, something I haven't looked at for years, got chatting for 3 mins to a very nice looking 25 yr old. lol That site is so seedy, he didn't ask me to strip on webcam but think he would have got around to it if the 'date' hadn't ended. I would never pay up on it and think it's best not to go on again. [yuck]

Glad you are feeling better Lou. Back to work tomorrow for me .

Janos · 29/06/2010 20:47

Agreed eve, and I've already done it. Life is too short.

Sorry you're feeling down. I get like that too when DS is away.

Never been on speed date myself but have had chats which have headed in that direction and it's left me feeling quite icky. Not that I've ever stripped on a web cam mind and nor will I ever!

Remotew · 29/06/2010 20:51

Janos, if that's what they want they should go on a porn site. I do reckon that is what speed date is all about but find it hard to believe that lots of women are up for it. Maybe he did just want to chat.

Janos · 29/06/2010 20:55

Well ex-bloody-actly (is that a word?)

Maybe he did want to chat!

Even the nicest though (I've found) can get really pushy that way. But the nice thing about messenger/instant chat is you can just turn them off, of course

Betty79 · 29/06/2010 21:03

Hi ladies, sorry I've not been around as much. Just finding I have less and less time at the mo. Although this week bf is working away so have more time on my hands. I feel a bit grumpy this week too, not helped by bf texting me telling me how he's having fun eating out/sat in bar/watching footie whilst he's away working. I dont want him to have a shit time but still cant help beeing a bit peed off. Havent said anything tho and wont, just think it's pmt or something!

sponge-sorry to hear your still going through shit with ex

eve-sorry things didnt go well with stallion, i agree on the speed date thing on fb!

Lou-glad your feeling a bit better

janos-who does he think he is!
